    You are making me excited! I just inherited a Designer 1, with the floppy disc! I thought it was an obsolete machine but I could not be more wrong. You have me inspired ❤️.

      Maria Allen So now that you’ve had a chance to use Embrilliance with your Designer 1, what do you think?

      Hi Karla having this software is a lot of fun. However, I am still playing around with it. Do you have any experience with the endless hoop using the Embrillance Essentials?

    Someone just GAVE ME a Designer SE that has hardly any stitch time on it at all. I'm not sure if she even has used the embroidery features at all on the machine! She didn't like the machine because she has a top of the line Brother machine and didn't like the user interface of Viking. This is a huge help because now I can actually use the embroidery features without paying $12K for a new machine.

    Hi thank you. You have made it look so easy to work on the Designer 1 machine. I had the Rose and something broke on it and they cant find the part so I purchased a used Designer machine a year ago but haven't really done anything with it. Now watching this your two video's I think I am ready to get back at it. Do you have any other video's on how to use the Designer 1. I am going to be so nervous using it. Thanks again for doing such a great tutorial.

      Roxy Loyst Hi, I too have bought a designer 1 and would love more video's on using it. I live in Spain and have no where to go for lessons so it's RUclips and facebook for all my help. There is a Husqvarna viking facebook page with lots of help if your interested. Regard Shelagh

      @@karlaedson1003 Hi Karla, great video, I too am returning to my old Designer1 embroidery package after finding out I can use bigger hoops and just bought EMBIRD software so I can combine or split designs etc. You mention a second video, is there a link to it please? I can't find it by searching RUclips. Do you have other videos on Embrilliance? Thanks, Rachel

      Rachel Atienza Hi Rachel. My second video is this one with the Megahoop. Maybe it’s my first video which is showing you the basics of using Embrilliance Essentials with the Designer 1 and the differences between the steps for the D1 vs every other sewing machine. I think if you search Sewing with Karla, you’ll find it. Let me know.

    How difficult was it to have your machine updated to take the mega hoop. My husband just got me the d1 and he is looking to get the embroidery attachment and I would like to do larger designs so would like the machine calibrated for it. Thanks

    Karla, Can you tell me... Does the Embrilliance software convert actual pictures to embroidery designs? I'm looking to convert a picture of my husbands car to embroider onto shirts. If not, what would you recommend?

    • @stylesandsmarts
      @stylesandsmarts  7 лет назад

      As far as I know the Embrilliance software does not convert photos. I've never had it done myself so I can't recommend anything, sorry.

    Very nice tutorial. What Embrilliance programm dus you use? Just “Essentials”?

    • @karlaedson1003
      @karlaedson1003 6 лет назад +1

      Yes. Essentials does everything I need it to do. I don't digitize but if you do Embrilliance has some software for that and I'm sure it is just as fantastic.

    When you put your design in and it is too big, you can go up to the percentage and reduce the percentage to get it the size you want.

    • @karlaedson1003
      @karlaedson1003 6 лет назад +1

      Absolutely! Essentials will let you increase or decrease 50%

    Your videos are very informative. What external floppy disk drive did you use. I have had my D1 for 12 years and have been limited on embroidery designs. I plan on keeping my D1 as long as I can get the external floppy disk. What one do you recommend? Also I am considering looking at other brands since Viking is no longer made in Sweden.
    Would you be willing to suggest or recommend an embroidery machine that you believe is comparable in quality and features to what Viking used to be?

    • @stylesandsmarts
      @stylesandsmarts  5 лет назад

      Hi! I don't remember which external drive I used, I no longer own this machine so I don't need one anymore. My new machine is also a Viking, so I don't really have any recommendations for non-Viking machines.

    • @vickifischer8619

      I have looked at the Epic. I like the enlarged area between the needle and the main part of the machine. I sew alot of blankets and need that extra space. With your experience with Viking, would you recommend the Epic?

    • @karlaedson1003
      @karlaedson1003 5 лет назад

      Vicki Fischer I like the Epic too for the same reason. Even as small as my hands are, I’ve had to develop some techniques to get my needle threaded. I don’t know how soon you are looking to purchase but if you wait til Black Friday (in November) Viking always puts out a 50%-off pre-owned machines coupons. If you can find a used Epic at a Viking Gallery, you could get it for a song!

    2019 update www.data7consultancy.com/ "Embroidery Design Suite" - Under $50 & works MUCH better than Embrilliance. No I'm not connected in any way to Data7 - but I LOVE it! Now to figure out this USB emulator... I installed a 1.44 Gotek USB emulator on my D1 - keep getting "File not supported". Maybe I'll have to reinstall the floppy drive?
