Just pulled my 2015 Focus tailights out of the oven, they look incredible. Not sure how long they need to sit before I stick em on my car so I'm waiting 24hrs to be safe lol Thanks for the vid man!
it depends on taking them off I got a is350 lexus and you gotta take off the whole inner liner smh which is a pain in the ass so I left them on which was risky but I made sure I taped the car right and it came out amazing
Great video. First person I've seen say to use the oven. Just to be clear, the oven should cure any orange peel or rough spot without having to wet sand?
Thank you! It’s more for orange peel than it is for rough spots. You still may need to wet sand, but this is a good shot to try and avoid it. It will help to make the final product easier to see through as well.
Some people mask off the lights because they make the plastic shit so fragile nowadays, they don't want to risk having to pay 200 bucks for a new assembly because something snapped off removing it or because it got knocked on the floor. There's going to be a whole bunch of dudes buying new ones anyway because they put them in the oven and started watching RUclips vids.
The Oracle you have to be super careful with a heat gun, its too hot for the paint usually. If you do it from a distance and are gentle with it, it might be fine though!
How long did you "actually wait" to do the oven process. I know you said at least 4-5 hours and that really 24-48 for all chemicals to be released. Im just wondering how long you waited on this job?
Thanks for tips but i have a question , im not sure whether u already mentioned why or not but i found most of ppl do sand paper process to remove clearcoat layer but i think you didnt, is it not that necessary ? its gonna be way easier if we can skip that process.. thinking of doing it soon
Hoyeol Hur it’s not necessary! Some people like to do it so that the spray has a better surface to adhere to, but the VHT Nite Shades are designed for lenses so there is no need to sand before painting
Just tried using today. No happy with the results. I’ve always thought it was easy But to get a perfect match on both side is impossible. Plus taking it off was a fcuking nightmare I’ve to use a professional tinter To do mine. Cost £40 ( UK ) Perfect job No messing around
It does not wear off. You could sand it down and polish it, or remove it with chemicals- but your most efficient way would be to replace them (you can find full light assemblies online for cheap)
I've now watched three videos on how to apply BLACK VHT Nightshade, and not one of them has had the foresight (DUH) to show the finished product with the LIGHTS ON.
Yes. Make sure that you are baking them at a very low temperature if you choose to!! The wires are metal and take heat just fine. Solder won’t be too greatly effected either, you should be fine.
Gucci Flip Flops could be a few things. I would make sure that you are cleaning the lenses the best that you can. Degreaser or paint prep wipes. Then you have to make sure to shake it a ton, and keep shaking it every few seconds while painting!
You went all professional in the beginning and even talking about take your time do it right, and then you started spraying from the top down with a spray can🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@finnyscustoms2000 and how many spray cans tell you to spray from the top down 🤣? but your lights look great tho! I'm doing my too and I'm removing them thanks to you.
@@finnyscustoms2000 they look really good bro really. I was thinking of buying a tiny kit already cut out for my lights but after a few vht videos and yours especially because you removed your lights. I like the way you did the reverse with out vht it looks nice👌🤙
I love America thank you sir. I appreciate it. I will note to spray them horizontally in the future, but in my experience doing both lights with each stroke gives them both the same amount of tint instead of one being darker than the other.
Jesie Guillen last thing I need is for someone to put them in the oven too soon and blow their roof off of their house. It’s kind of like how we have to remind people that the floor is slippery when it’s wet 😂😂
Jesie Guillen yeah I have tried both. I did one with a ton of clear coat and wet-sanding, and the others baked. There really isn’t a ton of difference, but the clear coat and wet sanding has more potential of a glossy finish. You’ve got to be careful not to go through the clear coat though because I have sanded into the tint before and that will cause a lighter area on your lenses. Long story short, baking is way way easier to do. Hope this helps!
Dan Mcavena 38,000 people have seen this video and you’re the first person to say that, so I’ll take my odds. #getsomehobbies #youtubewarrior #nothingtodobutbitch
First of all you said tail lights do not have more then 2 screws BULLSHIT I have a cadillac and it has 4 screws. And second simple green is not the best thing to use in this process before painting your tail lights windex or soap and water is better. Awesome dude! Love it. Enjoy! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
I couldn't see the final product because of your logo on almost the entire screen!
I agree, a close up would have been nice to show how the product leveled out and became glossy.
u should spray with the bottle up-right but really good video. maybe an enclosed area too lol
Thanks for the tips. I will be tinting my taillights and healdights this weekend.
David Reyes my pleasure! Thanks for watching. Good luck!
subbed soon as you said stupid to paint tailight on a car/truck!!!

you must have a really big oven if you didn't take the lights off.
Result is phenomenal, now really tough is the line of dogs following him due to the Turkey and chocolate smells.... lolololol.

Pls again, What the temperature in the oven and how much minutes?
just to be sure.
Thanks
LAHOLM Observatörium you will want to go under 200. Most ovens will go to about 175. 15 minutes should do it
THIS LOOKS SICK !!!!!!
Muddy Bottom and it’s cheap and easy too!
Can you put on clear coat after the vht and put it in the oven? Or do you only put in oven after applying vht niteshade? Sanding is helluva process
Yeah I don’t see why not!
@@finnyscustoms2000 i just wanna get rid of the orange peel on the vht niteshade and clearcoat...hoping the oven takes care of that

J's H12 JHO u must be pretty dumb. U from uk so🤷🏻♂️
Well, you are british, so...
Would you suggest doing the oven method or using clear coat?
CTyranny both are good to do. Wet sanding too. It really just depends on how much work you would like to put in to get them to shine 😁
91% or 99% alcohol cleans best, dries way faster. Good video though.
Paa Hawkins thanks for the advice!
does this wear off eventually or is there anyway to take it off

Did your headlight have all the electrical intact when you put them in the oven??
Andy Hall there shouldn’t really be anything electrical because they are unplugged. Just a light bulb that is designed to take some heat 😁
Finny's Customs So all wires and bulbs are fine in that heat?
Yes. Make sure that you are baking them at a very low temperature if you choose to!! The wires are metal and take heat just fine. Solder won’t be too greatly effected either, you should be fine.
The oven doesn’t melt any of the seals for tail lights?
No, I did as low of a temp as my oven would go, for only ten minutes or so.
Hey I just wanna ask if the paint is permanent or is it possible to peel it off. Thanks
Davide fazzino plasti dip is a rubbery spray. It is peel-able.
Thank you!
Rodriguez Larry Thompson Shirley Lewis Laura
I was about to say, thank you Volts Wagon for easy to do taillights! Everything else is stupid to do. And darn I was so sure 🐸 Tape was paying you XD
SlimTarHeel 2 lol I know right! And no, I wish they were though!! 😂😂
Hey I was just wondering if anybody has got pulled over doing this
Justin Groff I have heard of it but never gotten a ticket myself. Use at your own risk
If I don’t do the oven step, should I go over the lights with a clear coat to give it the glossy look?
And you only did one coat correct?
I did two coats I believe. You will want to either wet sand it or do a clear coat, or both.
You know when you say don’t try this at home I’m gonna do it 😆
Sierra Hotel Alfa November Echo lol well hey at least I warned ya lol
Finny’s Customs true true 😆
When I’m spraying the vht why does it look all splotchy once it dries??? Am I holding the can too far away or something?
