The only time we drank soda as kids was while staying at a Days Inn and were allowed to get it from a vending machine. My sister drank Orange Crush and I always got the grape. Good times. ☀️

My first car was a ‘77 bug so that’s what I learned to drive with but I haven’t driven a stick in 20 years. It would be interesting to see if the muscle memory is still there. My husband used to change our oil but as the cars got fancier and fancier he just takes it in for everything now. But he uses that orange hand cleaner for other dirty work. I love the way it smells. Love Advent Calendars! This year I found one for my dog. Can't wait to see what's in it. Never changed the oil in my car, but I've had cars with a stick shift. After a while, you don't even think about it. Have a great Sunday, Dr. Dray!
I’ve been sick in the hospital the past few weeks and your videos really help with anxiety and just trying to forget the illness. I even appreciate the plumbing update lol 🤍 thank you for your videos
I used to have severe acne and birth control + spironolactone saved my skin. I've never gotten the explanation for how it works before hearing Dr dray explain it in this video! Thanks for your content :)
I learned how to drive in a stick shift truck. My son also learned to drive a stick shift in high school but I agree that they seem to be going away. I do not change my own oil but my husband does. I really enjoy your vlog videos and find them relaxing!
I agree with you, Andrea!! I can’t imagine why in the heck you would drink those nasty energy drinks!! They are nasty!! I am 70 and I’ve been drinking coffee since I was in the womb!! A world without coffee is hard to wrap my head around!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
@Jennifer I was drinking coffee since womb days too! And my mom says her mom used to give it to her in a baby bottle😬🤦😂 Are you hispanic? I think it's a cultural thing for us.
I learned to drive with stick on the column. My dad stood outside the truck & tried to instruct me. Not pretty. But now I can drive most anything. And my husband changes the oil in all of our vehicles. More reliable that way.
Dr.Dray you have helped me so much. Went to dinner last night after so long and I didn’t wear foundation! My skin so much better because of you and embracing my wise laugh lines and wrinkles. Also exercise more and love my candles for relax time. Happy Sunday! You have made my life better. 🙏
I love any advent calendar. It was a tradition our family did for years. I still do it also. I actually do know how to drive stick shift. My Dad had this old car and told me if I wanted to drive I had to learn, and I did lol. I used to change my own oil, but have not for some years. Can I just say I love the PJ's and they do look very soft, super cute! And your nails, I have been loving that color on you, so pretty! I sooo need those Run DMC dolls/littles. I love the Adidas sneakers they are wearing...they really stuck to their outfits. What a great find. Wishing you a lovely day and Happy Sunday!
Yes Biolage! Its thick and melts away the tangles in my afro-textured hair in minutes. I have used up two big jars and one jumbo tube in the last three years.
I used to change my own oil when i was younger. Very glad to learn how from my dad, but its one of those things that its just more convenient to drop it off at a shop now. And yes used to have a stick shift, but not anymore. Its very fun to drive.
Hello, Dr. Dray. I really enjoyed you today. Thank you for asking us. I learned to drive on my parents Chrysler minivan with manual transmission, and I’m so glad I did. The two cars I have owned have been standard transmission; I really enjoy being able to control the car via shifting, that adds to the enjoyment of driving for me. I believe it would be valuable to add basic car maintenance as part of driver education, as I never learned to change oil. Thank you and enjoy your day.
I learned to drive on a stick shift. I then bought a stick shift car. Loved it. Now drive automatic but I could drive a stick shift if I needed today. Once you own one you never forget how to drive it. ❤️
Definitely don't change my own car oil. I learned to drive a stick shift as my very first car! I'm from Massachusetts, very rural. Just me and my mom, we headed out to a long, quiet street and I learned! You already know how to drive, so I don't think learning a stick would be that hard. I can't believe those maintenance workers didn't stay to see if the problem was solved with your toilet! Goop is alive and well up here! Loving those pajamas and your nail polish is a perfect color for you! Have a great week, talk to you soon!!
I learned to drive on a manual transmission and my first car was also manual transmission. My boyfriend still owns a truck with manual transmission so I can get practice in from time to time. I do not change my own oil however. Great vlog!
Totally buying the Run DMC little people!!! Also, it was a corroded/loose seal on the valve that the flapper plugs in your toilet. You have to remove all water from the tank to replace and reseal the valve. Glad your toilet is fixed!
Hello Andrea! I actually have a manual transmission vehicle. My first car was a stick so I had to learn BC it was all I could afford. I’m a bit older than you and it was far more common in my day. Your nails are looking fabulous!!
I learnt to drive with a stick-shift and I drive one today. In South Africa, we call it a manual. Also, it's quite fascinating how enjoyable and relaxing your vlogs are.
A tip for next time u'll have to deal with stickers: just use your hair dryer to dissolve the glue! It's so much easier than scraping! Thanks for this update! Have a nice Sunday ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
Vegetable oil (or canola, olive, whatever's handy) works too!!! If you rub it on and let it sit for a few minutes, it should start to break down the glue, then you can usually just peel or buff the sticker off and wipe or wash the surface clean. It's messier, but is a good alternative for plastic items and other materials that might not fare well in heat.
Yes!! I drive a stick shift and it's a Mazda 3! It gives me that option of a manual turbo boost. And no, I do not change my own oil...yack, not worth the trouble.
I love "Goo Gone" for removing sticker residue. My dad kindly used to change my oil, but as he's aged, it began to get cumbersome. So now I take it to get changed. I at one point used to know how to drive a stick shift!! But it's been many, many years since I've practiced. Hopefully if I ever need to, it'll come back to me. I remember it just being a matter of timing the clutch right... Loved the vlog Dr. Dray!
In the UK we mainly drive manual, stick shift cars. I think it took me two months to learn to drive. I still don't really like driving them to be honest. The stress on a hill to do a hill start is real!
The best solvent to remove stickers and loosen glue is Bestine Solvent &Thinner. Can be ordered from Amazon. It was used in the olden days , pre computer in the advertising and newspaper industry . Completely harmless on any surface.
My grandmother owned a small market, so when we visited, we’d each get a soda (grape) for me. Back in the day it came in a bottle. We would also be given a small bag so we could pick out a dimes worth of penny candy. Fun childhood memory. You’re right about the stick shift, there could come a day. I actually had fun learning. Yes, there was laughter, but overall learned rather quickly.
I don’t drive stick shift but my daughter does since she got her license. She loves it and been driving it to University for over 4 years now( she’ll be finishing Uni this Dec). I admire women who can change oils for their vehicle and what not as I don’t know how to do this myself (husband does it all for me). Happy Sunday !
Since I am single and don't want all the hassle of having to put up a tree (disabled), I had this tiny little real (flocked) Christmas tree a couple years ago. My mom tried planting it out in the garden flower beds once Christmas was over, but that flocking really did a number on that thing, and such a mess all over, inside and outside!
Love the comfy sherpa top and joggers outfit. It's something I would wear myself. I'm in my 40s and I don't drive because I freak out with anxiety. But watching you enjoying a lovely Sunday is satisfying.
I learned to drive a stick or three-on-tree when I was 16 years old back in the 80s. I have yet to need the skill but I can say that my Dad was extremely patient with teaching me how to drive.
I drive a stick shift. You need to know. I had to drive a fork lift one time in an emergency. I don’t change my oil, but I do change my air filter. Windshield wipers and lights. Love you Dr Dray.
I like Goo Be Gone for labels. I find it more gentle than WD40 and even Goop. Sometimes I just wet the label and scrape off with a plastic scraper. Depends how bad the glue is. Glad your toilet finally got fixed. Sheesh! 😅
I drive a stick but I’ve never changed my own oil. I learned how to drive on a stick shift car (more like a truck). It was only years later when I first got to drive an automatic which traumatised me to this day. I pressed on the gas pedal too hard and, since I was used to clutching, I ended up breaking too hard and abruptly without a clutch to soften/somehow control both. I’ve never driven an autonatic since then. Been watching Dr. Dray way before 20k subscribers and back when I used to have a 7 to 10 step skin care regimen to control my breakouts. Fast forward now to 1.3million subscribers and having trimmed my regimen to 3 or 4, I no longer breakout as much (except for 1 to 3 zits during that time of the month).
Thank you for mentioning the viewer who uses the ninja dual coffee pot. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for and it’s now on my Christmas list!😃 I always learn something new when watching your videos!! 🥰
I was on contraception and when I stopped I suffered so bad with my skin, not only breakouts, but rosacea flares to,I never suffered before, not as even as a teen, only this year 5 hrs after stopping has my skin got back to normal!
I bought my first brand new car when I was 21 and it was a stick because I was determined to learn. I didnt know how and had never driven a stick before. My best friend, who drove a stick, came with me to pick it up and she drove to a school parking lot that was empty and she taught me to drive it. We were there for a couple hours. The first few weeks driving was an adventure lol. Im 54 now and just bought my first automatic car a couple years ago. I love the ease of driving the automatic but do miss the fun of the stick. I have never changed my own oil. The most I do is pump my own gas and fill the windshield washer fluid, the rest I leave to the pros.
I found learning to drive stressful as well! Learned on my dad’s automatic. 6 years later, I bought my own car to go away to grad school with and wanted a manual. My family was all against it, but I went for it!! It was a 4 year old used Mazda 3 and the salesman offered to give me a couple of basic lessons first before I even signed the papers! I traded it in 6.5 years later for a manual 2 year old used Chevy Cruze hatchback 😊 I think my location of residence will determine whether or not I get another manual after this one, but I wasn’t ready to give it up when I bought my Chevy! I do enjoy driving though, so that’s important in the decision making process.
I have always driven cars with manual transmissions/stick shifts! I drive an old Saab convertible that I picked up new at the factory in Trollhattan, Sweden, drove it around Europe for a bit, and then had it shipped to the 🇺🇸. 💗😎👏
In Belgium people all but a select few drove stick shifts. It's how you learn to drive here, in France too, and I think Germany as well. But the last decade automatics have become so much more popular here. My dad and my family drove an automatic well before it got popular. In fact, since I went for my driver's permit, as of that year, it needed to be put on your license if you took your exam with an automatic because you are not allowed to drive a stick shift vehicle with your license in that case, the years before me still could. In(s)ane rules, if you ask me. The EU is very strict on the licenses!
I’m into hair treatments too , I learnt stick shift we say ‘driving a manual’ in 🇦🇺 Aus , it’s old school so at least I can jump in any car, but once you go automatic you never want to drive manual again.👍
Bering's Hardware! OMG, you're killing me! There is NO other place like it in the world. The absolute best! Love the Bioderma Atoderm. NEVER drove a stick-shift. Love and hugs.
My boyfriend changes the oil in my car, I can drive a stick shift in my Dodge F250 truck. You are correct, there aren’t many standard transmissions offered in vehicles anymore. Which is too bad. If you drive in mountainous areas, you need to down shift and avoid using your brakes.
Good morning. Yes , I drive stick and I’ve been in the position where I had to move a car because no one else knew how to drive stick. It’s a skill for your tool box. I know how to change my oil but don’t do it myself anymore. Everyone should have a basic idea of how cars work and basic servicing. Have a good day.
I actually learned how to drive on a stick shift car because it was the only car my parents had! I still drive a stick to this day as I inherited my dad's truck. I like it except when I'm stuck in traffic.
Have only owned cars with a manual transmission. Have had my current car for 16 years and will likely get another manual if possible. I don't change my oil however.
Stick shift was the first car ever learned to drive. I have a 1999 Mazda Miata convertible that is a stick shift and I don’t have to worry about someone trying to steal it these days. Goop is sold at Lowes… oh yea, I do not change my oil.
Catching up on videos, so I’m late to the party, but yes, I can drive a standard (stick) shift car. My first two vehicles were standard shift (5-speed), & when my husband first moved over from Scotland, he purchased a 6-speed standard which I drove occasionally. It is a skill like riding a bicycle that, once learned, you never forget. And the advantage to having a standard shift vehicle is that since most criminals have no idea of how to drive them (at least here in the US), they are rarely stolen! Haha!😄 P. S. I never have changed my own car oil, but my dad used to change it (& did all our vehicle repairs) when I was growing up until everything went metric with tools. And yes, GOOP still exists & is great for removing grease stains from clothing too. 😉
I do love stick shifts! I feel like they’re safer too. You can downshift and brake in case it’s necessary. Only base model (non luxury) cars have them anymore. I tried to find them for my kids so that they’d know how to drive them if they found themselves abroad renting a car. ( I also wanted discourage texting and driving.) I ended up getting a base model Honda Fit for my son. It isn’t difficult at all to learn to drive a manual.
Great logic regarding your kids driving abroad! I was so thankful that I was extremely proficient at driving a standard shift when I first went to England & rented a vehicle there. Obviously, the manual shift was on the left side (I’m dominant lefty anyway, but also ambidextrous which helped), & thankfully, the clutch & brake were in the usual configuration on the floorboard. 😄👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the video! Some of us can't take spironolactone. Can you discuss supplements for hormonal acne that are androgen receptor antagonists, like DIM, spearmint, and licorice? Edit: And supplements that claim to reduce acne-causing bacteria like lactoferrin. Thanks!
Yessss I was prescribed spironolactone for acne. I had a rapid heart rate night 3, woke me up out of my sleep only 50 mg. I’m scared to take it again. Need suggestions
@@raven6230 look up anti androgen supplements. I personally take saw palmetto and inositol, although I’ve never taken spiro so idk how well it compares. other supplements include DIM, reishi mushroom, spearmint, licorice, green tea. also apostrophe offers topical spironolactone in their formulas :) aczone is also another great prescription topical for female hormonal acne. then theres the BC pill which lowers androgen but i wouldn’t recommend it since when you go off it your acne comes back and it’s not feasible to be on forever versus a supplement or topical. also studies show a low sugar lower carb diet is the best for hormonal acne, and also watch out for dairy which can also mess w your hormones
I don’t change my own oil and I don’t have a stick shift but I learned to drive with a 1957 Chevy pickup with a stick shift and my first car was a stick shift. It was fun 😁
I doordash in Honolulu, and traffic and no tips are the downfall 😒 if you don’t tip your drivers, you have no business ordering through these apps. Thank you for mentioning this!
I learned to drive stick and love it to this day. I have reached critical mass and want to learn how to change my own oil. I am 67 y.o.....with a abfab skin btw.
My first car was a stick. I did not and do not enjoy that type of driving. It is not relaxing and driving is stressful enough. Also I think it is hard on the knee that operates the clutch. I have not viewed for a while. Whatever you are doing for your skin right now is perfect for you! I really enjoy your posts. Loved the Run DMC Little People. You are such a strong individual just doing your thing everyday. (Even still, I do miss your Mom and Tybee. I hope all is well.)
I learned driving with a stick shift car. In China, we go to trainings in the driving school to get a driver’s license. we can choose to take different tests for driving different types of cars. Most people choose the cars with a stick shift. But now more people start to take the test for the automatic cars cause the test is easier and very few people actually drive manual cars in real life anyways.
Learned how to drive in a car with standard transmission. Had a car with one for a while after that and that was it. Have never changed my own oil or tire.
Never changed motor oil added oil to my old car spilled it on motor … started to smoke thought my mother was going to take my head off … 😀want to learn stick … but I just don’t know…😀😀😀
Happy Sunday! I bought and loooove the Betsey Johnson earrings from a few weeks back. Thanks for the recommendation. I know how to drive a stick shift but own an automatic. I get my oil changes at the dealer.
My husband changes his own oil. I just go get it changed. Both of us can drive a stick but don’t. It makes me sad to think sticks may be on the way out. I found the two I had to be a lot of fun to drive!
Kool Ad was my childhood beverage. Soda was only on special occasions. I do not change my own oil. That is a messy job.😂 I never learned to drive a stick and am too old to change now.
I’ve driven stick shift cars since taking my license. Here in Sweden, if you don’t drive a stick shift when getting your license, your license doesn’t cover stick shifted cars. So I learned stick shift first, and it just feels weird to drive an automatic. But I don’t change my own oil, sometimes my husband does, but I’m not much for cars so if something needs done on it, I take it to a mechanic ☺️
That technivorm is hands down the best coffee maker available....in drip of course Its super engineered for the perfect temperature and water contact time ....optimal flavor extraction
I like the Halloween decorations! Have you tried the candles with the wooden crackling wick? They are pretty neat! I’m burning a caramel donut one currently for fall.
I love the thumbnail of the video! And I am learning to drive right now and chose the stick shift, I'm glad I did cause I got it down pretty well after some time and not knowing how to drive it would give me FOMO lol
Can you talk about stopping oral contraceptives and the effects it can have on the skin. Also if differin will help once you’ve stopped the contraceptive
Thanks for the video / conversation :) ❤. And many thanks for telling about Kathy Hester in some vlogs. It looks so easy when you and Kathy make videos and inspire and teach. Exciting thanks. It's art, you're an artist :) ❤! - I think Cheryl should soon get on a diet, or maybe get a treadmill, like yours? Happy Sunday! And thanks for today's Vlog
I love grape flavour drinks and I normally get grape soft drink or grape juice from my local Korean grocery stores. Weirdly in Australia, it’s not common to have grape flavoured soft drink or grape soda. I can only get grape soda from American style candy shop or American style burger place. I don’t think I ever found grape flavour soda in our grocery stores. I don’t know why 🤷♀️
I learned to drive in the late 70s so driving stick was just part of the equation. I changed my own oil once (my dad thought i should know how). And i have some Goop here at the house so it hasnt gone anywhere! Like you i enjoy your vlogs as a conversation. I just looked at some of your first ones and you have really come into your own. Well done!
Greetings from rural Rosenberg, Texas.🤠Great Vlog today! Love the Sherpa jacket. Goop also had a powder soap that my Father used in the 70’s to was his hands after work in our basement cement double-sink. Love the Costco in Sugar Land. Going to try and snag a pair of the pj’s if they carry them at our store. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 💙the channel.
I learned to drive on a stick shift and my first car was a VW Beetle. Fast forward, after many years of driving automatics, we bought our son a stick shift, and I had to teach him how-it was so funny, but it came back to me after all those years.
The only time we drank soda as kids was while staying at a Days Inn and were allowed to get it from a vending machine. My sister drank Orange Crush and I always got the grape. Good times. ☀️

Love the slightly spooky accompanying music! 👻
I can drive a stick. Taught my daughter how to drive one during the closures from the pandemic when the streets were quite empty.
Greetings from LA🧡
I love hormonal acne videos because I’m dealing with it right now after getting off birth control pills :/
Goop still available - orange variety - Harbor Freight and car parts stores. Yer welcome...
It feels so good to do video shopping 🛍 with Dr. Dray. I can do it everyday from my cozy sofa🧡. Thanks doctor.
My boyfriend changes the oil in my car, I can drive a stick shift in my Dodge F250 truck. You are correct, there aren’t many standard transmissions offered in vehicles anymore. Which is too bad. If you drive in mountainous areas, you need to down shift and avoid using your brakes.
I do drive a stick. I have not changed my oil yet. But I will in the future. Unless there's 20 below weather.
Hi Dr.Dray . Great info always . I missed seeing your mom.
15:50 Those coral and blue colors look so pretty together!
Thanks!
seconding this!
Yessss I was prescribed spironolactone for acne. I had a rapid heart rate night 3, woke me up out of my sleep only 50 mg. I’m scared to take it again. Need suggestions
@@raven6230 look up anti androgen supplements. I personally take saw
palmetto and inositol, although I’ve never taken spiro so idk how well it compares. other supplements include DIM, reishi mushroom, spearmint, licorice, green tea. also apostrophe offers topical spironolactone in their formulas :) aczone is also another great prescription topical for female hormonal acne. then theres the BC pill which lowers androgen but i wouldn’t recommend it since when you go off it your acne comes back and it’s not feasible to be on forever versus a supplement or topical. also studies show a low sugar lower carb diet is the best for hormonal acne, and also watch out for dairy which can also mess w your hormones
I don't change my own oil. I had to buy a car last year...I got a 2020 hyundai veloster turbo. It's a stick shift...and I love it 😁
Love the Run DMC toys!!
Am I the only one who is dying to learn Dr Dray's zodiac sign? 🙃
In the UK just about everyone drives a manual car and automatic cars are generally considered to be for disabled drivers.
Learned how to drive in a car with standard transmission. Had a car with one for a while after that and that was it. Have never changed my own oil or tire.
I actually recently realized that I get acne when my periods are heavy...
I get my oil
changes at the dealer.
I change my own oil and have always driven stick shift. Love it!
My husband changes his own oil. I just go get it changed. Both of us can drive a stick but don’t. It makes me sad to think sticks may be on the way out. I found the two I had to be a lot of fun to drive!
Your Hwn decor evokes me E.T., the best of all times.
Kool Ad was my childhood beverage. Soda was only on special occasions. I do not change my own oil. That is a messy job.😂 I never learned to drive a stick and am too old to change now.
Happy Sunday Dr Dray!
Happy Sunday
I’ve driven stick shift cars since taking my license. Here in Sweden, if you don’t drive a stick shift when getting your license, your license doesn’t cover stick shifted cars. So I learned stick shift first, and it just feels weird to drive an automatic.
But I don’t change my own oil, sometimes my husband does, but I’m not much for cars so if something needs done on it, I take it to a mechanic ☺️
Happy Sunday. I want more coffee but I'm on the road. Funny about the Run DMC haha
That technivorm is hands down the best coffee maker available....in drip of course
Its super engineered for the perfect temperature and water contact time ....optimal flavor extraction
Love the nail polish!
Happy Sunday Queen!!!!
Happy Sunday
Thanks for the video / conversation :) ❤. And many thanks for telling about Kathy Hester in some vlogs. It looks so easy when you and Kathy make videos and inspire and teach. Exciting thanks. It's art, you're an artist :) ❤! - I think Cheryl should soon get on a diet, or maybe get a treadmill, like yours? Happy Sunday! And thanks for today's Vlog
Yes vlog! Thanks Dr. Dray, Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday
Well done!
Goo-gone is another great product for removing stickers, etc
The man unit changes my oil... and I do drive a stick... It is a very cute VW Beetle with a turbo engine... :)
