"Mustahab" is never a justice for a sunnah which all of the companions follwed. Leave every argument, just show a single evidence that only one of the companion had trimmed his beard under the fist length. Forget the companions, what about the later two generations? I disagree here. It's obvious what the Prophet he himself practiced. So how could 1 assume that a beard maybe be short or only on the chin? It is like saying linguistically Salah means prayer or is synonymous to Dua so one who prays in any manner is in Salah. Refer to the opinions of Sheikh Asim al Hakeem and Dr Muhammad Salah. This is a subjective arguement and no real evidence to support that the beard can be short. The fact that there are several evidences to say that Sahabah grew to a fist length suggests that this was the RULE not the exception to the rule.
Yasir qhadi is very misleading in his teachings. He is always saying I think but never quote a hadith to support his arguments. According to the concensus of scholars it is forbidden to trim the beard below fist length and to let it grow naturally is the best option as the prophet (SAW) did himself. However it's permissable to trim it if it exceed fist as some of the sahabas did.
I'm Alhamdulliah I'm more grateful that the fact that I have a beautiful connecting beard at 15. I consider this gift as a major flex, not many people have an opportunity a chance to grow it. MashAllah, everything comes at an ease when you have sabr.
Some scholars say you can cut it to a fist full and here Yasir Qadhi somehow claims that this is the optimal length. Classical scholars didn't say explicitly you're allowed to grow it to the floor, which few men can even do even if they wanted to, so Yasir Qadhi argues they expected you to cut it. Then he says there's no harm to trim it further. He keeps making excuses to bring Muslims nearer to the Western standard and away from the Sunnah.
@@hkicgh7277 the video is not the scale. The brother isnt even a scholar. So he should have talked more wisely of the matter instead of manipulating muslims to agree more to his opinion. Even if it seems logical, this view is the weakest of the 3 opinions among the scholars. So we shouldnt just accept a certain view just because of a video without doing further research. Even if we do research, we are not allowed to claim that a certain view of the scholars is the right one, because we are not scholars. The brother in the video did a big mistake in his speech.

If you want respect for your opinion and those who follow it then model mutual respect. Subhaan Allaah. May Allah forgive us all. Ameen.
But aren’t the others “disparaging” as well when they take an interpretation to render a person *sinful* for something that might be “permissible” according to their opinion? It would be more divisive to label a group that styles their beards in such a manner (within the realm of the scholarly opinions) as disobeyers of Allah and his messenger...
We all can just chat about personal opinions or we can just ask, how long was the Prophet Muhammad SAWs beard. Im gonna follow that. I dont need any personal opinions of anyother person. Im gonna do what my Prophet SAW did. Period.
Saadi J. Khan Bro the whole reason there’s differences of opinions among scholars for all these issues is because certain issues have no clear evidence from Quran or sunnah. I guarantee that there’s no clear explicit narration where the Prophet (saw) commanded any specific length or how much. He simply said lengthen. The problem is, one group takes this to mean that you must let it grow infinitely, while there are authentic reports from the sahaba that they cut up to fist lengths. Meaning they saw nothing wrong with it. Yet the prophet (saw) never himself said only up to fist length... So what will you do? It’s not as easy to say you can discard all these opinions and just follow what the Prophet (saw) said when he was silent on some issues like this which are more complex.
@@symbiotezilla12345 I understand what you mean brother. But it is us whom have made it complex. Cutting it up to a fist length or just letting it grow are both under the same umbrella. But what you said is understandable, and i hope and pray to Allah that He guides us to his straight path and make us the followers of the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet SAW, ameen.
Saadi J. Khan I understand your viewpoint. Makes sense, but just know that some groups have gone to the extreme to label anyone who cuts AT ALL as disobeying the Prophet (saw). But Sheikh Yasir was saying that is too harsh of an opinion. I don’t think you will find anything about sahaba cutting below fist length. Instead cutting to fist length is the action of ibn Umar...
The beard is also a big part of Eastern European culture, we also (hungarian Magyar) many veterans warrior males wear long hair, like myself. It's an ancient tradition.
He lost me at 2:35 he says alot "I do not think or says I think". There is none he can quote that states that trimming less is allowed by even one 'alim, how can you trim more and not be sinfull? Because Yasir Qadhi "thinks" it? The sahabah and tabi'een understood the rullings better than all of us and all the scholars who came after that.. This video spreads falsehood, he himself is making rulings on his "own opinion" cause he himself trims his beard more than a fist. Bring proof to the table that states it is makruh and not haram to trim more than a fist of the beard? And even if it was makruh a wise muslim wouldn't want to miss a great reward with that, but this "Imam" does mmm, but unfortunately it is haram an not makruh (to cut more than the fist) and thus sinfull. Yasir Qadhi is a joke to just make his own rulling out of nowhere and nothing. If he himself wants to trim it that his choice but to do as if that is a rulling and preaching other muslim man it is allowed "as long as it a beard" tas if this is what Islam teaches or it would be "at least" makruh what nonsense falsehood is this. This is Ahlul Kalaam.. Please than how is it that the Prophet SAW did not say; have a beard (as long as it a beard according to the people that would be enough). No instead he said; trim the moustache and LEAVE the beard alone (i.e do not touch it cut it let it grow naturally and thick). I'm out.

This is the problem with our practice of islam. We have turned a beautiful deen into rituals. Our creator is interested in our taqwa. Not the size of our beard
Assalamu Alaikum. Taqwa alone is not sufficient. For actions to be accepted 2 conditions must be fulfilled: 1) They should be done sincerely for the sake of Allah 2) They should be in accordance with the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad Sallahu Alahi Wasalam
Rituals? In the quran it is mentioned that Allah asks the Prophet SAW to tell us that we need to follow the Prophet SAW to become beloved to Allah. The Prophet SAW himself said follow my Sunnah and the Sunnah of my Sahaba. The Prophet SAW not only had a bread himself, which gives the beard the status of Sunnah, rather he also told the ummah to grow the beard which covers the Hadith aspect as well. Dear brother the matter of the beard is far from being just a ritual. May Allah protect us all from the footsteps of the Devil, and my He make us the followers of the true and beautiful examples of our Prophet SAW and the deen brought to us through Him SAW. Ameen.
Im simply saying that we are becoming like other religions. All about the crosses and statues. Now it is about how short your pants is and how long your beard is and 10 extra sawaab for blowing your nose in a certain way. Lots of these hadith are questionable. If you want to follow every sunnah then also ride a camel and use 2 stones to clean yourself in the toilet. I believe that my creator looks at intention and the goodness of the heart. Not a big beard but treating your wife and employees badly
If you remember the story in Quran" when the Bany Isreal did the calf warship and as the Musa came back so He grab and shake the beard of Haroon AS that why you didn't stop them." From this story we can clearly interpret that the beard should be minimum at least one hand. It mean that Haroon AS had long beard so that Musa AS grabbed.
﷽. - Alhamdulillah for a beneficial video! I also wanted to add, despite it not being asked in the video, is that some of the looks of beards can be related to genetics. Some brothers can't grow a beard. Some can't grow a beard longer than their chin. Some can grow their beards down below their pecks and so on and so forth . I do understand what the Sahabah did and the bare minimum of having and trimming a beard, but like the sheikh mentioned, if a brother looks like he "shaved" his beard and muslims are automatically labeling the brother as "sinful" it wouldn't be islamically wise to say. Allah knows everything in this dunya and in the akhirah while we only know based on certain events, actions, etc. Insha'Allah, we refrain from excessive assumptions and do our best to refrain from going into the path of Shaytan. Ameen. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.
Since we are hearing personal opinions, then I guess everyone has opinions. Its just that some people have studied more and so they can say "I dont consider this correct" more openly than others. Scholarly opinion =/= personal opinion. This is the position he holds as a scholar. It is his scholarly opinion, because there are scholars with other opinions (recall the beginning)
How he claims “this is majority opinion” and “some scholars say” insinuates his subjective claim. Reality is the opinions he reguards as “some” are the majority opinion and the majority opinions he refers to are actually the outliers. Allah knows best.
If you can understand urdu, do check Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza's explanation on the matter, he gives evidence from Quran and Sunnah regarding the matter. Also kindly do not diss someone's opinion because he is not a "scholar". Do listen and check his opinion from Quran and Sunnah.
Also Darhi is Farz or Wajib, not its length. The daleel is from Quran that Shaitan said he would push people to ruin the Takhleeq, or what Allah has made. The other Daleel is that the Prophet PBUH in one hadith curses the women who try to look like men and those men who try to look like women. Hence, if you have facial hair on your face covering the chin and cheeks which is enough for people to generally call it a beard, than you are obeying Allah and His Messenger PBUH. If you keep it longer, up till the "Nehar" which is the point at the bottom of your neck which allignes with the shoulder bones, than that is Mustahab because the Prophet Muhammad PBUH's beard naturally grew to that length, hence one of the reasons why some Sahaba cut their beards after a wrist full.
Keeping a beard is quite a struggle to go through for men, as its high maintenance. I love keeping one and I pray to have a fuller beard inSha ALLAH, but dryness, itching and constant trimming and balancing makes it quite a task. Due to that shaving I have hair at my neck a bit deeper and I shave but I was always concerned deep down whether I should shave off these hair or not, because I usually observe most Ulemahs who never shaved don't have that much down and they don't shave hair on neck. Thank you for making it clear. But is it allowed to pluck hair above natural beard line on Cheeks to make it neat if there are few hair over there?

Fun fact: A lot of normal, healthy men are unable to grow beards. The hadith where the prophet PBUH commanded the sahaba to grow their beards and trim their moustaches has a very specific context around it that should not be ignored. It was a time when the "mushrikeen" grew out only their moustaches and shaved their beards entirely, and so thats why the prophet PBUH commanded the sahaba to grow out their beards and trim the moustache - as an act of defiance so as to avoid looking like them and to be able to more easily identify a muslim. We live in an age where growing your beard is fashionable in all cultures and religions, mushrik and muslim alike; the context and reasoning around growing the beard no longer applies and not to mention, with the spread of islam, there are now multiple ethnic groups practicing who are far less likely to have those Arab genetics for growing a glorious beard (Ie. Asians). I'm personally a man of North African decent who, at best, can only grow a patchy moustache, and a hideous, tiny chin garden; nothing but a few stranded hairs on the sides. My father has a similar, patchy mess at 50 years old, only a lot more dense, and has never been able to grow a proper beard. Allah knows best, but in my opinion, it would be unfair to consider men who choose to clean shave sinful, all things considered.
You actually have mentioned a very reasonable reason, and I admire your way of thinking. There's another matter should be raised, and it's: if the hadith of the prophet was in certain context, does what you reasoned apply in all matters? I believe this question is very important, answering it will say if those who shave completely consider to be sinful or not. Fiqh scholars and Asool Al-fiqh would be able to tell for sure, Allah said ask those who know if you didn't know. Please let me know if you found an answer.
Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "Cut the moustaches short and leave the beard (as it is)." Sahih Bukhari. Book Dress - Hadith 781 What does leaving mean?? You people are misleading the ummah as much as you can..
Fiqh is not derived from a single hadith in isolation but rather looking at the big picture: what do all of the ayat of Qur’ān and all of the ahadith say about this? How did the Sahaba and tabi’ūn understand this? What was their practice? There’s also the issue of language. A word in the Qur’ān or ahadith may have been understood differently by the Sahaba. You’re focusing on the English word “leave” from a translation of the hadith. How was the Arabic word used in those times? How do we learn the understanding of the Sahaba and tabi’un? We study the writings of their students, the earliest scholars of Islam. Many novices don’t understand this but there were different opinions among the Sahaba and tabi’ūn on many issues of fiqh. That’s ok because you will find many of those different opinions have valid justifications and arguments. As long as you’re sincerely trying to obey Allah and the prophet ﷺ - by learning the practice and understanding of the earliest generations- and not following your own whims, you’re good.
i think if you compare two logics that messenger has said 'let the beard grow' mean it has to be lengthy as the statement is different from 'grow the beard' and how much minimun we have seen is fist length so it is the bare minimum as if less than fist would have been allowed there were over million sahaba and tabieen atleast one oft them would have less than a fist of a beard
Its advisable for anyone to talk and inform to others from the Sayings of the prophet PBUH that "Leave the beard and cut the Mustaches# rather than doing self Qiyas and miss leading the people
Who is Yasir Qadhi to decide what lenght is the right and what is wrong? He's just defending his own fashion. When almost all sahabis and prophets grew beards who is he to decide after 1400 years that trimming the beard to as his beard is not a sin? There are ahadith in which Prophet Muhmmad SAWW told us to not follow the non Muslims and. I urge to all Muslims to not fall victim of these celebrity scholars like Yasir Qadhi and Omer Suleiman who after 1400 years have their own stance about something which is established in the ummah and proven by hadiths.

Prophet Muhammad said that to a bunch of people in the desert in certain time , he didn't say it to become a law for every generation, for ever ... the proof the hadith never meant to be a source of laws , the only source of laws is Quran. because Prophet Muhammad himself said do not write down Hadith (Sahih Bukhari) . Without depending on the Hadees....
People belonging to your school of thought are so dumb. Their entire arguement trying to ditch the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW is lame. No hadith ever can overule what Quran says. for example panishment of Adultry in Quran is 100 lashes .. not stoning, like what hadith says. We should have a good methodolgy..Al Daraqotni (Islamic scholar) said that there are about 4000 hadith that are actually true... see , the word Sahih , is according to each scholar , for example Imam Bukhari didn't accept some hadiths that Imam Muslim accepted and marked as Sahih.. and vice versa .. so the word Sahih is according to some scholar opinion.. and those are human beings they can make errors or lack means to investigate hadiths more.... What i'm saying is that any hadith that contradicts Quran , should not be accepted, and that the most important things like Akkida (faith) or Sharia (Law making) , should be derived from Quran .. other things , simple things can be derived from hadith. Hadith caused the Ummah to split into many schools of thoughts, and sects .. While we have the same Quran , the same faith (Tawheed) .etc. and people used some hadiths to justify terrorism and aggression.. it's a big fitna Wallah. By the way, I don't belong to any school of thought. I'm Muslim who thinks we should read, memorize , understand and study Quran many many times before going to studying hadith. .. I'm not killing anyone over some hadith. I don't know about you.
I thought we should be asking questions like *how can we be more involved in political arenas* to for instance protect our rights and convictions from regulations targeted against us, or *how could we produce another scientific Avicennas* ?

Linguistic gymnastics, to get lost in multiple "opinions" and minority opinions as usual - cut the faff to what is authentic with evidence, and many of these opinions fall away. If we cannot stick to what is authentic, don't kid yourself; know there is a shortcoming and make dua for forgiveness and strength and insha'Allah, one day, we will get there.

Assalam wa alaikum, I'm Muslim boy of 16 years from India... I wanted to know what to do if ur mustache are very thick and u have very very less beard Please tell me..
Just keep the moustache slightly trimmed and not too bushy. And grow your beard but don’t make it stylish and faded to attract attention. By all means style it but you know what I mean..
You are only 16 years old. You won't have a thick beard so fast. Just be patient and keep clean shaving your beard and after a few years it will grow more thicker In Sha Allah.

Boys, don't just grow a beard, take good care of it as well. You can still keep a beard and still make it look neat and tidy. If you think a beard looks messy, there are beard care products out there that you can use to keep your manly manes in check. I find it such a shame that westerners are keeping their beards (and making it trendy) but the average Muslim just shaves it off with the excuse that it makes them look unkempt. Let's change the perception!

@@TheOneWhoMotivates223 well, at 15 you'll be expecting more growth right up until your late 20s. Nothing to worry about, bro. It's just nature taking its time. Whether to trim or not it's totally up to you - it doesn't affect growth. But, if you choose to keep your beard, please look after it. It's just like head hair - you need to care for it, i.e.; keep it moisturised, clean and tidy. Luckily, there are a lot of beard styling and grooming tips on RUclips.

Support you
Totally agree with you
Yasir qhadi is very misleading in his teachings.

Period.
Saadi J. Khan
Bro the whole reason there’s differences of opinions among scholars for all these issues is because certain issues have no clear evidence from Quran or sunnah.

I understand your viewpoint. Makes sense, but just know that some groups have gone to the extreme to label anyone who cuts AT ALL as disobeying the Prophet (saw). But Sheikh Yasir was saying that is too harsh of an opinion.

For actions to be accepted 2 conditions must be fulfilled:
1) They should be done sincerely for the sake of Allah
2) They should be in accordance with the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad Sallahu Alahi Wasalam

Alhamdulillah for a beneficial video! Since we are hearing personal opinions, then I guess everyone has opinions. Its just that some people have studied more and so they can say "I dont consider this correct" more openly than others. I guess the Ijmah of the ulama is not important anymore.

So this is just Yasir Qadhi's opinion smh
Scholarly opinion =/= personal opinion. This is the position he holds as a scholar. It is his scholarly opinion, because there are scholars with other opinions (recall the beginning)
Yep. This is his personal opinion.

May Allah bless us with fulfilling the Sunnah in however way one tries
No way, you have to follow as true muslim & it is not so difficult also..
I may be the only one, but I have noticed it, its Trafalgar Law talking to Yasir Qadhi xD... Awesome man!
Jazak Allah. So beautifully explained..I used to shave off my beard in my early teens (May Allah and his Prophet forgive me) but now I don't Alhamdolilah.
Say 'May Allah forgive me' - not what you said. Only Allah can forgive a sin against him. The Prophet (SAW) was just a messenger.
This was the question i thinking too much about beard

It's obligatory, not to make you look nice.
The most beautiful man to ever walk on this earth was the prophet s.a, so if he kept it all the way to the chest then we should try to do the same. However, we must remember, that it doesn't mean we look like some hobo. Instead, we should maintain it just like the prophet s.a used to maintain all of his hair.
Now this doesn't means that we should trim the beard for fashion or to attract woman

Not one person is saying how to look after the beard! Some people have spots that causing problem, so how do you look after your beard skin🤷♂️
Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "Cut the moustaches short and leave the beard (as it is)."
Sahih Bukhari. Book Dress - Hadith 781
What does leaving mean??
You people are misleading the ummah as much as you can..
Muhammad Hasan Siddiqui agreed akhi
It is definitely mandatory to keep a beard.. Allah knows best.. brothers and sisters, avoid listening to yasir qadhi..
Beard must be of a type in which one can say he has beard. Just like having hair upto such length that the skin is not visible in it..
im a simple man, i see YQ in a video and immediately turn it off and warn others of his deviant ways.
Amazing as always

Prophet Muhammad said that to a bunch of people in the desert in certain time , he didn't say it to become a law for every generation, for ever ... the proof the hadith never meant to be a source of laws , the only source of laws is Quran. because Prophet Muhammad himself said do not write down Hadith (Sahih Bukhari) .
Also in the Quran :
[This
is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your
breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a
reminder to the believers.
Follow,
[O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not
follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.
7:2 and 7:3 (Sahih International)
((( What has been revealed to you *from your Lord* ))))
But...In the Quran, Allah(SWT) also says to obey Allah and obey the Messenger (SAW)...And most part of the shariah is from the sunnah...Your basic daily prayers and the way to perform them comes from the sunnah...And moreover Hadees are also treated as a type of Wahi (revelation)..So you cannot just derive laws from the Qur'an.... Without depending on the Hadees....
People belonging to your school of thought are so dumb. Their entire arguement trying to ditch the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW is lame. The funniest aspect of your long lecture is that you try to prove your point in the end by quoting a Hadith of the Prophet SAW written in the Bukhari. You killed it bro. LOL
You cant even follow the very basic aspects of the Law and obligations of Islam in the Quran without refering to the Hadith.
May Allah protect us all from the Footsteps of the Devils. Ameen.

Prayer is practical sunnah, passed on by tousands of ppl, to millions. From generation to another. It's something all Sahaba saw and applied. Show me any hadith that is narrated originally by more than 4.
If Allah in Quran said about testemony in court , that we need 4, then for hadith it should be even more.
What you said, about the verse about following the messenger (pbuh) guidance, it's during his lifetime. It was revealed to those who lived at that time.
Other thing, why would Omar (RA) burn all hadith that was written at his time, and command Abu Hurayra (RA) not to narrate any hadith? ( Source: Siyar A'lam al-Nubala is by Imam adh-Dhahabi)
Ryan, my brother... Qur'an's determination of number of witnesses for different cases is different...For money transactions the number different for adultery that number differs.. However that's a different tangent..I hope and pray that we can see the flaw in the logic in order to improve ourselves...Your argument was that the sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) was to a bunch of Arabs living at his time...And now you're arguing about the authenticity of Hadees (implying witnesses) that's a different issue. The point that I've made there was Qur'an in and itself is not sufficient as a source for interpretation...You need the sunnah of the Prophet(pbuh) to interpret the law especially....In that regard I've given the example of salah. Having the difference of opinion on particular issue by the scholars is because of lack of direct indication in that particular matter..They still try and depend on the Hadees sources as much as they can to try and come to correct conclusions....Hadees are by the consensus of Scholars the most important references....I pray that Allah grants us understanding...Please think about it....Don't discard the Hadees....

I'm not against Sunnah, but we need to give Quran its proper value.
Mustahab is something, if you do is good, if donot not bad
