  • I'm testing out a common DIY method of vintage fading a T-shirt at home using bleach (so you dont have to)! Whether you're looking for a light fade to an extreme vintage worn effect this method can definitely get you there. I show you the honest results after each wash and I wash the T-Shirt a total of 4 times for an EXTREME vintage fade.
    You can get a good idea of how many times you will need to wash your Tshirt to achieve the look you want using this method, I've done the hard work for you!

    I’m doing the outfit of what you’re doing how do you make the old shirt look new? How did you?

    It's so cool. I'm going to try it. Do you only do laundry for an hour and a half? Does it include rinsing and dehydration?

      Depends how long your wash cycle is! It will take longer if you dry in between washes ❤

    Looks great! What's your drying method?

      @shopwithmeaustralia  Год назад +1

      I don't have a dryer so was drying it with a hair-dryer In-between to speed up the process 😆 but I would say a dryer would work best but air drying is fine too. ❤

    could you do this with multiple at once or would you have to do it separately?

    • @shopwithmeaustralia
      @shopwithmeaustralia  Год назад +1

      I didn't test that but imagine you could do it with multiple shirts you'd just need to use a large bucket or something 😊

    5:02 i was about to try this but a little confused about wym by "agitate" in this sense?

      BEST method ive seen after hours of watching different videos and reading articles/forums.

      Hey @shmunky wunky! When I say agitate just mean swirl it around a bit, keep it moving while it's in the bowl, it just helps distribute the bleach evenly while still giving it some good direct contact with the bleach mix. If you let it sit without swirling might get a bit patchy ❤️❤️

    I have a load of t-shirts that I don't wear because they just look too new. I'm hoping to fade them instead of having to go out and buy new stuff. I'm worried though, does this shrink the shirt? i'm assuming the comparison at 6:46 was done on the same day, just with the different sized shirts. but how did the size of the faded shirt compare to its size before fading it? I know this video is a year old but I'm just commenting in case anyone can help

    • @shopwithmeaustralia
      @shopwithmeaustralia  3 месяца назад +1

      Hey @ericaheap the comparison is indeed with two shirts of different sizes, the shirt I faded shrunk a little bit I think but not a heap but it will also obviously depend on the fabric blend of the shirts. If you have a few shirts you want to do this with I'd reccomend just trying it out with one first (the one you love the least lol) and see how it goes before doing the rest. ❤

    Waste of water. How about you EARN the wear on your shirts and jeans? I have a couple shirts I've owned since 12th grade that I've worn to work for years.
