    My biggest weakness is goalkicks. My coaches never taught me, and after i failed multiple times. I kept hididng from it and felt scared for so long, but after seeing keepers 2-3 years younger than me able to kick, I felt so embarrassed and started to learn on my own. Now i have improved significantly and can kick 15 meters far with a good amount of height. Thanks

    something funny. years ago, i just graduated from elementary and i’m in the summer break, got bored and installed fifa. while i played, i saw how the goalies played and decided to use their mindset and playstyle. mind you, i didn’t play well as goalie in elementary. i started playing well, my positioning got so much better, i dived more, and i was just better in general. without much practice, too.

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  19 дней назад

      That’s awesome! Sometimes the best inspiration comes from the most unexpected places - even FIFA! 😄 It’s amazing how just watching and analyzing the way goalkeepers move in a game can actually translate to real-life improvements. Positioning, diving, and reading the play all coming together from that experience? That’s pretty impressive, especially without tons of practice!
      Who knew a summer with FIFA could turn you into a stronger keeper? Keep that mindset going, and who knows what else you’ll pick up along the way! ⚽🧤

    Love the videos. We played the host school this tuesday and we lost 1 - 0 to a pen in the last minute. The ref was from their school and told us we have 4 minutes stoppage time and extended it till 8 even though the ball went out of play a lot. An opposition player fell around 2m away from the ball and our defenders and the ref gave a pen. I didn't keep for it, the other keeper did, he was playing CDM for that match because we didn't have any outfiedlers to hold the ball and he is very good at that, but the penalty was too good to save even though he dove the right way. We dominated the entire game but it ended due to a horrible call. Your techniques helped me make my coach proud and he gave me special appreciation thank you so much.

If it was a one sided game that would have been okay, but we dominated the entire game, only lacking a good no. 9 to finish, and after all that in the 7th minute of stoppage, where the substitution ref showed 4 minutes, they get a very bad penalty, where the winger lowered himself to the ground slowly. great video once again, I learn something new every video!
    How many hours a week of non-team training (solo or with another person) would you say it would take to make it to a european league?

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for the support! I’m glad you’re learning something new with each video! 🙌
      As for your question, there’s no exact number of hours that guarantees a spot in a European league, but it’s all about consistent, focused training. That being said, I’d recommend aiming for around 15-20 hours a week of non-team training if you're serious about making it to that level. Here's how you could break it down:
      Solo training: Focus on skills like footwork, distribution, handling, and agility. Even 5-7 hours a week of intense solo training can make a huge difference.
      Partner training: If you can, work with a partner for drills that require reaction time, diving, crosses, and 1v1 situations.
      Mental and physical conditioning: Don’t forget strength training, flexibility, and mental preparation - these can take up another few hours each week.
      Consistency is key! Players who make it to top leagues often train like this on top of team practices. Remember, it’s about quality over just the hours, so stay focused and push yourself each session.
      Keep grinding, and you’ll get there! 💪⚽

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  Месяц назад +1

      Hey, don’t be too hard on yourself - your first game is always tough, and it’s normal to feel frustrated after a loss, especially when things don’t go as you hoped. But one bad performance doesn’t define you as a goalkeeper. Reaction time, positioning, and confidence all improve with experience and practice.
      Everyone has tough games, especially at the beginning. The key is learning from it and coming back stronger. Instead of quitting, try to focus on what you can improve, take it step by step, and remind yourself why you love the game in the first place.
      Quitting now would mean you’re giving up before you’ve really had the chance to grow. Stick with it - you’ve got potential, and this is just part of the process!
      You’ve got this! 💪⚽🧤 Keep pushing forward, and things will get better.

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  Месяц назад +1

      Hey, don’t be discouraged - it’s absolutely possible to improve, no matter your current situation! Being overweight doesn’t stop you from becoming a better goalkeeper. The key is to focus on making steady progress with fitness, technique, and confidence. Here are some tips to help you get started:
      Start with fitness: Begin by incorporating simple cardio exercises like running, cycling, or swimming to improve your endurance. Combine this with bodyweight exercises (push-ups, squats, planks) to build strength. You can also watch this video for a goalkeeping specific workout (only 10 minutes): ruclips.net/video/A24YrvOnYuE/видео.html
      Set small goals: Focus on one thing at a time, like improving your footwork, agility, or reflexes. Progress takes time, and small wins will add up over time.
      Work on technique: Continue practicing your diving, positioning, and handling. Technique is just as important as fitness, and you can keep refining your skills while working on your health.
      Nutrition: Focus on eating healthy, balanced meals. Small changes to your diet can make a big difference over time.
      Remember, plenty of goalkeepers have been in your shoes and made improvements. It’s all about consistency and believing in yourself. Don’t give up - you’ve got this! 💪🧤⚽

    What should I do for a scout game?

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  28 дней назад

      Great question! A scout game is a big opportunity, so here are a few key things to focus on to make a strong impression:
      Stay calm and composed: Nerves can get the best of anyone, but staying calm will help you perform at your best. Take deep breaths and focus on each moment as it comes.
      Showcase your strengths: Whether you’re known for quick reflexes, distribution, or positioning, make sure you highlight your strongest areas. Scouts want to see what makes you stand out.
      Communicate: Be vocal and confident with your teammates. Good communication shows leadership, awareness, and control over your defense.
      Consistency over flash: Don’t feel like you need to make risky or flashy plays to impress. Scouts are often looking for reliable players who are consistently solid, so focus on getting the basics right.
      Decision-making: Scouts pay attention to how well you read the game and make decisions. Stay alert and be smart with when to come off your line, when to stay back, and how to distribute the ball.
      Good warm-up: Get to the game early and go through a solid warm-up. This will help calm your nerves and get your body ready to perform.
      Most importantly, enjoy the experience. Whether it’s a great game or you make a few mistakes, use it as a learning opportunity. You’ve got this! 💪⚽

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  19 дней назад +1

      I get it - you’re gearing up for a game but haven’t played as a keeper in a while, and dealing with back pain makes it even more challenging. Here are a few tips to ease back into goalkeeping safely and manage that back pain:
      Stretch and warm up: Spend time warming up your back and core with gentle stretches, like the cat-cow stretch or child’s pose. Warming up helps reduce stiffness and can lower the chance of straining your back.
      Strengthen your core: A strong core supports your back, which is especially helpful in goalkeeping. Simple exercises like planks or gentle twists can help build core stability and protect your back.
      Focus on technique: Since you’re getting back into it, be mindful of how you’re moving and diving to avoid unnecessary strain. Good technique and positioning will reduce the physical demands on your back.
      Gradual practice: Don’t jump straight into intense training. Start with light drills and practice movements slowly to help your body get used to goalkeeping again.
      Ice and rest: After practice, ice your back and take rest days to recover. Rest is key for avoiding further injury, especially if it’s been a while since you last played.
      With these adjustments, you can gradually get back into goalkeeping without putting too much strain on your back. Take it easy, focus on your form, and enjoy the journey back! 💪🧤⚽

    Do you have any tips for lack of confidence as I got a match on Wednesday

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  Месяц назад +1

      Absolutely, I’ve got a few tips to help boost your confidence before your match on Wednesday:
      Trust your preparation: Remind yourself of all the work you’ve put in during training. Confidence comes from knowing you’ve prepared well. Reflect on the saves you’ve made and the progress you’ve shown.
      Visualize success: Take a few minutes before the game to visualize yourself making key saves, commanding your area, and staying composed. Positive imagery helps build belief in yourself.
      Focus on the process, not the outcome: Instead of worrying about winning or losing, focus on doing the small things right - your positioning, communication, and decision-making. The more you focus on the process, the less pressure you’ll feel.
      Take it one play at a time: Don’t let a mistake or a goal affect your entire performance. If something doesn’t go your way, reset and focus on the next moment.
      Positive self-talk: Before and during the game, tell yourself you’re ready, you’ve done the work, and you’ve got what it takes. Positive self-talk helps drown out doubts.
      You’ve got this! Just stay calm, trust your training, and go out there with confidence. 💪⚽🧤 Good luck on Wednesday!

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  Месяц назад

      That’s a great question, and I’m sure a lot of goalkeepers wonder the same thing! I’ll definitely keep this in mind for a future video. I made this one about what scouts love to see: ruclips.net/video/vGDlKoetsT4/видео.html
      Here’s a quick rundown for now:
      Start small: If you’re playing at a local or lower-level club, focus on improving your skills and getting noticed. Consistency in your performances is key.
      Networking and trials: Attend trials or open tryouts at higher-level clubs. Keep an eye out for opportunities to showcase your talent.
      Build a profile: Record your games and create a highlight reel to show coaches and scouts what you can do. This can help you get noticed by bigger clubs.
      Stay patient and focused: Progress takes time, but if you keep pushing yourself and stay dedicated, you can climb the ranks and move up to higher-level clubs.
      I’ll definitely consider making a video breaking this down in more detail! Thanks for the suggestion, and keep chasing that dream! 💪⚽🧤

    Bro can i become a goalkeeper like when i dont have the money to train at childhood and start at 21age

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  Месяц назад

      Absolutely! You can definitely become a goalkeeper even if you’re starting at 21. While many people start younger, it’s never too late to pursue your passion and improve. Here’s what you can do to make the most of starting at 21:
      Focus on the fundamentals: Work on your footwork, positioning, and handling. These are the key areas for any goalkeeper, and mastering them will give you a solid foundation.
      Find local opportunities: Join a local team, league, or pick-up games where you can practice and gain experience. Even if you didn’t start as a kid, there’s always a place to learn and develop your skills.
      Self-training: There are tons of free resources online (like RUclips videos!) that can help you train solo. You don’t need expensive programs - just dedication and consistent practice. You can also check out my program for $47 - it's very cheap considering the value inside.
      Be patient: Progress takes time, but if you work hard and stay committed, you can improve quickly, even starting later.
      Plenty of goalkeepers have started their journey a bit later, and with passion and determination, you can absolutely do it too. Don’t let the age or lack of early training hold you back!
      You’ve got this! 💪⚽🧤

    The worst thing in my country is that most of the teams (including the academy I play in) doesn't have u18 (I'm currently 16 so it's my last year in this academy for sure) and by 17 it's expected for you to be at least semi pro level

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  Месяц назад +2

      I can totally understand how frustrating that must be! If most teams in your country don’t have U18s, it puts a lot of pressure on players like you at 16 to quickly transition to a higher level. Here’s what you can do:
      Make the most of this year: Treat this year in your academy as your opportunity to grow as much as possible. Focus on improving your skills, fitness, and mentality to prepare for the next step.
      Seek trials or opportunities: Start looking into trials for semi-pro teams or any other opportunities in your area. Even if it feels like a big jump, showing your potential can help you stand out.
      Stay connected: Talk to coaches, teammates, or anyone who might have connections to higher-level clubs or academies. Networking can open up opportunities.
      Stay patient: If you don’t make it to semi-pro right away, don’t get discouraged. Keep training hard, and focus on finding a club or league that allows you to continue developing.
      You’ve got time, and if you stay dedicated, more opportunities will come. Keep pushing forward! 💪⚽
