I gotta agree. I have never played a torchlight game, got it for free from Epic, and I'm trying to figure out what the game is all about (I've played WoW but this isn't exactly the same)
I've been using an aegis focused engineer, and I find that the blitz skills are actually quite useful. While blitz is meant for two-handed melee weapons, most of the skills in the blitz tree work just fine with one-handed weapons.
I am burdened with choosing between engineer and berserker. I played the engineer class until level 17 at first but I did put the wrong skills and stats so I decided to use berserker, but he really is not my style. Thanks for the guide mate. Really cleared things up. Defense is the best offense. I'm going back to tanking.
I have been playing as a Blitz engineer (primarily) and haven't had much trouble so far. Just put lots of points into both vitality and strength (for attack and defense/hp). I generally just wail away with a greatsword and a couple blitz skills while always having my healing bot from the construction path activated. The healing bot is amazing even at lower levels.
Great videos guys. I love the detailed info, yet you keep it entertaining and interesting. Also btw Aegis is actually pronounced ee-jis (which is no where near as cool sounding), kinda like Father Ted saying idiots. Anyway, keep up the good work and that subscriber will explode in no time.
Great video, only thing i didn't like is that you called blitz a 2 handed tree. Even though its got a passive increasing 2H damage, almost all (if not all, im too lazy to check) of the active skills in it can be used with either a 2H or a 1H. Other than that, great job :)
I do find it kind of odd that the Construction skills have a passive under it which gives you full charges...especially when only one of the active skills even uses charges under it.
So is melee better then cannon, then? For dealing out damage? How is one supposed to play a melee type vs boss encounters? Or rather, how is one supposed to play melee at low levels vs boss encounters? That's one thing build lists don't tell you: Survivability before you get all those nifty, life extending skills vs bosses and elites.
I liked the concept of flame hammering enemies into oblivion, then got to my first Elite mob (On Elite mode), and found myself nearly dying after only taking a couple of hits. Had to gulp down potions like water just to survive the encounter, and those things are expensive.. I guess you're supposed to use a lot of potions, but I always felt like using potions is cheating. I know it's not, but it feels cheap..A good gamer, should never take a hit.
Remake the video after youve played the class or else its almost all subjective i think this and that and not absolute info that is true and that can be seen from other peoples comments like the other guy mentioning not needing focus on construction, completely true. im lvl 31 still got 5 focus
You obviously dont play the game. You have numerous misinformation on this guide while acting like you know what you're talking about whilst you're skimming through the descriptions.
bro thats such a crappy guide, you've only explained whats already written in spell/skill description..and u are in big mistake if u think that blitz dont need Focus attribute...every class of engineer needs 2str 1focus 2vitality, every single level..maybe every 5. level, put one in dex instead of focus..i dont know if u even played engineer before explaining all this...try playing without spending 1 on focus every level(no mana, no bonus dmg from unique weps)
Such a crappy comment as well. Have you even played engineer yourself? Vitality is one of the shittiest things to spec in, its 100x better to just get equipment that adds health and/or socket for health. Forcefield will make it so that you will never die, I'm on NG+++ in elite with a single death.
Your comment is useless too. Every engi needs what he needs. This is pure bullshit, str investment depends on build and 2vit is too fucking low for some.
2023 is on its brink. Torchlight 2 is still a great game to come back to. A Masterpiece game.
Sorry to tell you man but this is not a guide, you are basically just telling us whats written on the screen. Thanks but i can read myself... ):
I gotta agree. I have never played a torchlight game, got it for free from Epic, and I'm trying to figure out what the game is all about (I've played WoW but this isn't exactly the same)
You don't really need focus as a construction Engineer, because your Healing Robot will give you powerful mana boosts frequently when it's maxed out.
Thanks!

I love the engineer, not only can he wear the best armor but he can also summon.

Thank you!

Great video man :) just bought the game and cant wait to play endless hours on it :D thanks for the video!!! ::Subscribed::
so, to boost up damage, just invest in strength stats?
yes
@@apsintrapsin3073 10 years late, but thanks
Lol
Currently playing as STR+VIT+DEX heavy blitz type engineer.
Dat feel when you do an AoE critical damage with stun possibilities.
can you respec skill points (str dex etc) it seems kind of nessesary for this class if u want to try different specs
So is melee better then cannon, then? For dealing out damage?

cant wait until i finally get to play :D
And gun bots, and the passive under construction that gives more armor.
i was dead-set on an Outlander (i played the Vanquisher in the first Torchlight) but the Engineer bots look really cool :P

+health steal all your slots and never have to drink again 😉
Cannonades build charge more slowly than melee weapons which is why it's there.
thanks, couldn't read the descriptions myself so i went to youtube to find someone who can read them to me ...
Just got torchlight 2 in epic?
@@joshk3144 yes xD
@@HaikelTV same here. Haha
Thank you for the guide man ;)
Great guide! I like your video's
This is just my opinion after 20 hours of game play but no matter what spec you play focus is never a dump stat.
you EARNED this subscription bro
Not to diss TotalBiscuit, but I greatly prefer this British Gentleman's channel.
engineer, its just better at melee overall, healing bot+def bubble+shield bash+flaming hammer=better then anything the zerk can do

i feel like the engineer is also the palidin.
Yeah I do, if he sounded like me.
misleading title was expecting a GUIDe not an overview
tanky heimerdinger?
Your voice reminds me of Gareth from the Office UK :)
Same accent. TB's voice is far deeper and louder.
It doesn't seem to charge slowly at all and even then the one skill that does use it isn't that spectacular.
wtf sty lol , you did torchlight vids? XD
cool man !
go!!!! steampunk engineers!!
what am i doing here
Playing a Cannoneer atm
"guide"
I think he means he sound British XD
Dat generalization
Im subscribing to you man
Don't insult him like that.
Goon bot.
