- Finding myself in a tight spot, I ended up buying a new work truck. Gear storage, adding door decals, and installing a hidden winch.
The winch is this one: amzn.to/3QDMYcc
The NOCO plug is here: amzn.to/3Qi4S2D
The truck topper is one of these: www.4are.com/product/commerci...

Wow, Im grateful my dad can fix all my own stuff. For less than a garage. No matter what is the issue.
My chipper motor blew, had a new one in there In 2 days. Truck motor went, had the new motor in 3 days and was back to work. Screw buying a whole new truck. I thank God for my dad and his abilities. He’s a blessing
What a great deal! excellent man ... so cool
Unexpected vehicle purchases are no fun.
I'm glad you found one.
I like the storage compatments outside the topper.
Nice winch setup.
Thanks buddy. It's always good to see your treework pics on Insta!
Nice. Little chipers great. But each to there own.
Congrats (I guess) on the newer truck. I’m sure it’s a blessing and an unexpected cost. At least in the future you have your “redundant” back up.
If it starts when you turn the key it’s an good truck 🤙🏻
Climb smart Keep safe
Congrats brother.
Congratulations on the new 6.7! May it serve you well, as always extremely enjoyable video
Best of luck for a long-lived new truck
Big thanks!
I hope to buy a truck for my small tree service. I enjoy your content much. thank you Spencer
Small tree service! I like the sound of that man. Sounds excellent
All those fancy extras in the truck means more to go wrong. All the new modern vehicles have a built-in redundancy. An extender for the winch switch sounds good I was going to suggest make an external tool and store it in one of those shelves.
You said it man ... every bell and whistle on these new vehicles is a complex replacement waiting to happen :)
Enjoyed the video. Nice setup. Good luck with the new truck.
Redundancy is a good thing when it comes to tree work. Nice truck! I'm sure you will get used to it. Nice job on the winch mount too!
Thanks buddy! so far so good
Nice truck!
Good to see the wee pink saw in its place. Yet to see it in operation...🤔 Perhaps something worthy of it will come along.
Good luck with the Hand Diet! 🤣😂
That little pink saw actually runs on batteries -- or I should say makes sound with batteries. I like to pass it out to little kids who stop to watch, telling them "I need help!" :)
@@metaspencer That is awesome. 😀 (Of course, we all know ye devour kiddies as snacks 😜)
should just be a little allen bolt holding the winch freespool lever on, pull it off and make an extension to get the lever out past the bumper, no hand diet needed!
Yep you said it: just an allen. Gotta figure out an extender for sure :)
Is this the third truck since the business started? I remember a beater one around the time of the bus build that I think you did sliding compartments in the bed, then the most recent one, now this one. Regardless, always moving up!! I like the advice you gave about having enough money put back to replace everything you have, if needed. I should implement that in daily life with all of the junk and plants I buy for this homestead...lol.
Good memory! Actually the 4th: there was my Dad's old 1990 Chevy, which I still have (needs a fuel pump) ... then a 1997 F250 that I loved (rust consumed it and I sold it to a teenager with hopes and dreams) ... then the one that left me stranded a few weeks ago ... then this "new" one. Going through this now with you I'm sensing a theme: trucks are not to be trusted! haha ...
Nice truck, I like it.
Wow you have all the cool stuff nice truck great matching cap. It all came together at the right time.
I got lucky finding that cap! so far so good. thanks buddy
I really love you. You are so entertaining.
Nice truck. Gotta love fords. I got a job at a cattle ranch. (+500 cattle). I drive a old 4x4 Ford tractor daily. Loving the job. Met my new girlfriend there.
Great job! All my ford tractors are 2wd so I’m jealous
the new truck is rok-some. I didn't hear anything about your "toy" saw redundancy, tho.
Purchase approved!
That’s an awesome winch setup! Hope the new truck treats you well!
Spray the underside of truck with fluid film to prevent rust.
Absolutely. that stuff is great .... it's only the smell I can't stand :)
You could maybe make a custom bed for the truck so you could have all your equipment on the truck and be able to haul the mini skidsteer while pulling a trailer.
Like having a storage compartment in the front and the mini skidsteer in the back loaded sideways that way it wouldnt interfear with the trailer.
sounds like a great setup! I built a custom bed for the previous truck and it worked out great ... storing the mini on there would save A LOT of trips
@@metaspencer Just make sure your truck stays within specs, having weight behind the rear axle will transfer load from the front to the rearaxle ontop of the weight you put there, in combination with towing a trailer your rearaxle will be pretty maxed out, make sure you put as much other stuff in the front to balance that out, or have the skidsteer behind the cab and your tools in the back.
Polesaw works . Hurts me though ..after allday ..
Nice truck!!! Only issue I’ve had with mine is oil pan leaking.
And yes even rakes, keep two on my truck and both broke on the same job
An oil pan leak! Dang, I'll have to keep an eye out for that. If it's not one thing it's another
Thanks for sharing
Nice Truck Spencer! You set it up very nice!
Sick trucks I like the 6.0
Yeah the 6.0 has been great ... gotta get it back out there!
Congrats on the new to you truck! You will love the power of the 6.7.
Thanks buddy. Yeah you're not kidding -- the power is crazy on this beast
"...they added a seven..." :D
haha yep!
I just bought a 2005 6.0 F350 Dually, and I'm absolutely loving that for tree work so far!
Now THAT sounds like a great truck! I've been very happy with the 6.0 ... just needs some TLC sometimes, but all trucks do. You can really HAUL some stuff with that truck you've got
Looks like 2.0 will be a good workhorse for ya Spencer. Fingers crossed you get many years of trouble free service from it!
Thanks buddy! :)
Hey that was a cool video man. I learned some things. 👍 New sub
great to hear man
Awesome truck Spencer and as always good seeing you posting again your videos have taught me alot about tree trimming and have already used a few tricks that I've seen you do for my landscaping/tree service
I like the sound of that landscaping and tree service! good to hear :)
Damn son baller congrats dude that truck is sick
thanks buddy
Gotta do what you gotta do, good luck Brutta!
My first 5 years in business was buy equipment, equipment breaks down, fix equipment, sell equipment, buy equipment, equipment breaks down, fix equipment, buy equipment........... I must have gone through 6 trucks.
Hey you did one thing really well there: selling the equipment instead of letting it stack up all around you! I'm on truck #4 for the biz myself, so a bit behind ya haha
My newer truck is a 2003 Dodge Cummins crew cab. Bought with 60k miles many years ago. I hate the electronics. Next truck will be older with a mechanically injected Cummins. A truck which can be rebuilt as needed.
My son's got a 2003 Dodge truck, too -- loves it but man those electronics give him fits. I totally see your point, man. My 1963 tractor is such a simple joy to work on. Keep it simple
I really like the storage on the truck. Very nice. The Milwaukee pack out stuff might be a nice option for storage on the inside of the cab. I forget who it was, climbing arborist? had a video of all his stuff stored in the Milwaukee kits, and it was nice and organized. Aside from his ropes, he had all his climbing & rigging in there. I thought it was pretty cool. Climb safe!
Thanks man. I like that Milwaukee stuff so will have to think about that option ... it's definitely a great way to stay organized
Probably "Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics" can help if it's worth keeping on the road ;)
Pine Hollow! thanks for the tip!
You're welcome @@metaspencer .
Good luck! :)
Hate to hear about tree truck 1.0.
Glad to see you again though.
That old truck will ride again! :)
@@metaspencer can’t keep an ol truck down
Been threw 4,1500 size trucks ...same issues .bought them all cash ..but gets hard ..it puts behind everytime have plenty tools ..but seeems truck issue everytime gets me .then add injurys health isdues that last few years came e out of no where.😢...hard with bad or no credit ..at almost 50..no wife or support..i would be greatfull and happy to get my back issie healed..&maybe finaly a bigger truck like yours..had to use 150 size trucks ..1 needs transmission now ..seems a year is all they last .
heal up buddy! with the dang body fightin us it's hard out there!
Hey Spencer! Nice truck, Ive got a 6.7L F250 and have been happy with it. Just need to keep up with the maintenance, fuel filters, oil etc... Hope everything else is going well.
Another 6.7! Lots of crazy electronics but I know what you mean about the maintenance schedule ... gotta do it! I had a 1997 F250 and love it
the boss huh? 😲
Trucks ALWAYS look better with a bumper delete. Prolly not always practical however! I have been playing around with doing it to my Ram. ALSO; My TIPM (Dodge version of your power module) is also going bad. It's affected my A/C and random other things. I know truck/car purchases hurt -- but looks good!
My son's got a 2003 Dodge truck and the electronics are always giving him fits -- if it's not one thing, it's another ya know. :) Thanks man!
I do know, it sucks. @@metaspencer
Good for you ! By the way , is that apple 🍎 a honey crisp , going to get a apple now !!
Dang apples are great this time of year :)
Ahhhhhhhhhhh my friend.. where is the Dodge power wagon??? That is nowhere near a Dodge power wagon.. 😔😔.. It's ok ..we can all dream ..Did you keep the mini skid.😊😊
The dang mini skids are piling up around here! gotta get on Craigslist and sell some of this broken down scrap! :)
My trailer broke. They said bevfew weeks so bought tandem..so behind and wounded..I know the feeling.rather bought a truck then another trailer
Oh man, having a trailer go down is ROUGH. I've been eyeing a galvanized dumper (14' again) but now gotta start saving back up. Hang in!
The new truck seems to have less reverberation in the mic..... so all good bud.
Yeah you said it ... a quiet ride
@@metaspencer u deserve some luxury as u work ur ass off too much I am sure, cos the ground crew is always slacken muahahahahahaha
❤️👍👍👍
Hey Spencer where did you find that topper with big tool box .thats what i need badly for a dodge ram 97...be so much help for keeping gear. My seats are to the roof its nightmare. Thanks god bless
Hey buddy! I first started looking at new toppers and they were waaaaaay overpriced, so looked around on Craigslist and FB Marketplace for a used one. It's working pretty good: nice to be organized and to keep the stuff under cover. Not perfect but getting the job done
