Hi Endre - you are right, it will enter the filter. However, depending on how soon you turn the engine on, it may not settle fully and get absorbed by the filter material. If it doesn't make a mess, do it. If you decide not to, let it get absorbed fully first (give it some time) before turning the engine over. Ultimately, it really doesn't make a huge difference either way.

Why pour oil into the filter? Won't it enter the filter as soon as you pour it into the engine?
