I've fished one out of a river that had been there 6 weeks and got it running again in a few hours.
Wider tire on the front, cupped tire on the back. The only reason this didn't go way further is the front tire area.

Bravo ,, ok , we need a bigger or just as wide of tire you can use in the front and a little less bit in the rear to keep the front from jumping out of water ,, then you could run the whole lake , ya !

In fairness, he appreciates hard work so he'd probably compliment covid on being so damn good at what it does!
If it was a two stroke with power band it would do it easy I done well over 100m hydroplane on my 1998 KX250 and KDX200 both 2 stroke you need to hold it at full revs riding that power band haha

Why does the bike still have it's brakes on. That's just dead weight, needs to be light as possible.
There might be a stipulation saying that it has to have so many standard things on the bike.
You havent considered that maybe he had some practice run ins that he needed brakes for
450cc too heavy for the water, he needs a 250cc 2 stroke, with rear paddle tires and maybe side supports. Robbie madison surfed the waves, watch him.

Robbie's bike had skis though, very different set up and would not count for this record.
Bloody h*ll Guy, there are plenty of proper Mariners around Grimsby!
A quick chat with one or two of them could have pointed you to fitting a hydrostatic release to a CO2 charge to inflate a buoyancy bag fitted to the handlebars and the bike would have stayed on the surface at the end of the run.........
Just think of an oversized 'Mustang Elite' inflatable life jacket mounted onboard and you would not have had to pay for divers, nor deal with 3.5 bar of water pressure mucking up the innards of your bike....
