We had a though game today where our keeper had nothing to work with for the first 40min of the game. The opposing team had one shot during this time and it was a perfect shot to the top corner. This brought the spirits of our keeper down. With some mental coaching in the break she came back and finished strong with some crucial saves when the opposing team was pushing for a win. It ended well with a 3-1 win. But the mental part is very important and it's thanks to your videos I would say both the keeper and me as coach managed to pull out that extra to secure the win. Cheers from Sweden
That’s an incredible story! Huge respect to both you and the keeper for staying mentally strong, especially after a tough first half. It’s so easy for a keeper’s confidence to take a hit after a perfect shot like that, but it sounds like the mental coaching at the break really made a difference. It’s awesome to hear that my videos played a part in helping both of you push through and secure the win! Big cheers from here as well, and congrats on the 3-1 victory! 🙌⚽🧤
I started playing soccer a year ago, but I never really gave it my all. My school just started a week ago, and I decided to try being a goalkeeper. Since I didn’t take it seriously before, I feel like I’m starting from scratch, and I’m really scared of power shots. The fear of letting my teammates down is always on my mind, and I really want to become a good goalkeeper. Can you give me tips on how to overcome this fear and improve?
Same with me man just know that if you mess up it's not the end I've never scored a goal I started 5 or 7 months ago I'm not a goalie but I love saving I was in goal for 1 match and I did terrible but I knew that it isn't the end I can improve I haven't played football in months but when I do I hope to make a difference and for power shots try to dive earlier I hope you make lots a of saves and I hope this helped
I totally get where you’re coming from - it can feel overwhelming when you’re just starting out as a goalkeeper, especially with the fear of letting your team down. But the fact that you want to improve and are asking for advice is already a huge step forward! Here are a few tips that might help: 1. Start with the basics: Focus on the fundamentals like positioning, handling, and footwork. The more comfortable you get with the basics, the more confident you’ll feel when those power shots come your way. 2. Face your fear gradually: Start practicing with lighter shots and work your way up to harder ones. This way, you’ll slowly build confidence and get used to the speed and power of different shots without feeling overwhelmed. 3. Protect yourself: For power shots, focus on getting your body behind the ball rather than just your hands. This reduces the chance of the ball slipping past you and gives you more control. 4. Visualize success: Instead of thinking about letting your teammates down, try to visualize yourself making big saves. A positive mindset can really help with building confidence. Remember, every keeper has fears, but the key is to push through them. You’re already on the right track, and with time and practice, you’ll get more comfortable and improve! You’ve got this-just keep at it! 💪🧤⚽
Hey, I love your attitude! You’re absolutely right - messing up is just part of the process, and it’s not the end. The fact that you’re ready to improve after a tough game shows you’ve got the right mindset. It’s great to see you sharing your experience and encouraging others to keep pushing forward. Keep that positive energy, and when you get back into football, I’m sure you’ll make a big difference! Thanks for sharing, and best of luck with your journey! 💪⚽
I`ve been a gk for about 10 years and played in higher divisions those are things I heard many times. But I would appreciate sth for very advanced keepers. But nice vid though.
