Hey Kristian! I was never a professional football player but I used to play a lot street football in the past. But for the last few years (4-5) I haven't touch a ball. And since I am 35 years old I thought that I am done with what used to be my favorite hobby. But recently I met with a group of people who are really nice and invited me to play in their team casually. And after just 10 minutes of playing I realized that being that old and not training for so long I ran out of breath so I asked them to stay on the goal. And for that level of play it turned out I was doing.... OK-ish for an amateur standards. In the past I always wanted to be an outfield player since I liked to run all the time but right now that isn't happening. So I embraced the idea of being a goalkeeper and start even doing some drills. And just few days ago youtube algorithm has blessed me in the recommended with one of your videos which was both good and entertaining. So I am about to start watching all your content! I am aware I am not going to become a pro but I just strive to get better and help my teammates :) Keep up the good work and the amazing videos!
Thank you so much for sharing your story - it’s awesome to see you rediscovering your love for the game! Embracing goalkeeping, especially after not playing for a while, is a bold move, and it sounds like you’re already doing great. The fact that you’re starting drills and diving into goalkeeping content shows a lot of passion and commitment. At 35, it’s all about enjoying the process, learning new skills, and staying fit while helping your team. I’m so glad the algorithm brought you here, and I hope the videos continue to support you on this journey. Keep at it - you’re never too old to learn, improve, and enjoy the game. I’ll keep creating content to help goalkeepers like you. Thanks for being part of the community, and good luck in goal! 🙌🧤⚽
hey glory ur videos helped me so so much through my goalkeeper ur the reason im a really good goal keeper but the problem im having is about my mentality whenever i miss a catch my teamates yell at me which makes me depressed and btw thx for changing my life bro
Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m really glad the videos have helped you improve your game - that’s amazing to hear! As for dealing with the pressure and those tough moments, especially when teammates get on your case, I get it. It’s tough, but remember that mistakes are part of the game and part of learning. Here are a few tips to help with your mentality: Focus on the next play: Whenever you make a mistake, try to shake it off quickly and focus on what’s coming next. Goalkeeping is all about bouncing back, and every save after a mistake shows your resilience. Build self-confidence: Remind yourself of the saves and great moments you've had. Those define you as a goalkeeper, not a single miss. Keep your confidence high, even when others might not understand. Control what you can: Teammates might react in the moment, but you know you’re putting in the work. Trust your own judgment and keep pushing forward. Positive self-talk: When you feel down, tell yourself you’ve got this. Simple reminders like “I’ve saved tougher shots before” can boost your mindset. Don’t let those moments hold you back - use them to grow stronger. You’re doing awesome, and I’m so proud to be part of your journey. Keep pushing, and remember, you’ve got this! 💪🧤⚽
Another banger bro! I just made my travel team and I’m very happy about it. Plan to stay at the club for the next year or 2 but as I go into private high school soccer I want to aim for that academy level. Do you have any confidence advice? Because I get this just butterfly in the stomach feeling when even thinking about matches and tryouts.
Congrats on making your travel team! 🎉 That’s a big step, and it’s awesome that you’re setting goals to level up even further. Those butterflies are super normal, especially when you’re aiming high. Here are some confidence tips to help you stay calm and focused: Channel the butterflies: Instead of trying to get rid of that feeling, use it as fuel. Remind yourself that those nerves mean you care and that you’re ready to give your best. It’s a sign you’re pushing your limits! Visualize success: Picture yourself making saves, commanding your area, and staying composed. Visualization can help your mind get comfortable with big moments before they even happen. Stick to a pre-game routine: A consistent warm-up or routine can help you feel grounded and in control. Knowing you’re following a set process gives you something to rely on, no matter how big the game or tryout. Remember your growth: Remind yourself how far you’ve come - from making the travel team to aiming for academy level. Trust that each step builds on the last, and you’re prepared for this. You’ve got the passion, skills, and determination. Keep going, and trust that you’re ready for these challenges. You’re on the right path, and those butterflies will only make you stronger. 💪⚽🧤 Good luck, and keep me updated!
Hey, big fan of your channel. I have some issues with saving penalty kicks. I have watched your video of penalty kicks, but I still can’t guess the correct direction. Looking at the kicker’s stepping foot takes up too much time to react, so I’m not sure how to guess correctly 😭. I hope you can give me a way to guess the correct direction :)
Hey buddy. I'd say: First, watch the video again. Then again. Start watching for cues every time you face a penalty. The smallest of advantages. Then practice, then practice more and more. In the video, it might seem easy, but it's not. It takes a LOOOT of practice. I have been doing this for 20 years ..... :) You have to remember the striker will always be the favourite. All you can do is tip the odds in your favour. So don't give up. Keep watching for the cues, keep practicing and all of a sudden, your instincts become so good that you'll be saving more penalties :)
