  • The Brooks Ghost 16 is the update to arguably one of the most popular and best-selling running shoes on the planet and sees Brooks make some pretty big changes to its much-loved workhorse daily trainer.
The headline news is that DNA Loft v2 cushioning technology is out and DNA Loft v3 is in, while there's also changes made in the upper and outsole departments.
Testers Nick, Kieran and Mike have got the new Ghost in to test and have put in some early running time to find if diehard Ghost fans are going to love the changes and whether this might be the best Ghost that Brooks has launched.

I have used the shoe 3 times now and find them very comfortable. Being an older and heavier runner dealing with hip issues they allow me to get in mostly walk but ready for the short jogs I am doing right now.

I don't think the silica is the recycled material here, but the rubber. Brooks website description goes like this: "recycled silica-infused RoadTack rubber" which is a bit confusing. I don't think they need to recycle silica as it is the most abundant material in common sand however recycling rubber makes more sense as it is petroleum by-product for environmental reasons.
