29 Euros to travel in that kind of quiet and comfort seems good to me! Ok it is not the newest train, trim is a little tired in places and the bright green everywhere looks cheap.
But anyone who lives in the UK knows you can pay a lot more than £29 to travel half that distance on trains that aren't even half as fast or 1/4 as nice as this!
I think Thalys and Eurostar should combined there operations and become one company because then there would be a lot more services to more destinations
They are both owned by french government so i dont think it'll ever happen.
Yes but it would make financial sense to merge and simplify there operations and give them the opportunity to expand
well...

Nice to see the old girl saved from scrap. Shame lots weren't so lucky and are in the big depot in heaven 🤕
Incredible that we're now at the stage where the class 373 is called "the old girl". It's definitely appropriate to do so thesedays, I'm just baffled by how time flies!
Some of them are just in a cruel form of purgatory, rotting on a Ligne Classique siding in france. You should just search 'abandoned Eurostar'
@@metrofilmsespana3880 The big depot? For Eurostar heaven is the big LGV line in heaven. Shame the class's 373 suffered severe corrosion. That's what made replacing almost entirely more cost effective for Eurostar.
Here in the USA we are about to replace our “old” Acela trainsets with new Pendolino-based Avelia Liberty trains. I wish we could keep using the old Acelas on other lines, but only the Boston-Washington Northeast Corridor is electrified.
@@OuijTube WHAT? You only have ONE electrified line? I knew the infraestructure was bad but not this much
Think you will find these old Eurostar trains actually have more room than the new ones? As someone from the north of England I am quite jealous, on my local line they still use "Pacer" trains, you would not believe how bad they are unless you have travelled on one. Thanks for the film.
Late, but the newer Eurostar E320s have significantly more space than the the old eurostars
Pacer trains have something other trains don't have though
@Benjamin Téry Yeah they do have something other trains don’t have: Uncomfortable seating, bumpy and bouncy ride and constant noise, whether that be squealing from the wheels, rattling from the inside of the train or the engine, all while being exposed fully to draft thanks to bus doors.
Aren't they based on a bus?
@@paulwhitear4983 Most are slightly altered bus style bodies built by bus builders yes. Very early prototypes are literally buses stucks on a train frame (see class 141) but most are built in the cheaper style of a bus and have fixed frames with 4 wheels per carriage, rather than the more 'proper' style trains from the era such as a BR class 156.
Excellent trip report! The look/price/ and timing seemed like a great deal...Thanks for sharing !!! :):):)
Absolutely loved this trip report. Great and very funny and also informative comments. Subscribed!
Very cool and good trip report.
You explainex all important facts and Made sone jokes, very cool.
Il like this train too.
Your videos are my favourite. When I don't know what to watch, I watch your videos! Keep up the hard work! 🙂🙂
They should have recycled all the scrapped ones. They all deserved it. Even the abandoned Eurostar.
Oh yes!! this is my train tu brussels, what a memories!! thank you ... such times! full of joy and cafes full of smoke, wine and songs
8:00 yes, because it's always a good idea to stick your fingers in the power socket.
What?! I didn't know about this train. :O Also, it's barely spring and at 8 PM the sun is still out, that's impressive! ♥
1:15 buzz lightyear themed train
Nice video ! I’m more of a aviation fan but I like train trips to. They are very fun.
Somehow, I already knew that this was a low-cost train. I always assume that any planes or trains with a cheap looking but bright colourful livery is a low-cost carrier. Lol. No hate though. I'm a big fan of anything low-cost. Back in the days only rich people could travel and I believe that anyone should travel and low-cost carriers offer that opportunity for anyone to get out and travel and visit different places. I only wish that there would be more low-cost carriers. Hopefully in the future and years to come, the lowcosts will be dominant.
Not perfect but seems like a great value for the price. Clever of them to sell the little jump seats by the doors for 10 euro. Pretty noisy but like you said, a good deal if you're broke.
Those seats were used by the crew when It was a Eurostar?
Thanks, good video! The first and last cars were for semi-business, I remember being upgraded once to the first car going to Paris. Also shame about the bar car, they could at least install some vending machines!
IZY has a lot of potential. It's a shame that right now they're restricted to just Paris Gare du Nord to Brussels Zuid. If this service is successful I would expect to see IZY services to Amsterdam and Cologne. There's even the possibility of low cost services to London especially because they use old Eurostar sets which means they can already use the channel tunnel. IZY could become the Ouigo of northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands however it all depends on the success of this first route. But it's also obvious that if IZY is a failure Thalys won't lose too much money. They have clearly cheaped out on the set and have refurbished them quite cheaply as well. It's actually very clever
Pity it failed :( the price was amazing. Well you’ll never know, maybe they restart something similar soon.
Encore, une vidéo superbe! J’ai appris quelque chose!
My train line is the Transilien H. I live in Bessancourt. I saw my first IZY (tgv PBA) a few months ago. And yea its a huge variety of trains, its the biggest station of Europe (no joke). Nice video tho ;)
Nicely done, mate!! Just a good trip report as always! I have a suggestion for a train trip: take the Thalys/ICE from Brussels to Cologne/Frankfurt and make from that train a new trip report! ;)
Yep it's on my plan for Saturday, Paris-Brussels ;)
About trains in Norway, if you're up for breathtaking views, I recommend the long distance train from Oslo to Trondheim, or Oslo to Bergen. If you're up for high speed, Oslo to Gothenburg. If you just wanna ride the FLIRT, which goes only in the Oslo area, I recommend the city of Drammen, which is close to Oslo.
Another great video. I appreciate your humour.
Good to see not all the old eurostar trains went to scrap or just left to rot and I love waffles
Tres bien cette video! Merci! Grand Felicitations d‘Allemagne! 💕🇫🇷et 🇧🇪
That livery looks so lit 🔥
Thank you for the report. Well done!
Eurostar could literally do the same thing for Paris to London routes. They already have British Air and Air France running for their money so why no do the same go EasyJet and Rynnair?
Also, I think Thalys could remove the bar car and replace them with passenger cars (like Ouigo) to add more capacity.
they have snap eurostar but the only catch is you dont decide the time of your departure (only am or pm, which can be practically an early morning or last train in the night) - fares are starting at £25 i think
I Guess they wont do it as long as they have a Monopoly on that route
I love your train reports
Merci pour ta video ca me donne encore plus envie de prendre l'izy
Hi from France
Btw I miss so much this TER with the green Picardie logo on it
I wasn't sure how long it would last when it first started, but they seem to have carved out a niche for themselves. The old Eurostar's showing its age a bit now though.
i just subscribed because of your content being well put together! maybe try eurostar to london the next time?? great work as always!
In one month, follow us on IG, you'll see my incoming trip :)
Thank you for the video! Merci! Thumb up! What a great product for 10€!
You are awesome! subscribed!
Is that still in service? And if it is, is there an information on what times this train is riding. Since they were new I ever wanted to ride one of this original Eurostar Trains but never made until they went out of service with Eurostar. Would bei great to catch this one.
Apparently, a new line opened not long ago called the "leman express" a TER service that goes to Switzerland. I guess something to replace the old line and the coral coaches.
Thanks for a great report.
Super vidéo 👏🏾
Certainly looks interesting in this livery.
Nice video as usual. Good to see more low cost trains starting in Europe. The only thing which I personally dislike are the lengthy boarding procedures. I have a question though, what is the top speed of these trains on classic lines
Depend on the section of the lines. In France classic lines can have a top speed of 220 km/h but its very rare, most of classic lines are operated at 140/160km/h (the case of my train)
Simply Railway
Oh, Good to know. Thanks.
It would and wouldn't be surprising to me if Hornby's next OO/HO scale Eurostar run (after the Yellow submarine Eurostar) would be this IZY Eurostar. Honestly it wouldn't be a bad fit.
You should try Snälltåget from Berlin to Malmö. It is now the last remaining train-ferry service in northern Europe. But I have a feeling it will not be long before it disappears.
Beau voyage bravo pour cet expérience
I wonder if izy owns an old e300 is it possible that they could potentially be able to operate to London. I’m just saying this as a possibility and I doubt they would do it but that train is capable of it right? After all it was used by Eurostar.
Nice video!
Nice video! i would like to ask a question. Do these seats need reservation?
I thought all old Eurostar trains got scrapped because Eurostar had a deal that they had to be scrapped so they couldn’t be used in any way against them competition wise in the future?
Eurostar still owns the trains that are leased to another company, Thalys. Both are owned by SNCF. No competition here.
The old Eurostar trains were scrapped because they have corrosion from all that salt exposure every day for 20 years
Is it run on budget airline principles? Hence no bar.
Hope they do this to all the other E300 trains
izy train is high speed is good nice video 👍
Which site did you use to book? There are many "official" sites on the web, I don't know which is scam or overpriced? I see Paris to Brussel about 90€ now in 2 weeks booking.
So the toilets on ex-Eurostar are nothing better than portable toilets?
Very good views
in Vietnam, you have to pay for approx. 55 Euros for a trip about that distance with a blazing speed of 65 kph, and the interior of those trains look like they were from the 50s'
I hope Thalys refurbish this to be well configured for the line. Possibly bring another one to help this 373
Hi! Your videos are very nice! I hope one day to come to Greece and review our trains!
She is old but beautiful n strong congrats for embellishing n serving thank u
Super 💓😘
does someone check your passport when traveling by train?
Super video
Is there a limit for luggage size?
You love the colour is green and purple. You took 373213 + 373214 is the former Eurostar train but I think 374s took over the 373s or maybe 373s still doing the service to London St Pancras International.
What website do you buy ticket from?
Nice vid, are these trains still in use
hi, Thanks for sharing. I have questions. 1. How tall are you? The 2nd class seat pitch looks tight for you. 2. Does the 2nd class seat have a manual seat moving button? Thanks a lot
1m87 :) and yes they have a manual seat moving
@@SimplyRailway same height as me
Foarte frumoasa Gara de Nord
How many sets were save by Izy? Glad they are finding use by someone else. Especially today with greener long distance travel is being pushed. I think the ones that were scrapped/left to rot, is a waste of a reusable resource.
I have heard Izy might scrap them now 😑
Even SNCF used to use ex-Eurostar 373s for their TGVs
To Infinity and Beyond!!!!!
Great value. It’s insane how much you have to pay for a ticket between Amsterdam and Brussels
Amsterdam and Brussels you can take the dutch NS train direct (intercity direct) for pretty cheap!
Would they make a class 374 IZY
Nice to experience the IZY coaches. Is your spelling checker on holiday too?
I miss the classic Eurostar
Same
10:22 Same chime from when these operated cross channel services from the UK with eurostar
Tu sais comment ça se passe pour le billet le moins cher où on n'est pas sûr d'avoir une place assise ?
I actually quite liked your video but more so you commentary. Im thinking of going from Brussells to Berlin but I want to spoil myself and treat myself to first class. Is it worth it ? How expensive ?
probably too late now, but theres a new sleeper train on that route
but the window curtains?
I'd like to see an operation in the UK using HSTs & IC225s from Glasgow or Edinburgh to £67 standard class and £103 first class is a ridiculous price, The British railways network needs a service like IZY to rival domestic air services such as EasyJet, Ryanair and British Airways.
I miss old 373 Izy eurostars! (;
Bonne Vidéo
mais il est tout beau cet Euro star rénové bravo a eux l'idée est bonne
I'm surprised they already scrapped so many Eurostar trains. After all they're not that old. German ICE 1 trains were built in 1991 and are supposed to run another 10 years.
If i'm not mistaken, those old Eurostar trains already had lots of corrosion from being exposed to the salty environment daily for 20 years.
Stickers on a 300 km/h train. Lol. As for the headrest I always put part of my jacket over it. Imagine how many people who left their head sweat on it....
So why do people cho0se for normal thalys over izy again if it's cheaper or why would people choose inoui instead of ouigo, people go for cheapest right? or not? why would they choose for the mre expensive ones in the future?
thalys has much better frequency, more comfortable seats, it's faster (takes 1 hour less). and izy doesn't appear in normal search yet (e.g. belgium and thalys webpage doesn't show them)
0:55 I've got to say, my heart bled about your sandwich - profoundly upsetting, no doubt.
The train you were on is the same train as the old Eurostar
Awesome! Subscribed although I would rename the channel to "Simply Trains"! Simply Railway doesn't role off the tongue.
IZY is new to me. Looks like a 707 of trains...🤭 Funky colors but 1990s design.
Tehere vonderfull only train video nice gress woood the way on you best effect
At least, the renovation for Ouigo is better. Here it’s just adding some flashy things.
Love your videos!
Take the german ICE,they are very comfortable!
I'll try :)
@@SimplyRailway But try not to get a redesigned ICE 3 or a ICE 4. Both have god-awful seats and disgusting bright lights.
nielskut That‘s true. It was a big mistake to choose these hard seats.
The old ones are still good aren‘t they?
Are you from Germany?
@@toms9704 Yes
Train name is E300
Company Eurostar
Used by TMST and SNCF
Formed of 20 and 18 coaches
Tu pourais faire une video de l’interloire v200 ou le ter 200 alsace? :)
TER 200 Alsace cela sera fait cette été :)
And the rail companies are also retiring electric units made in 1977-79
YES YES YES Merci
So interrsting:D
I really miss this service. I hope low-cost direct services return soon on this route.
Much needed for broke people like me. 😢
You put this in the UK Trains playlist lol
Technically, it is a part British train, being an Eurostar set...
The most saddest story i've ever heard😭😭😭😭😭
A subway sandwich is going cold. ☹️
