- Today we join Ian Reed at historic William Bennett RC field in Las Vegas, Nevada as he shows us a fun flight with his vintage FMS A6M3 Zero! Ian bought this nice model a few months ago, and has slightly upgraded it, making it much more flyable by today's standards (Ian upgraded the motor, ESC, and replaced several of the servos.)
This model was released by FMS about 2011, and Ian seems to think this may be from one of the original batches. A classic RC model airplane for sure, and it's hard to go wrong with a Zero!
Hope you enjoyed this trip to the field, thanks for watching! Наука

It sure is my friend!

Thank you my friend 😎👍
Great landings. Merry Christmas my friend.
Thanks Rodger and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
This is one that ive always had my eye on...
For sure brother! They fly so good...I wish I never sold mine because now they are crazy expensive. I would like to find an IJN Grey one someday...
Looks like a nice flyer
It sure does John!
Ian great flying. FMS is still selling these. Jeff in LA USA
These are awesome planes Jeff!! I just might have to get another one....
I had a few of those FMS 1400mm birds. They all flew well, but many were under powered. My favorite was their Hellcat. Oddly enough, the Zero was the only one I never flew.
Hey there brother! I only ever had the Zero in the series, and I thought it had absolutely gobs of power. Could perform some amazing maneuvers that required some pretty healthy uplines, all of them easily. I shot video a while back of a couple of the birds at SEFF in 2018, (the P-40 and the P-47) and those planes seemed to have plenty of power; in fact the P-40 flat out ripped! Horizon must have been paying attention to that as many of their Warbirds appear to be made by FMS but with Horizon spec equipment. Thanks for checking in my friend, happy landings!
Nice flight but nice narrative! Blue sky’s John!
Thanks Francisco! All the best my friend 😁👍
:) RUclips recommended me this video again :)
@@ficosk8 Cool 😁👍😎
Great flyer, but forget it if you are off of grass. I've changed the gear for 1400mm FMS P51 3" wheels and oleo's, raked them forward which needed foam cutting, reversed the Battery and esc positions, battery is now low down in the cowl with the esc in the old battery position and on high rates it will just taxi on cut grass.
I hear you my friend, the Zero is not the best off of grass for sure, but in all other ways she's a pussycat! Thanks for checking in, all the best to you!
One of my favorites. Probably the easiest to fly warbird ever😊
Yessir! A nice, honest flying plane for sure 😁👍
I had a thought, can you Lazer tag Dog fight with these? 😂 so cool..
Perhaps 🤔😁
@@JustwingitRC gotcha thinkin' 😂actually in hindsight I think flite test did that.
I had 2 when they first came out. Flew them both till they fell apart.. wish the woul make a bigger one....1800plus mm
Yessir, these things are just amazing models for sure. Great looking, super stable flyers, they are hard to beat! I totally agree, a larger plane would be amazing. Happy landings my friend!
That's what you call.... airbrakes!! 👍👍👍
Indeed my friend 😄👍
