This was sad as hell. It doesn't just represent the death of the childhoods of those who grew up with Toys R Us, nor does it just represent the death of a toystore chain, but it represents a major shift in our society. Whether that shift is good or bad is still to be decided, but I will forever consider myself fortunate to have grown up in a era before computers and smart phones, playing with my big bin of Ninja Turtles toys on my bedroom floor and being in awe of the rows of plastic packages of countless action figures and toys on those occasions I got to go to Toys R Us. Great video.

hey dude. I know how you feel. I was just shopping at target with my cousin who is 6, and seeing some of the things they’re selling and forcing into the brains of kids her age was.... ugh.
Remember when that trip to toys R us was the highlight of the month? Remember when you didn’t know what LOL meant? Ugh.... she’s just been completely... well.... brainwashed by all this stuff, and it’s sickening. I know what you mean.

I think something people need to understand is that things change and that though something may be different that doesnt mean it is inherently bad. And i have no doubt that when a majority of people became literate parents were complaining that kids were just stuck inside reading instead of playing outside, the older generation has been badmouthing what the younger generation does for generations.
When a video makes you feel sentimental about a store you only went to twice...
once. And I didn't buy anything..

I honestly only knew Toys R Us from western advertisements. We didn't have this chain where I live. It opened maybe two years ago or so in the town I'm at.
We probably had it in the capital and some bigger cities though.

As silly as it might sound, even though I’m now considered an adult, even practicing driving, I still am going to miss the childlike whimsy of just a store full of toys. Even if I never truly bought anything it saddens me to so that I can’t ever take someone like my kid to one of my favorite places when I was younger.
Thankfully you won't have to, literally two hours after this was uploaded, toys r us cancelled their bankruptcy and they're set for a revival!! 😍

For about 5 mins I thought you were quitting and I was sad. Then I realized it was a Toys "R" Us tribute and I was somehow even sadder.
The best part is that not long after the video dropped it was revealed the brand might be revived!!! All hail Sculpture Geek!!!!
As someone who worked there as a childhood dream job, I have to say that this is an amazing tribute, I know not a lot of people who worked for the company have seen this, but believe me when I say thank you, this is a perfect send off to all those wonderful memories made with what I considered to be my family.

It’s sad when you realize how much they were trying to advertise this place before it shut down, the toy box, toy of the week on nick etc., it’s just really sad, it was as if they were trying to avoid the inevitable.

@@Hy-Brasil Naaah, I called BS on the bankruptcy when they announced the closing months ago. Corporations lie all the time. They got out of one financial situation, just to restart again. I believe it's gonna happen. That's too much money on the table to not take advantage. The brand is too strong.
Well I guess we will find out within the next year maybe, and even if they do make a comeback, it going to be REALLY hard, with all their places shut down and possibly where they had them bought and what not, so in my opinion I feel like it’s over

I remember going to Toys R Us just for the sake of being there.
I remember going there recently (I live in Canada) and I miss the sounds of children laughing and running around looking for toys.

Oh my God that was soooo good, what an amazing tribute to something that was so dear to my heart, and I'm sure many others, as a kid. Who didn't love going to toys r us and walking up and down massive aisles of shiny new and beautifully colored toys. Godam I miss the eighties.

Can you do a tutorial of your supplies you use for casting? I have a few sculpture I would like to cast but I can't find out how. I would like a reusable mold and to keep the original sculpture. But I am also broke so something not expensive, like cheap alternatives that ACTUALLY work
