- This is a noise cancelling headphone super fight! 5 headphones. 5 different noise cancelling options. All in the same price point. Today we pit the Beats Studio3 Wireless against the Sony 1000XM2 against the Bose QC35II against the Sennheiser PXC550 against the Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC. Up until now the Bose QC35II’s have been the internet reviewer's gold standard in noise cancelling tech. Let’s see if they hold their shine!

Sellout you’re sponsored by beats and you didn’t even mention that
You guys are truly the only people on this planet that think those BEATS are the best for noise cancelling. I hate to be the person that says "you were paid by DEAD BEATS" but the only other option would be that this video was purely 100% sarcastic!!!!!
Personally I tested sony beats and bose and my top was
1:Sony 1000xm2
2: bose quietcomfort 35/2
3:beats studio 3
Sébastien Pleau wish I could do a two year test on these as I’d love to see how the Beats do for durability and if the touch controls on the Sony hold up long term as well.
Sébastien Pleau I’ve use the beats 2.0 they last 4 years of a lot used 6+ days a week for 5 or more hours while I was in school. The plastic underneath the metal studio badge broke and the ear pads ripped at the end but the speakers still work to this day
Andrew M562 Good to know. Apple is letting me use these long term to test the durability and I’m using them in the gym 3 days a week. We’ll see how they hold up.
I think your ears had a problem
Beats are the best option , sorry Sebastian
BS review. Clearly he is a Beats fanboy. Being an audio engineer doesn't mean your hearing abilities are greater than the others. You're not chasing audio quality, you're a guy who like Beats.
Ell ison LOL. I thought I made it clear what I was chasing? Noise cancelling. At no time did I say they were the best sounding headphones on the market. I liked them most out of this bunch.
If I wasn't objective and was fanboying, I would've cut out my colleague saying he preferred the sound of the Bose. That's called a difference of opinion. People who are trying to be right, people who fanboy, rarely tolerate such things. Sigh
man that's the strange part, he only says something about beats and bose, he does'nt say anithing about the others, sony and sennheiser are much better sounding but look like you're the only one testing them, and the others test only beats and bose.
Ell ison hater
But at least he (the audio engineer) has more perspective than some bitter ass dude in the comment section
Clearly a video sponsored by Beats. This is a biased review. Do you think we're stupid. Actual evidence shows that Beats are at the bottom of every scale relative to the Sony and Bose.
"Actual evidence?" Like, 3 out of 5 doctors recommend blamo! toothpaste kind of evidence? Lol If you look through online reviews, you'll actually see they're mixed. Some people like these, others don't. Tom's Guide for instance had very positive things to say, while the fellas over at SoundGuys, not so much. You guys kill me with your hyperbole. "Everyone said they hate these." Ummmm, no. Not even close. But you go ahead with the internet rage and hyperbole if it makes you troll, I mean, feel better.
Even Fox reviews are fake.
personal expierence the beats studio 3’s are the most discomfort they grip on my jawline and have a really tight pressure grip i would have to go with the bose qc35 for comfort
First 10 seconds was best anything fox has done in the last 10 years
Now i know beats people sent you free headphones all slid you some money to prop up there brand...i had sony 100x m2 and i listened to alot of bose qc35. the beats was not a complete sound and all 100 experts on you tube doesnt have beats over the sony or bose.. So yes your nuts..
I know I'm a year (actually almost two) late on this but you're one sharp dude and I know I'll be looking for future reviews that involve you.
I bet they didnt use the app on sony's right? Also did they use ldac or just standard bluetooth
I wonder why anybody og those YT-tech-reviewers even bother to take beats by dre into their "shootout videos" and now this figure tells us how great the beats are... This is more a beats advertising made by a fanboy than a "review" ....
Studio 3 wireless lmfao you serious bro nah bro the sound is shit. Sonys or even the Bose over beats all the way.
JJay13Productionz Yep. I’m serious. Audition is a subjective experience. Bose are a little flat for me and the Sony’s, as I stated in the video, are actually pretty close to the Beats but Beats has better noise cancelling which was my focus.
That said, I’m glad the other ones work for you. Choice is a good thing.
Tshaka Armstrong so I should buy the Beats Studio 3 for my Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Tshaka Armstrong or should I buy Bose Quiet Comfort 2 or Sony 1000mx2
InsaneClown Posse don't waste your time with beats. Go for Bose QC 2 if you want excellent noise cancellation but if you want excellent audio with more than enough noise cancellation go with Sony. I personally went with Sony as the quality of the music I hear is important to me as much as noise cancellation.
Depends on your sound preference. Hit up a Best Buy, listen to all three and see which sonics best match your listening taste. You can't go wrong with either one, honestly. I prefer the sound of the Beats and Sony 1000xm2 over the Bose, tbh. I prefer my music a little warmer, where the Bose presents with a cooler, flatter sound.
The amount of people going to be in a server room is very limited and that noise signature is very unique. I would like to see a better noise cancelling comparison. Most other reviews I've seen put the studios behind most in this category. Maybe the clamping pressure helped but there was no comfort comparison and I doubt they can be worn for over an hour straight without pain. Also, the beats lack of noise cancellation adjustability. Review was sub par and didn't highlight, that all of these headphones are tailored for specific needs and what those features are.
Zach Henke clearly you didn't watch the entire video because I broke down the comfort level from longest wearing to heaviest AND talked about the difference in noise cancelling in an open office setting AND the gym.
Thanks for watching whatever portion you did though. 👍🏾
It is pretty obvious these guys are trying to sell Beats, which is by far the worst product in term of comfort and noise cancellation
I have the Sennheiser pxc 550’s and ive previously owned qc35’s. I love the sound signature on the Sennheiser, and personally prefer them over the qc35’s. Ive listened to beats and if you love lots of bass then the beats are the way to go. I love the mids on the Sennheiser though.
Sony 1000X and the 1000Xm2 are beyond compare with the smart features and gestures. Audiophiles love the Sony ones across the board. Beats are just overhyped, high markup, and cheap quality build for ears with lower end preferences.
Joey Luu “ears with lower end preferences.” Have you listened to both yourself? Out the box, stock, no eq, the Sony and Beats sound pretty close with regard to how they favor lows. And they’re priced similarly. We have to have some honest discussions about products. Hard to call something marked up or overpriced when it is the same price point, with similar quality as competing products. Maybe the whole market segment is ‘overpriced?’
Tshaka Armstrong I have tested all of them and felt for my ears, both of Sony 1000X sounds fantastic compare to the other. For noise cancelling, last year's 1000X slightly better than this year's 1000Xm2 and certainly better than the competition. I travel a lot and tested them on flights, train and in metropolitan city noise before keeping the one I wanted.
Joey Luu You tested both Sony’s AND the Studio3s or just both Sony’s? If all three, you felt the Sony’s had better ANC than the Studio3s in all those environments?
Tshaka Armstrong yes, tested all of the ones in the video.
Joey Luu thanks. I wasn’t clear on that. How did you feel the Sony’s stacked up to the Bose in terms of noise cancelling?
Almost every other reviewer puts the Beats at the bottom of the bunch of ANC headphones for both ANC performance and usually sound. From my experience using the wh-1000xm2, which I own, comparing them to the QC35, and the Beats at stores, I can say that in terms of ANC performance, the Sony and Bose are basically the same, with the Beats being considerably worse. I also found the sound of the wh-1000xm2 to be cleaner and more to my taste than the Bose, which sounded slightly cold to me, and the Beats, which sounded muddy and overly bright.
Depends, the Sony headphones have much more features and are more versatile than the QC35, but the QC35 tends to be more comfortable. I would say to try to find a store that has both on display (BestBuy usually has those two on display to test) and find which one you prefer in terms of sounds.
Hairy man the Bose are barely more comfortable than the Sony's with the ear cup material and the pressure on the top of the head. Maybe for some people's ears there will be more contact with the mad that covers the woofer. For sound it shouldn't come down to preference. The Sony's were definitely better to my ears. It was enough of a difference that I felt I would have gone from good sound to bla sound, if I bought the Bose as planned. Instead, I passed on them and bought he Sony 1000mx2. To my ears, it isn't close enough to debate, but for some reason, some people do.
I guess as they say sound is subjective. I have spent the last 2 months buying, trying, and returning overear noise canceling headphones. Everything from B&O, B&W, 1000xm2s, V-moda crossfade wireless 2 Rose gold with the new codex, qc35ii, Sennheiser pxc 550s, and the sennheiser momentums and I probably left something out. Most of these I have bought and returned multiple times for various reasons. I currently have the Bose qc35ii and am planning on returning these, again! I have come to the conclusion that the "perfect" headphones don't exists. At least in the 0 - 500 price range. All of these headphones do something cool or good and something bad or annoying. If you're an apple person (or not) it make sense to go with the beats. Regardless of what someone says (it seems like people just hate on beats for the hell of it) they look good, sound good, and although it may not be the best ANC it works and better than you think. The Bose are posh with ok sound (but at high volumes there is a very noticeable crackling noise) and built ok. I don't think these were made with high volume in mind (at least with certain songs). the addition of google assistance is good...but... the Sennheiser pxc 550s are pretty damn good however the shape of the earcups isn't for everyone. they also have some slight annoyances such as them "almost" requiring Tidal integration and when the battery gets low that little voice is a CONSTANT reminder that you need to charge asap! If you listen to anything with base in it (Guitar, Violin, Drums, etc.) unless you have a dac/amp to connect to the B&O/B&W are too pricey for everyday (gym, chilling, cleaning house, washing car) wear and don't offer much more. The 1000xm2s are ok (not for the price of 300 - 350). The build is subpar and iffy (didn't the previous version have joint cracking issues) the sound wasn't too bad but base was a bit so so... the features I found to be somewhat "gimmicky" but cool as well. The app was sort of like...WHY? there were "options" that I can't seem to see using. Settings that just didn't really make any sense. 1 or 2 setting were cool an I saw the benefit but other than that... nope! Anyway... the search continues. I just sold my beats looking for something better but... I wouldn't be surprised if I wound up with a new pair.
If you took the stickers off of the Sennheisers, you'd notice they also have the touchpad controls like the Sonys...
Did the lows, mids and highs separate well at height volumes on the beats?
Could you guys still hear the high frequencies in the machine room with the Sonys? And how do they compare to the Bose? By the way, this was the best comparison video I've seen
I have had beats, and I have tried bose, and I’ve tried my friends Sony. The Beats do not compare to the Bose and Sony. This is a sponsored review. Do not buy headphones because of this video
HAPPY TUESDAY! FOX11LA! FAM!
Back atcha Ira! =)
Yo wassup man. I told you I'd watch it and here I am. Thanks for the advice aswell
Phoenix Tudela glad you could make it! =)
I have the Beats Studio3s ,I also own the Sennheiser pxc 550. I'm not sure why he rated the beats as the best. Cleary the Sennheisers are so much cleaner all around. The app really let's you explore a truly wonderful sound signature. I'm not saying the beats are not a great pair as they really are. However the Sennheisers rock & roll, they also groove & boogie, & I like podcasts better with the Sennheisers. If you want all pound all of the time then go grab the beats. If you want an all around great sound for everything that you do, including more comfort well once again the Sennheisers are the bees knees.
In terms of having your headphones on without lisining to music would you say that the beats still cancel out sound the best or do you need music in order to have good noise cancelation
Need music on for all five I tested. There is some level of passive noise cancellation from them being circumaural though.
That’s not true you don’t have to have music to use noise cancelation on the bose. I use mine all the time just for noise cancelation purposes.
after 6 months, my bose earpads fell apart. and the colour came off.
bad glue? bad material?
incredible at 350€
Konad Benz maybe you had a defective product they are built with stronger materials the beats
I like how all of these headphones are always mentioned but after owning the beats, the Sony 1000xm2 and the Parrot Zik 2.0. The Zik 2.0 mind you the( PARROT ZIK 2.0) ARE BETTER SOUND WISE AND NOISE CANCELING WISE. It makes me feel like the reviewers don't actually fully use the apps to there full capabilities and in all environments like Air Planes etc. So to All of you RUclipsrs---> THANKS FOR THE WASTE OF MONEY ON THE SONY 1000XM2. And Are You Serious On The Beats3 like come on bro. Like come on.
LMAO ..bro you can put them headphones on the front part of your hair all you want you still can't hide your hair thinning and going bald lol ..smh!..😂😂 embrace that shit ..🤣
I liked the fit of the beats. The Bose felt loose on my head.
Fotosnegocios.net baby head
Complete garbage review
Yeah noise cancelling doesn't really matter when the sound goes to complete shit.
Sponsored by beats
Ps you cant hear shit when you were Bose
Sony all day beats shouldn't even be up there they sound like shit
Man, I love all that money in your back pocket falling out. Good for you. LOL
Why do beats get hate so much?
Dark Beats me.
They're overpriced for the product given especially since they have nothing amazing about them. Everything about the bose and sony are superior than the beats.
Jesus everyone is so toxic HE SAID ITS HIS PERSONAL OPINION MY GODDD
Is Beats that good ??? I thought Sony is the best !!!
i want the studio 3s
Shadow Libra they are great 👍🏽 headphones and I do recommend getting them. I own both the studio 3 and Bose qc35 II and you cannot go wrong. The Beats sound amazing and look great. I recommend you get them.
$199 at Walmart
I like how their voices crack every time they lie about the beats 3 having better anc... what a crap comparison.
LMAOO people out here hating beats so hard. Y'all needa chill fr, people can have different opinions and ears than you.
Great confrontation
I’ve had the new Studio 3’s for a week...love them!
Scott Mercer same here only charged them twice. Only took one hour to fully charge and I’ve been listening to them for 100 plus hours! I’m surprised honestly..
I return them
Scott Mercer Excuse me but would mind telling me a bit more about them? Like what kind of music you listen to.. I listen to rock such as Blink 182, Green Day, Third Eye Blind etc. and was wondering how it would work for the kind of music I listen to. I got to try them out in a Best Buy but all they had was pop music which I really don’t like so much.
I could still never wear beats
Good Video I can't wait to get my Beats Studio 3 Red
I can only laugh at this review!
Although the beats studio 3 has the best look but the sound?? Nah brooo
Best noise cancelling/sound combo of the pairs I tested here. For overall sound, my favorite pair of headphones are still Sennheisers.
Hahhahaa beats has the worst sound cancelling out of all of them
Beats is complete shit! Do not waste your money.
Please elaborate? Why?
balls20009 Build quality is lacking and sound quality is subpar. Bose are the best built and Sony's are the best sounding but also a bit cheap feeling.
Your complete shit
“Beats fanboys” are simply people who have the resources to buy beats and realize how good they are... that is the only reason “beats fanboys/girls” are the only people who get hate.
Nigel Thornbury spoken like a true beats fanboy LMAO!
they cost the same as the other 3 and are widely regarded as below average for the price.
Edward Jimenez agreed, this comment makes 0 sense
The most prejudiced video I've ever seen
Matt Schwartz this mean you are a beats fan to
Y’all needa chill it’s based on opinion🤣
I had to try sony, Is very very bad.........
Studio3 fucking shit in the market noise canceling is crap and sound is good u can’t beat Sony and Bose two headphone are now the market
Beats all the way
The Beats wins
