That’s how it works, you are not alone, I’ve seen this many times and I still cry!
I have done eight meet and greets in Canada in 2016 and 2018, where I got to shake her hand seven times. She was missing from the Calgary meet and greet because she was coming down with a cold and wanted to spare her voice. I remember my first interaction with her verbatim. It was in Winnipeg 2016. It was all in Dutch, but translated, it went like this. Me: "Hello Floor, I'm Frans from the Netherlands". Floor: "But you live here". Me: "No, I flew from the Netherlands to see all your Canadian shows". After which Floor turned to Tuomas who was seated to her right and explained to him what I had done. And so I moved on to Tuomas.
Meet and greets are hurry up affairs. I did them in Canada because the VIP-ticket necessary cost only about a hundred dollars extra and also gave you early access to the venue. I really got some great spots.
I’ve done the meet & greet with Floor solo and she is as magical and sweet and loving as she seems on the screen and then some. She radiates warmth and love in person. ❤❤

I concure too, everything what Alieke said is the truth, met her in Stuttgart in June, as in the other M&G in Germany and NL, only a few fans, so everyone had a few minutes under four eyes with her ... it is something you dont forget. On stage .... abolute godess, off stage .... a warmhearted, down to earth and nice person
I was lucky to have a meet and greet with Floor about two months ago. It was not just a shake hands, but I had a small conversation too. She was really nice. I will never forget that moment.
this was a class reunion these people were all the students that were with Floor in the 1st school of rock academy and Floor is the biggest most successful in the history of the school.
She is fantastic! I was at Kitee Finland week ago at their hometown gig. The Lady Mama with baby bump ❤ singing with full power, it was something!

Hi Debbie. Nightwish cancellend the last concert today in Oslo because Floor need to rest. I saw Nightwish last week in Kitee ( I travelled to Finland😊) and it was great. But I thought…..Floor go home and rest with your 7 month pregnancy. I hope she does well now.

Second: it is nearly unbelievable how that sympathic, nearly shy sweetheart turns on stage to the GODDESS who commands easily 80.000 people and changes their emotions like SHE wants to.
HER dad said in another video that answers the question: `Who is Floor Jansen` , when SHE got on stage the first time, SHE turned into a complete different person, powerfull and self confident and of course a beautifull voice.
There are not only a few people who believe that there is a magical heavenly door between off stage and the stage and when SHE walks through it, the GODDESS arises.........
The language confusion is more than understandable. As a good English speaking and mediocre Dutch speaking German, my brain tries to simultaneously translate what I hear from Dutch to German, and what I read from English to German. And sometimes I fail 🙂
Saw Nightwish last Saturday and that became to be their last concert for now. Don't know how she did it, two shows in hot summer weather. Next will be their new record next year. Hope you would continue with your Nightwish concerts reactions.
This is a tear jerker for sure even for my second time watching this doc. Her parents' support broke me. This somehow makes you love her more when you thought you could'nt.

One of her classmates in this documentary is Danny Vera, and he had a big hit in the Netherlands with the song Rollercoaster. Another classmate is Jacqueline Govaerts who had a great hit with the band Krezip in 2000, I Would Stay. Worthwhile to listen to. In 2005 Krezip got drummer Bram van den Berg who later also was drummer in Drive Like Maria. He will replace the drummer of U2 ( Larry Mullen Jr.) during some U2 concerts in Las Vegas this year.

Honestly, if I ever had the chance to be in a "meet and greet", I would FAINT the moment she would look at me with those eyes and smile. And when I would wake up, I would see her and I would faint again. She's magical, in any aspect.
Hey, this is a really great little insight into Floor's life at that time. It was the right time to see her, as she was now fully comfortable with being a part of Nightwish, and had fully recovered from her burnout phase from before joining the band. I do love how she is so open and honest and humble about being herself, it's wonderful to see. I'm really glad you found this wonderful little documentary.
I think on her own channel she has a really nice view of her on her present home in Sweden. I remember that part of it shows her purchasing a horse with her sister which is very cool as we get to see her doing the other activity she most loves in the world hehe.
I did just want to say about the Dutch language, it's in this area of Europe that older forms of English was formed. In fact, in one small area of the western coast of Europe the inhabitants can actually understand a form of English that most modern English speakers would not be able to understand today. Another cool note is to see that in the Germanic language countries you can hear some smaller sentences which sound exactly as they would in English. Sorry to nerd out here lol.

This ia a typical dutch tv show al the people in this classroom where in the same school as Floor 90 % are great artist in the Nederlands .I was born les then 10 miles from where Floor Jansen Anneke van Giersbergen Simone Simons the most beautiful woman and voices af this time al in Noort-Brabant we are the lucky ones~!!!!!!!!!!!

I see 2 Queens in this reaction. Nailed it Debbie. This gives you a real sense of the Floor we all love. Believe it or not, as a child Floor was teased by all the other kids over her southern Dutch accent. This was a reunion with her music class. I love it. 😂
Floor always lived in the south of The netherlands but in the south basically every village has a different accent. Her family moved so often that she was always the new kid in class and also she had a sloightly different southern accent that the other kids from that village who also had a southern accent. It just goes to show how kids all over the world react to kids that are even a little bit different that them. Try being a white kid in a black neighourhood. You will get bullied 100% just because of your skin colour.

I never had a meet and greet with the whole band, but I did one just with Floor during her solo tour, it was amazing!!!! She was talking to each of us for up to 5 minutes, individually, so that it was YOUR time with her, and we took individual pictures and a group picture. still super unreal!!!!
Hi Debbie - Just wanted to let You know that Tommy released a new song on midsummer eve here in Sweden. It's a Folk Metal Cover where he plays Mouth Organ, Harmonica, Accordion, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Flute as well as singing in Swedish. The song "Nu grönskar det" means "Now it's green" or "Now it's getting green". The melody is originally written by Johan Sebastian Bach and the lyric for the Swedish part is written by Evelyn Lindström. The middle musical part is from a song called ”IDAS SOMMARVISA” written by the Swedish composer Georg Riedel and lyrics by the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren for the children's book and move "Emil of Lönneberga" (from Swedish: Emil i Lönneberga). Always enjoy watching this excerpt. More like TOM’-peh-reh. This was just a small piece from from a Dutch television show that brought together a reunion of singers that attended the same music school together, many of which have gone on to great success. This was the piece that focused on Floor. Another singer that was included you might want to check out is a guy named Danny Vera, another Dutch singer singing mainly in English.

Floor is so human what i mean by that is the amount of famous stars and people out there who are so fake and emotionless like robots not real where Floor is so down to earth loving and caring an empath just like many of us real people.

2:52 Her accent? I´m confused. Its her native language and because of that she cannot have any accent in it.
In my language (German) the word accent has the meaning that you can hear out a foreigner, speak your own language.
She has a southern accent, but she obviously does not hear that. She just meant the language sounds weird to her.
An accent can also be local; like people from Bavaria sound different from people from Berlin. In Dutch, you can hear Floor is from Brabant.
@@jbird4478 The difference in the language between different regions is called dialect, or am I wrong?
@@holgerczubka5453 A dialect is a (local) variant of a language; with different words, differences in sentence structure, etc. An accent is just the difference in pronunciation and intonation. In this case, people from Brabant most notably make a very different "g" sound from the rest of the Netherlands. Brabant also has its own dialect, but she's not speaking that. She's speaking Standard Dutch, but with a slight accent.
@@jbird4478 Thats what I said - dialect is regional (local). Like bavarian, saxon (my german local dialect), hessian and so on. All is german, but with regional nuances. when i speak english, i have a german accent and every english native speaker would hear it. (but its not called dialect)
