  • El Secreto is a contemporary home designed to harmonize with the natural landscape of José Ignacio. The house is elevated on pillars to preserve the pristine dunes and maximize ocean views. Its central feature is a large inner courtyard that brings natural light into the heart of the home and creates a circular flow between the bedrooms and communal spaces. This innovative layout fosters a strong connection between the inhabitants and the surrounding environment.
The social areas of the house are designed for indoor-outdoor living. The open plan layout seamlessly connects the dining room, living room, kitchen, and barbecue area, encouraging residents to spend time together and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The integration of a deck further enhances the connection to nature and creates a space for relaxation and entertainment.

No disrespect but the last thing this house does is harmonize with nature.

It ‘harmonises’ by being low lying and raised off the ground on pile foundations. It’s still a built form, not organic!

Not for me...too much concrete, no protection against insects and burglars...
an architect dream which doesn't cope with simple reality use

Gomez is not a good designer; I saw most of his designs.

I love it. Built for the views and climate. Good use of materials and like the arrangement around a courtyard.
      Technology can protect against intruders.

@@MsChitterchat ...no garage; no cozy outer spaces to hang out after "siesta"; no service spaces to hang the washed clothes; no service patio for the kitchen; poor bathrooms; outdated kitchen; not enough rooms height; too much dark inside. The weather is not good in Uruguay; is similar to UK
