    Yeager, years ago you had an awesome video (with a former employee) doing a 2 man bounding drill. In that video you showed why tugging on that mag after insertion was important and why the guy moving waited to hear the cover guy fire multiple rounds before moving (if the cover guy is running an AR). That tugging insures the magazine is actually seated and you wont get the dreaded one round fired and magazine falls to the ground leaving the moving man complete exposed without cover fire.
    I know the video will never be uploaded but a remake would be awesome.

  • @NoEdits704

    This is very valid. When I was new to guns, my wife woke me up saying we had someone in the house. First AR, fully loaded mag, tried to pull the bolt back and load, couldn't. I panicked and tried several times, couldn't load a round. I learned quickly how important it is to not load too many rounds.

      New to firearms at that time

    • @themobsprinter
      @themobsprinter 5 лет назад +10

      I can attest to that as well. I was coming home with a guy from just buying my first AR. Suddenly we get a call from the guys wife saying there's a guy out front of the guys house. She called 911 but the dispatcher said they had nobody to send (small town) We practically flew to the guys house and as he's breaking the speedometer I'm stuffing ammo into magazines getting ready for a fight. We didn't know who they were or how many they were, only that they wouldn't leave. I stuff a mag in about halfway to the guys house and he asked me not to chamber a round, which I obliged. After we finally arrive after averaging probably 85 or 90 mph the whole drive, I step out, stressed as hell and watching and listening for any signs of danger. As I step out my magazine takes a shit because I didn't seat it properly. All this happening while I'm in the middle of nowhere expecting to be shot at, at any time. I don't make that anymore, I can assure you.

    • @lostsaxon7478
      @lostsaxon7478 5 лет назад +1

      I guess it might depend on the gun. Just tried with mine and a good hard slam will get it seated and I was able to move the bolt relatively easy back n forth without loading a round, but that situation you had is a perfect example of why people should try it before they need it. Since it's not an issue with mine, I'll go ahead and keep those 2-4 rounds.

      @@themobsprinter "She called 911 but the dispatcher said they had nobody to send "
      What kind of town was that? A small town with multiple priority 1 calls going on at the same time? What about the local Sheriff, adjoining town or a game warden. They usually all back each other up in small/rural areas.

    also, great idea to drive home the ejection port down when clearing..
    I've made the same mistake where I rotate the ar counter clockwise (port up) to see that I was clearing a malfunction.. and then had two rounds in the receiver.. then of course.. rotate it port down and shake.. and they fall out..
    could've been solved with port down, then charge to clear..
    again.. priceless info.

Only saw it once on an m4 and the armorer was less than happy to deal with that bs, no idea how it happened since it wasn't me but I tried to help clear it but nothing moved and bolt was locked back so I thought gas key broke off and spun.

      @RagnarOdinson 5 лет назад

      Just had a (possibly) great idea, lol: If a mag company can make a 32 rounder that's still about the same length as a standard 30 (it could be Slightly longer if necessary), and add some sort of tactile, audible, and visual (perhaps some combination of 1, 2, or all 3) indicator when you get to 30 rounds... That COULD be a cool feature. 'Cause it's super annoying when loading mags and ya lose count, at least to me Lol😜.
      It may seem bit gimmicky and may only a niche feature... But if the next gen Pmag or Lancer, etc. came out with that?? I think I'd at least give it a go. 🍻!

    What causes a bolt to intermittently not lock back on last round? I’ve tried different magazines, buffer springs, brands of ammunition. Also once in a while it tries to feed 2 at a time. It’s almost a brand new build. My other AR a M&P functions flawlessly.

    • @MCgrease08
      @MCgrease08 5 лет назад

      Check your gas system. You may either be under gassed (not enough force for the bolt to catch), or over gassed (bolt slamming so hard to force causes it to fly forward before catching).
