Thanks, I know, but I did have a great season and had a freeze-full to get me by till next season. and we are now into next season and I have been filling my freeze :-)
You have Lots of patience and persistence. My wife was loving the banana leaves. Now not so much lol. I’m not cutting either. In SoCal zone 9b. 33 degrees to 50 at night. Appreciate your videos.
Thanks for watching my channel's videos, If you need some Banana plant help, want to contact me, or want to belong to a Banana Group, go to my Fasebook Banana Group, It's called ( FloridaBananaLovers ) on Fasebook.
Mine don't suffer that badly in Australia maybe because I don't live that far inland rather 40 kilometres (about.24 Miles) from the coast but go further inland by about 50-100 kilometres (30-60 Miles) where icicles hang off the fence wire during winter time then they're likely to die back like that. I grow the Lady finger,Blue Java & Cavendish variety of banana 🍌 plants, the smaller sucker plants do die back but they grow back during summer time. The Cavendish' banana 🍌 is a bit of an experiment because they're grow commercially in Northern Queensland in Zone 11 which is tropical but the other banana 🍌 plants will grow happily in USDA Zone 10,I am located just north of Sydney (Newcastle) so they grow o.k. there at a 32.67S latitude. My grandfather grew the Lady finger banana 🍌 plants commercially near the Queensland border in New South Wales in his day when he was alive at a 28°S latitude. Someone grows them down as far as Melbourne in Victoria at a 37°S latitude but the problem is that when the plants go dormant & it gets cold the skins on the bananas split !
Hi Russell, I live in zone 9a North Central Florida, just 7 miles from the river and ocean, I think it's more of a micro climate thing around here.? this year all of central Florida got hit with a deep freeze that got everyone's plants. oh and howdy down under lol
That’s not a hard freeze Where I come from hard freeze is when they are frozen to the ground solid What happens then cuz it’s 23f out here and I could play baseball with these
I admire your positive attitude. I'd probably be a lot more frustrated about losing so much fruit.
