It's really satisfying to watch you turn dirty, rusted knives into top notch knives you'd see chefs use
No professional chef would use such a knife. The blade shape is unpractical for cutting fruits or vegetables in a smooth, efficient motion. Also food can get stuck in the sharp angle between blade and handle.
Sweet restoration, BB. That coin banding thing is pretty cool.
That coin is tunisian money
Yes
@@hajritaoufik8064 i noticed that as well. I think I even have that one.
I'm don't know much about knife making, but won't cutting the tang so thin, make it weak? Love the coin use, and keeping the pitting.
I never understand removing so much from the tang but still enjoy watching the whole process.
Easier on the hand in the long run, and gives a designed point of failure should one be needed.
@@quinn_brock Sorry. Neither of those make any sense. *I can accept that it's just an artistic choice* but your engineering logic is silly. Removing most of the tempered glass area of a car windscreen so, in case of failure, there's fewer bits of glass to cut you is the same inverted reasoning you have proposed.
The *actual* "designed point of failure" is to use a formula of glass which crumbles safely, NOT to just sculpt two thirds of the structure away so that it is barely performing its intended use.
Tool ergonomics depend on the user's hand size and being too small is at least as bad as too big for ANY handle.
@puirYorick It looks more like a knife that will sit on a shelf. I doubt that tang would break but It may certainly bend after some time.
@@chongtak I'm perfectly fine with it as a piece of decoration as I said to the other guy. It keeps a thing out of the trash.
@@puirYorick I agree
Aren't you afraid to have such a small tang on a big knife? It looks like it would bend too easily...
Coin ferule is way cool though :)
Well, he wouldn't be cutting trees so...
@nikos xois indeed
yeah cutting down the tang and a round handle and only one small pin on such a wide big knife. is not great
What a great start in to the Weekend - just enyoing your wonderful restoration video, as always!
That coin idea was amazing!
I know you usually do circular handles, but could you show us how you’d do a oval handle for better edge alignment?
Make cir ular handle. cut sides off. sand
Octogonals are pretty good for that too, and easy to make. Just plane/rip the corners off square or rectangular stock
Love that "dowel" technique for tang fitting.
It's absolutely genius!
Thank you for the amazing content.
Oh eccoti finalmente, me stavo a preoccupa 😁
That tang sure disappeared fast! Little too thin for my liking. But lovely knife!
It's a Tunisian coin 💰I'm so happy to see something from my country in a knife video 🥰😍😘 specially in your RUclips channel 🖤🙈
I love everything about this knife, but the coin makes it for me. I love what you did with the coin!!!
This is in my opinion your most elegant knife yet. An absolute pleasure to watch
great job, congratulations 👏
Beautifull work !
Greetings from Argentina!
And please, more leather works, I reallly love those works ! ☺️
You always have weird tomatoes.
Bro...that is close to a real tomato...
No chemical added to growing,so the can have diferent shapes ..not only perfect round, the tase is sweet and smells like a tomato, supermarket shit hard like stones..and no taste...
By the way u sayed dont think u had the chance to get a proper tomato till this age 😕😔.is sad..a bit i m comming from a country where they still cultivate proper tomatoes just for home use.(there i grew by picking all childhood straight from trees fruits like .peaches, apples pears, watermelon, grapes, prunes..whatever..u name it😁 very grateful for all that😌..onlu few countryz in europe doing it...u just try a salad of those tomato with spring onion, oil and vinegar +salt...u ll never forget it😉
You obviously prefer your tomatoes to be without flavour.
@@UnCoolDad funny, i know this variety as cuore di bue
@@sheerluckholmes5468 I obviously never stated anything like that. Weird doesn't mean tasteless.
Love the combination of wood, metal, and jewelry-making skills!
Never destroy a full tang knife. It looks miserable when it is only blade. I don't think a round handle is right for such a big knife.
It was only to be expected by someone why actually thinks this classifies as a restoration.
one of the most talented on RUclips.... never ceases to amaze me.
Amazing work! Thanks for sharing.
Nice restoration. It was just yesterday, I watched someone make a ring out of a coin for the first time. Very neat.
I'm a simple man. I see BBP upload a video, I click.
Thats me
Super!
That poor little tang!
problm tang lol
Excellent. I loved what you do with the coin. Looks fantastic.
Awesome work! But a round handle profile is always a bad idea for knife (IMHO). - The hand does not know where the blade is pointing.
Most cooks will pinch the blade with thumb and forefinger, with the handle stabilized by the remaining fingers and palm. The key is having a sharp knife so you just need to guide it lightly. Cleavers and such do better with contoured handle, I think.
Beautiful result. Shows what a fine result can be achieved without restoring the item to death. Love the handle..my favourite part of the restoration.
Hi I'm from iraq and love what you do Keep going . Best wishes
Nice wooden choices 😍
Love your restoration 😍
Thin tangs are fine for kitchen knives. Clever use of the dowel, never seen that before
Beautiful work as always, Sir. Thanks for sharing this.; have a great weekend.
This is stunning, man!
Have you ever made a serrated knife before? I think that would be an interesting challenge.
I keep telling my self that I need to do one of these videos. This one turned out pretty cool.
Love the coin ring addition!
Felicitaciones, un trabajo prolijo, delicado y de una calidad impresionante. Muchas gracias por mostrar su habilidad.
Your work is really great and I enjoy watching your videos. Congratulations to you
Great job in taking a serviceable knife with a good full tang and turning it into a pretty little decorative piece with a rat tail that will snap or bend the moment anyone tries to cut a carrot.
What an incredible amount of useful machinery/tools you have in your workshop - I'm very jealous! Take care, Eddie.
Coin trick is insanely beautiful ❤️
Beautiful work! I really admire your abilities and skills. Video had great pacing.
That's very cool. I like the way that you hold the tang in the handle - very clever.
Una meraviglia. Complimenti eccellente lavoro!!!
Linda... E o detalhe da moeda foi um belo toque, parabéns

You always find the coolest rusted knives and restore them better than they were found. You, my friend, are a skilled artisan.
Excelente trabalho 👏 🇧🇷

Amazing! Good job!
Excellent work👍👍👍. Thanks for sharing
Very satisfying work, congrats.
This was a beautiful restoration! I really like that method of using a dowel to insert the tang into the handle. Very ingenius!
Beautiful!!!!!
Vintage coin ring was a nice touch .
Love what you did with the coin.
I love that handle!
always such a joy to watch you work. very satisfying video.
We were waiting for u long time
Great video and I really enjoyed the repurposing of the coin into the handle. And leaving the pitting really adds to the character. I think it turned out great.
you always manage to surprise me ... always something new and different ... Thank you
work of art

Loved the trick with the coin
Another wonderful work of art you just created
So beautiful 🥺
당신의영상은 항상 흥미롭습니다👍
Very nice!
That coin handling is awsome 🥰🥰🥰
Excellent re - use and customization. You make it a wanted kitchen item again. I like what you did with the blade leaving lots of character and then adding a sweep to the edge. More of a slicer and no more pounding bones in the barn!
Excellent job
Beautiful....
El anillo...😁 Muy bonito
This is very well done!
That stretchy mandrel is excellent on that coin. Need one of those for sure
Wow...that shine is amazing...and what you did with the old coin was great! You are SO creative 😁
In this channel I can give a like before watching the video. I never regret it.
