I'm 3 years in growing my greys. I had enough of hiding behind boxes of colours and destroying my hair ! Growing my greys felt like I'm gaining my freedom and growing my confidence as I truly am! Not care of others opinions and judgements . And then I realised all the insecurity was in my own mind to begin with ! I admire your beauty and courage to discover yourself and your beauty as you are !

You are gorgeous!! I started my silver hair journey about 3 months ago, and I love following the journey of other women who are also going cold turkey like me. Isn't it so interesting how we all have such different patterns of gray and silver in our hair? Just knowing that there's so much support out there inspires me so much. Anyway, can't wait to see your next videos....keep on rockin silver sister!! 💕💕

Oh my goodness - thank you for all your sweet compliments! 🤗💗 I'm the same - it has been so much fun to see everyone's unique patterns and colors of silver! And there are so many women embracing it now, I just think that is so cool! I especially love the support of the silver sister community, it has made a huge difference. Thank you again for all your kindness, I totally had a rotten week and you completely cheered me up. I hope you have an awesome day silver sister!🤍

The silver looks stunning! It really sets off your blue eyes. Don't listen to the nay-sayers like the cashier, those are the kind of people who need to put others down to feel good themselves. I'm glad you're happy with your decision to go natural & am looking forward to seeing how it looks with a new cut. Embrace life!

Wow, thank you so much for all your sweet compliments and support! I really appreciate that! 🤗💗💗 9 times out of 10, everyone has been so supportive and I think that's why when she made those comments, it really took me back. I forget sometimes that this can be kinda a taboo thing to do and make some people uncomfortable. In the end, everyone is different but this has been a game changer for me and I've never felt better. 😊 Thank you again! Love that - embrace life!!! 💗💗💗 Hope you have a wonderful day!

I'm 55 and always dyed my hair and I always had thick full hair people always commented how nice it was then ...I had kids it fell out went thin and basically my hair wasn't what it was and it would thin to a point I'd panic then it would grow again...I've now had enough and I'm not dying anymore 😊 I'm growing my grey out and I'm only may be 2 months in but I don't care I like it ...I might not in a few months so I've got to stay strong and videos like your help

Hello! Your video popped up so I had to watch. I think your natural color looks great with your pretty face. When you said the woman at the store was telling you that you should color your hair and how it really bothered you, maybe made you question your decision, I was thinking about my experience many years back when I was talking with my therapist back then about something and she was questioning why I didn't take a plane instead of a train to a destination, and why I didn't rent a car when I got there, and my immediate answer was about the cost. She wondered if we were struggling with money (no) and said something about people my age (empty nesters) usually can do what they want (financially-speaking). Since we choose to live simply and I choose not to work secularly, I was feeling defensive, like she was saying something is wrong with my choices. It bothered me for a whole week. I felt like I had to justify myself. I took it too personally. When I had my next appointment it came up again. I had not prepared myself but when I realized that I did not have to defend myself and decisions between my husband and I, I said, "I think this bothers you more than it does me." and she thought a se ond and said, "You know, I think you're right.", I said, "I think maybe you need to see Shelly next door." (the other therapist) 😉🙄😜 and we both laughed! When I realized it wasn't MY issue but hers(she had more of an emotional investment in my choice of train over plane and not renting a car than I did), it was easy to not have an emotional, defensive, justifying reaction. So, as I've begun my silver transition, I am prepared to have that response if I get any comments about my hair that trigger a defense feeling. Now to see how your haircut went...

Thank you so much for this. I am about 3 months in to a grow out and have been stressed this week due to the back having the optical illusion of balding next to my brown hair. Hearing you talk about that reminds me that it won't last forever. This helped me so much to hear.

Why anyone would comment on a stranger's hair colour (unless it was a compliment) is beyond me. I just don't understand it. Your hair is beautiful and I loved the cooking footage of you with your hair in a bun. Your hair looks incredible both up and down and those clips are so special. I am only just starting my journey and I am bracing myself for some negative comments. I hope I am as strong as you. Well done!

And your happiness will far outweigh any possible negative comments. I have noticed that there are a lot of women embracing their natural gray - and there is such a positive community out there! So much support and so many helpful tips! And I'm so inspired by how much fun everyone is having with the different stages of their grow-out. I really enjoyed your video but I was shocked to hear about your experience with the sales clerk. How rude of her!
I also stopped colouring my hair during lockdown. When I visited my usual salon after the first phase, my hairdresser was so appalled at me that she gave me a telling off, so I’ve left there after 15 years and started going to a new salon where they cut my hair as asked and make no comment on my colour. I’m 61 and 14 months in now. The regrowth is slower than yours, I think, but I love it and feel so authentic and real. I’m not worried about looking older - just grateful that my family and I survived the last year unscathed 😎
You are a beautiful lady and your silver hair is stunning - especially against your amazing eyes. I think it will be even more stunning when you have the full length grown out - you will be like an ice princess 😊
    Stay safe and happy 😃

Oh thank you so much for all your sweet compliments - just really means so much.💗💗💗 I'm so sorry to hear about your negative experience - after 15 years, I just can't believe that. I'm not sure what gets into some people's minds - I just can't fathom being that rude and hurtful to someone.😯 I'm so happy you found someone that does a great job - that makes a huge difference! And congratulations on 14 months! That's AWESOME! 🙌
I totally agree this experience has made me feel authentic and like I'm finding my real self. It's different for everyone, but I've never been happier. I did not realize what a positive change this would be! These days, when I'm out and about, I'm seeing so many letting their silvers shine and it's so beautiful to see everyone's natural hair colors - it's pretty cool! 💗
Thanks again! 😊 Stay safe and happy! 💗💗💗

Thanks for being so real Christina. I am 3 months in myself. It is definitely a journey. The thing is we have good and not so good hair days whether we dye our hair or not. So… why not try letting it do its thing naturally? That lady probably didn’t even realize she was so inappropriate. Or maybe if she didn’t care , she wasn’t taught how to keep her mouth shut. But there are all types and it actually made you all the more confident to intentionally pursue your goal.

Your color is pretty now, but when you get it all grown out, its going to be beautiful! Mine has been white like yours for about a yr. I did it the easy way, I buzzed it down 3 different times, after I had redyed it. My husband was really ticked off,he said leave it alone it looks good white, my daughter thinks it makes me look older, I told her hey, im 65, its time😊. Good Luck in your journey, I'll be watching.

You go girl . . . your hair looks fabulous. Your silver hair brightens your complexion and your eyes are captivating. I am into month 15 of growing out my hair,. It's a painful journey but worth it. Many of my friends thought I would go back to coloring it brown but I surprised them. Once I was determined to give up going to the hairdresser every three weeks there was no turning back. I agree with you there are many great RUclipsrs that have shared their journey while providing support and hope.

I tried a few months back and had gotten it out to about 2 inches, but the straight black line was so difficult, and I felt like I looked so old, so I died it. I agree that sometimes for some of us, highlighting works. I had struggled with my fringe area for almost 18 months. For some reason this area remained a murky brown, though the rest was grey! I highlighted/bleached this area and then toned it and it now looks much better and blends with the rest. Everyone has to do what's best for them because it takes a long time!

My hair is dark brown and when that gray hair starts boy can you ever see it. I'm so tired of dying my hair but then again when I start seeing the gray I want to dye it again. love your colour! Mine is a mix of grey and murky brown, so I have just lightened part of the fringe area because it was making me feel so dowdy. The rest is still grey but this helps me with my transition, even though I took a detour! We are not all blessed with your perfect silver unfortunately - but maybe one day lol!

Thank you so much for your sweet compliments! 🤗💗 I've seen so many silver sisters when I'm out and about these days - I just love all the different styles and colors and I really enjoy seeing the different options and ways to embrace the grey. I'm actually thinking of adding some darker lowlights to the ends of my hair for a bit of contrast too, I just need to get the rest of the dye trimmed off and hopefully I'll have a better idea what to do from there. I'm finding this journey has opened up new ways to have fun with my hair. Thank you again silver sister - I hope you have a lovely day! 💗

I wobbled a bit too. But you got this! After the first couple of months it seemed to get easier for me, I felt kinda edgy with the dark on the bottom. I still haven't cut it all off! I also notice a lot of women are growing their hair out, you're in good company - I'm excited for your transition! 💗 I do love to change things up and was feeling kinda blah just the other day but didn't want to add color at this stage - it was like a lightbulb went off - and I just bought the coolest purple ombre wig (it's not even high quality but my friends were freaked out that I had colored my hair, lol)! It's super fun! 😉 Thank you for your sweet compliments! I hope you have a wonderful day! 🤗

You will know when it's the right time! 🤗 Right now I'm letting my hair do its own thing (and heal from all the damage I put it through) but when I get all the dyed ends cut off I'm thinking of having some temp color or a grombre effect for fun! 😃 Thanks again for your sweet compliments and your support! Hello from Ohio 👋
I have heard other women mention how someone made a rude comment about their gray hair as it was growing out. Geeesssshhh I don't know how people can feel so comfortable doing so. I am 7 months in and if someone says something to me, they may not like my response. 😂 And i must be weird but I happen to love the demarcation line. I love the contrast of the 2 colors. (I wonder if that's the artist in me coming out.?!) lol Anyway I am glad to hear that you are continuing with the gray/silver hair journey because it truly does look beautiful on you! It seriously does. Sorry for my long comment! Stay Blessed ❤

Thank you so much for your sweet compliments - I was reading the comments and am just touched at how absolutely lovely and wonderful people like you are. 💗 And congratulations on 7 months!!! YEAH! That's fantastic - love that Silver Sister!✨🤗 As for the negative experience, I think it was a rare odd moment - when I'm out and about these days, I'm seeing so many women letting their natural silvers shine! It's super cool and I think everyone's natural highlights and colors are just beautiful! And I'm with you - I absolutely love my demarcation line too - I haven't had this much fun with my hair in years! 😃 I haven't chopped it off - to tell you the truth, I had a bit of a bad hair trim and after being bummed, just decided to let it grow. I've made it this far already and I think I would miss it if I completely cut off the rest of the dyed ends. Thank you again for for your thoughts - you made my day. 🤗

She held her nerve, carried on and
She has the most fabulous, shiny
Gray hair. She was 62. The condition of her hair was much better and her
Scalp was no longer sore. She was also tired of the maintainence.
