A buddy and I have these cars, I have the ST Mk3 tuned with the OTS Cobb Stage 1 map. I run an exhaust and bigger intake enclosure. We stay pretty even in acceleration from a Roll and when it comes to twisties, the ST takes more effort to go fast but its rewarding whereas the RS is more confidence inspiring. The RS definitely is faster in B-Roads and easier to get into and get the most out of the platform, yet the the Focus ST is more comfy and liveable day to day. Neither are better or worse, they just do other things better.
I had both and st is a brilliant car loved it the rs is in so controlled and sticks like glue, power wise not a lot in it,the biggest thing is a rs will have a much better chance of holding its value while a st prices full alot.
I daily my RS and the ride is quite harsh. In the corners you can carry so much speed its easy to scare yourself, the back end can be abit lively but its always controlable. Out of corners and in lower gears its a beast and can give alot of the bigger more high powered stuff abit of a shock but it suffers top end and the bigger stuff you just shocked starts to catch back up. Its super heavy on fuel and the parts arent cheap. Also I always heard that fords rust and just thought it was a long standing joke but no its true they do rust and need abit of extra care. Mine was from Scotland so maybe it was the coast air but it was pretty bad. A great drivers car being a manual but it can be frustrating seeing a DSG golf R shifting from lights. Overall I absolutely love it and to me personally it was worth the money. They look amazing, sound and drive even better but they do need alot of care.
I’ve got one of each except the st is the diesel as the daily. Much comfier and refined for long journeys. RS not really suited to daily driving at 22mpg average but great fun and can match anything on b roads
Don't go on a track steering around corners with one hand on top of the wheel 😒 Good comparison though, but should take them around lots of twisty roads (and steer properly).
Ecoboom is the 1L engine made by FORD. If you service them and warm up and dont lugengine these cars are great although the RS does have the weaker engine on the ST.
if you cant even controll a car with one hand on the shifter and one on the wheel you shouldn't be driving at all, I can tell that you probably drive under the speed limit judging by the fact that you comment on the "one hand on the steering wheel" like come on man... its easy to drive like that🤣

If I could get good deal on rs should I go with that ? Or stick with the st?

Very fair review , looking at an ST very soon .
This kind of sold me. Idk why but I feel like I really seen actual speed with every clip. Im sold on the RS

Your driving would fail a driving test ..one hand on the wheel driving ..not good
