Getting 600hp to the wheels out of series 60 is easy these motors come from factory very limited. The ecm alone has 6+ hp-trq limiters combined with low injection timings. Removing limiters and adjusting timing and fuel maps these 12.7 can put down over 600 to the wheels and over 2000trq. I tuned bunch of them my last 12.7 I had on dyno made 578 wheel hp and 1963 wheel trq on 30 psi running a stock turbo stock everything. Owner didn't want anymore so we stopped. This is on 13 degrees of injection timing which is very conservative
@@keepontrucking9595 what's the height of your stacks? I'm trying to stay as close as I can to the stock height.....should I go with the 12'10 and risk it being short or 13'4 and just cut it down if it's too tall?
@@Runndeep the 14L is or was available at 605hp. My glider has a 1996 12.7, PDI turbo, manifold and crank damper with a Diesel Freak tune, it's numbers are 657hp, 2043tq at the crank. This winter it's getting a full rebuild at Detroit, adding the PDI cam and marine injectors, we're looking for at least 725hp. As far as a factory 600 12.7, I have never seen it and I've owned Detroits for 22 years. Doesn't mean they don't exist, I've just never had the pleasure of owning one.
What drives me crazy is when Cat fanboys compare the C15 to the 12.7 and talk shit. We are talking about 15.2 liters vs a tiny 12.7. Considering the size difference, the fact that the cat is uprateable to 625/2050, it's impressive that the little green Detroit machine can easily be tuned for 600/2050 if done by a good tuner.
I love the sound ou that detroit 12.7 sounds good

Definitely not factory, probably just turned up and might've added a bullydog tune that'll get you 600+ hp
