For anybody asking The Front end is tight. Ive double checked it a few times. The Gearbox has some play but that's about it. Ball joints and all tie rods are tight and good and well greased. I believe we have 1 possibly 2 issues. The Trac bar is at the proper angle which is achieved by a drop bracket but it is still a factory style Trac bar. One end has a bushing that has a little bit of play. Im gonna get rid of the bushing style and go with something else. Honestly the play is so little it's very hard to tell. It has never given us an issue before even cruising down the interstate at 80MPH. I think this was one of those perfect scenario moments. On top of that the truck has no front sway bar which lets the truck have a lot of torque roll off the line and when you let out of the throttle. These Issues will both be addressed before we take it back to the track!! Just glad it wasn't any worse... And for anybody telling me not to run the truck down the dragstrip because it's a big diesel and it shouldn't be raced.... Get that negative energy outta here!!!!!! If they will let me run it on a track you bet your ass I'm gonna try it!!! LOL
That was sketchy asf! youll get it fixed and get that 10 second pass!
I put the synergy off road front steering kit on my second Gen super beefy setup with fox stabilizer and get a adjustable track bar
Add at least 2 quality steering dampeners. Will help tremendously
Definitely a track bar doing the dodge death wobble
Bad or week Steering stableizer causes death wabble bad
JH…. We need a JH/Justin vs Cleet/Squirrel junkyard build off and tug of war.
Don’t forget skrrt!!!!
YES
YESSSSS
ABSOLUTELY!!!
“Well, prolly gonna call it after that pass” 🤣 I bet
😂🤣😂
Death wobble is scary at 70 I couldn’t imagine at 125. I’d have to replace the seat lol
and my pants and boxers...
Same
It would have smelled so bad in there
What seat? My a** would have swallowed the whole bench seat.........
I was driving my truck and got death wobbles. It's some scary shit
Ah, I haven't felt a good death wobble in years. Thanks for bringing me back. lmao
I definitely don’t miss it either lol
I had one first time I ever rode a Honda 250cr 2 stroke. Just happened to be on the sand dunes. Scary stuff, haha. It was my first time on a dirt bike to top it off.
First time and it's on a 2 stroke 250? This guy f*cks.@@Living_EDventures
That was the last time I ever drove a shitbox like this on the highway. hahaha@@bassbuggy101
LMAO... I would have been fine without it..
Chevy, with dodge power plant and ford death wobbles. You got all three.😂😂😂
Jeep does it more that any .
Huh? 2nd gen Rams are notorious for death wobble.
Dodge, ford and jeep are the death wobble kings 😂😂
Don't forget about the kingpin 60 in a k30 mine death wobbled at 30 miles an hour and it shot the front grill out and ripped a brake pad off it's pretty much what that truck did at 120
@@carlpreston1680 Maybe maintain the kingpins on a 40 year old axle?
Did anyone else notice the rear sliding glass 😂😂😂 glad you got her to settle down it’s a nice truck!!
Damn dude 11.20 not even cranked up is rolling. I love this truck
Death wobble is where the fun is 😂😂😂 (jeep on tons and 42s so "I know"!!)
You shouldn't be experiencing death wobble with one tons..... You should look into what you did wrong on your steering
@austincassell4741 I know exactly why it does it lol. I'm not running street tires, I have 42" tsl"s on weld on beadlocks. It's a rock crawler that can be drove on the street. I didn't put alot into "balancing" the tires due to it only death wobbles around 35mph and momma didn't raise no b... 🤣 so I just drive through it to 45+ and not worry about it. I could probably throw some balance beads in them and help but it really don't bother me, it's become more fun than a nuisance as I can roll into 35 with an unexpecting passenger a scare the shit out of them🤣
You don’t know how to install nothing bub 😂
@@FullSendFarm You have unbalanced tires, not death wobble.
@ClumsyCars I have death wobble, there's a huge difference bud. I'm not a rookie at death wobble.... I've owned 100s of jeeps I know the difference 😉
The famous second gen death wobble! I’ve been there but not at over 120mph! Lucky she held together with that excessive shaking.
Good driving man you kept er straight
lol that death wobble ain’t no joke when your doing 60+ mph 😂
That there my friend is a loose front suspension.. lol😂. Really like the content bud
Im sure he hasn't done anything to the wheel bearings either lol
Wasn't there something in those second gen Dodges and third gen Dodges like a missing crossmember in the front of the frame that caused the death wobble
Alignment! toe out slightly, and make sure you have a good amount of caster angle. Your trac bar is a definite possibility but a little toe out should help no matter what is causing it
The video sums it up....Take a square body and give it all the problems a Dodge has... transmissions problems, wiring issues and front end problems.
💯 ruined it lol
Add as much caster to the alignment as you can, ideally 7-12 degrees if possible. Done it many of times on all different gens of mopar straight axle vehicles!
Yep. Caster shake.
I studied why this happens to sprint cars sometimes when they don't have enough caster. It's caused by gyroscopic precession slightly lifting one side of the axle, which causes the steering to turn slightly one way, which causes the opposite side to lift slightly, which causes it to steer the other way, then it repeats over and over really quickly, causing caster shake, aka death wobble.
Those death wobbles are no joke, always surprised they don’t just tear things apart.
I’m not sure how you have your lock up switch wired, but there is a way to wire the switch where it won’t lock the converter until the transmission is in 2nd or a higher gear. What that does is it allows you to stage in 1st gear, go ahead and flip the lockup switch, and then when you shift to second the converter will lock up automatically giving you once less switch to hit while you’re going down the track. That’s actually the most common way I’ve seen a dodge lock up switch wired, so yours may already be setup like that. Just something to consider trying. It would definitely be easier than trying to shift to second and flip the lockup switch all at the same time you’re going fast accelerating down the track.
that pop right before decel and death wobble was odd.
that death wobble reminded me of my XJ years some 20 years ago lol
I reckon by the way he looked to the left when the pop happened and he said the mustang was smoking at the end I’d say the pop was the mustang not the truck, just coincidental timing that both happened at the same time
JH has been killin the content lately!
Where's the Busted Bois? I miss my videos! Cleetus kills it
With his good friend cleetus leading the way he's gonna
Justin's Justin is literally the equivalent to Cletus's Squirrel. Such and awesome camera guy that adds so much energy to the videos!
Dude! That second pass you smoked that mustang right off the line!! I could here him thinking, "it's a fucking truck!!!"
Bro you gotta go and finish the job now and smoke the raptor Cletus is DONE!!! 😂
JH is refreshingly honest
That "Dogerrado" or "Silverdodgeo" or whatever you call it is one of my favorite RUclips projects! Great job J&J!
I was thinking Dilverado but yours are good too.
rodgeosilver's the name , and fast passes diesel breaking wind and deathwobbles the game...- on the custom jhdiesle shirt , send me one please for the idea thankx
I live about 2hrs away from Dave Goerend shop. Top notch guys to work with. Great video!!!
I absolutely love this truck and how it's turned out. Keep killin it guys!!!
Death wobble at the racktrack is some scary sheet! Almost smoked a R35 GTR tho 😯
I had a death wobble like that coming over a bridge in a 97 ford f350 dually service truck. Ill never forget that
Caster. Add a bunch of positive caster. It'll be fine. Likely nothing is worn out or broken. The aftermarket always says it's this part or that part and want you to spend a bunch of $$ buying band aides. Look at an old dragster and notice how much positive caster they run - the front wheels look like they are going to flop over when they are turned tight in the pits. That's why. Harder to steer but super stable.
What a rigg! Absolutely unit!! Straight ripper!! OMG !! Let's keep it going man these guys are freaking dialed!!
Add a Thuren track bar and replace your control arms . Most drag racers go to a heim joint on the control arms . Firepunk has them .
Why a Goerend over a Suncoast converter?
The sliding rear window Jimmie had me rollin', that's one way to knock the dust out of the dash!!😂😂 Glad you held it together and stayed safe.
Congrats to the winner! Not going to lie super bummed I didn’t win it! My absolute favorite body style and they way you built it, it’s so freaking clean!
I'm real happy nothing serious happened. But your reaction had me in tears hahaha
Dude the Truck is so sick, awesome build!
New AG1 commercial for cleet 😂 😂
Professionally shaken
11 sec for a full size truck is really good plus it only on the first setting is awesome. That thing is a beast
window tint too boys , man dream truck and engine wowww
that tank slap.... erma gawd dude. glad u still kickin
JHDiesel owes me a truck detail, cause I spit coffee all over my truck when that thing started death wobble…. 😂😂😂 I haven’t laughed that hard in a while, check you pants😂
Glad you're okay! The dukes of Justin
Id love to see a price sheet on this beast! Im in love with the build. I got an 84 k10 and dream of a build like this for it, realistically quite a bit more mild.
Talk about sketchy, that was completely insane!
It looked like the death wobble happened when you got out of it and once you let off it started dancing Man I bet those front wheels where going to town LOL! That was freaking nuts
I love that truck!!! helluva ride on the second pass.!!
Ridin the lightning! Glad your ok brother
It was awesome to meeting you on this night. My mother was just as excited to meet you too. Love the truck!!!
OH MAN i know that feeling! not getting there that fast but death wobble at 110mph made me change my under wear!
Congrats on an amazing FF500 win- wire to wire?!!!?! hell yeah, Diesel! have fun in that chopper
Let's go JH respect to you and Justin watching from England UK keep at it your crushing it
Wow great way to stay calm under a pretty bad circumstance . Awesome save
Bro that Death Wobble! Steering Dampers required lol. Reminded me of the good ole Jeep death wobble! Scary at high speed.
Good driving keeping that truck under control at that speed
Sounded like something broke or at least POPPED, after you got into high gear. I could hear it on both the cameras inside the truck. Glad you kept it in one piece.🤘🏻
Damn, I rebuilt front ends multiple times for death wobble, ended up being an upper control arm bushing was smoked. Was one of the rebuildable xflex type ones. Good luck and hope this thing is fixed in a jiffy!
I have a Jeep TJ on 35's and experienced a death wobble at around 65. I sucked up the seat cushion. It was a loose control arm bolt. I went through everything and it is good now. I can't imagine a death wobble at 120mph. Holy hell! I was sweating watching that.
We need to see Justin's reaction to the inside go pro footage of all that shake, rattle, and crazy finish to your pass lol ! Love the videos keep up the amazing project!
I was in my 84 f150, not super fast by modern standards, but I had it wound out to about 130mph and the rear end started to sway , hit the sand at my local track, got lucky that time lol, turns out 3 of the leafs snapped on each side. rebuilding soon, glad everything turned out ok for you guys!
Glad your safe man
JH and Justin, y'all rock! Congrats, Erica. I had a Jeep CJ-5 that done the death wobbles, had to jump out, and do some mud removal😂. Peace
The death wobble was bad, but what's more crazy is your big heavy truck beating that mustang. 😆
Soo glad ur ok that could of been very bad
That was crazy, I’m glad your okay 🙏
I went with synergy’s track bar, I’m under your weight by 1000lbs but it’s pretty solid the bracket and bar are powdered
With a death wobble at that speed I would have had to replace the seat from my ass biting a hole in it. WOW! That gave me white knuckle just watching it. Good driving!
Dang that much vibration reminds me of the spacecraft coming back into earths atmosphere on the Hollywood movie screens.
I watched it at the track very impressive expessilly for its first time out
Glad you and yhe truck are ok. Wish we could have seen Justin's(the Justin behind the camera) reaction to the footage.
Vice Grip Garage get this man hooked up.
Had the same thing happen to me in my jeep xj prob about the same speed, on the highway.
Love this style of video
This truck takes me back to when I was a kid. It reminds me of the Fall Guys truck that has a TV series
Dude that shake is so crazy to watch in slow motion.
Got to love that solid axle life. Lol
honestly that was the best reaction for a giveaway call ive seen its funny she had no idea
Get a 98-99 hd front end kit. It’s a T style steering way beefier and pretty easy on the wallet. And maxspeedingrods makes one hell of an adjustable track bar with 4th gen mount conversion for about $250. It will be the smoothest driving second gen front end you’ve ever felt. That factory y style that is on the truck let’s the fronts toe in and out over bumps.
This is usually when everyone starts talking about stabilizers. They only mask and compensate for the real problem. Often it’s worn or loose components but JH commented it’s been checked numerous times. Id say look into checking and changing caster.
I like that Bradenton lets you run sub 11.5 no cage. My duramax was asked to leave multiple tracks for 11.20s and escorted from English town after a 10.5
Strait to the correct tune , then u will think your being launched into outer space!!!! Love your work, good job
carli adjustable track bar! it has Hiem joints instead of rubber bushings. also their ball joints. no more deathwobble😅
Vice grip garage makes brackets for the hood for square body’s that stops the folding. Be nice insurance to have even with the new hinges
Third gen track bar conversion and a steering box brace. Also I noticed the front control arms are pretty steep. Might not be a bad idea to put a set of long arms on it.
I had one that did that and it was a rivet broke on the front crossmember right by the steering sector. It let the frame flex and move the steering sector also cracked the frame behind it. You can turn the steering wheel back and forth and watch the bumper to see if the bumper moves up and down on the drivers side front.
Justin said "DIALED" 36 times during this video.😂
Great video video Justin love ya work.
Any other Volvo fans in here see the 240 wagon pass the drag strip at 33.50 haha
Man I felt that in Chicago!!
Looks like my old Jeep Wrangler days with that Death Wobble
Best SHAKE DOWN ever time to go tighten up some BOLTS 😊😊😊
Guessing your at the limits of caster and those short arms in the front. Traction and power created the perfect storm for what could have been horrible. Nice work keeping it out of the wall
That was my 06 3500 before i did my ball joints lol. Great filling
I took a drink every time he said "DIALED"....made it 2 min into the video and blacked out....
I would suggest doing long arms on the front suspension as well as the track bar. I have a 2nd gen on 40s with no death wobble.
I just noticed the speedo and tach aren't working. A fellow Michigander won the giveaway truck, congratulations
The inside few had me laughing !!!
Top 5 favorite build on RUclips 👌
You haven't spent much time looking at builds on RUclips lmao there are lots of builds like this with MUCH cleaner trucks
That death wobble is one hell of a ride man been there a few times. Nice save though.
Love the content brother
Love the break in period
I hate to be that guy but that death wobble made me instantly think, bro get a cage on that thing.
Now that’s a shake down pass respect ❤🤘🏻👌🏻👊🏻🇬🇧
