An Aussie banana expert recently mentioned a ‘cane knife’ as essential pro gear. It looks like a machete with a hook - might do similar job as your saw + crowbar in one tool perhaps. If easier, you could ‘kill’ stems/corms from regrowing either by injecting a bit of diesel or possibly by digging a ‘bowl’ into the top of them and filling with water apparently, rather than having to dig up in a hurry. Sorry about storm and good luck with your clean up!
Hi, yes I do have many different tools and I do have a cane blade (machete with a hook) but for dragging the plants it cuts through and slices its way out. I used a crowbar and pick ax, the pic ax worked the best, just difficult to remove from plant after you drag it. all my tools are in some other videos.
@@TheFrugalHugelGardener Very strange.. maybe I never pressed send. My question was why do you bother to move all the chopped down bananas into a pile? That removes fertility from the system, why not just pile them up next to the survivors?
@@GrandpaCl I'm removing hundreds of plants, I need the working space to clean up every plant. I am putting them all into my compost pile. once composted, I will be mixing and using.
You will be fine these things grow like crazy 😂
So sorry the hurricane got your banana trees. Be safe working out there!
