Tesla dashcam unavailable check usb drive temporary fix! (2022)

Unfortunately the tesla dashcam is sometimes unrecognizable. After chatting with the Tesla team, they advised me the fix would be addressed over a software update. Unfortunately we have to wait!
I did find a temporary solution that is working for me.
Directions:
1. Unplug usb drive located in the glove box.
2. Plug usb drive back in after 15-30 seconds
3. Repeat if it doesn’t work the first time. It usually works after 1-3 tried
4. Make sure to turn sentry mode back on!

My Model 3 2018 Tesla doesn’t seem to have the USB in the storage place, any clue on where it could be?

Work to get the USB back online but after you turn on sentry and walk away it will be offline again when you come back to the car. Records a notification about events but doesn't save any clip.

​@@cheesun124have you made sure your car is fully updated? Ran a full restart on it? I had a lot of issues in the beginning when I got my Tesla and after a factory reset all my issues went away and never came back.

This was a tesla error. It should be fixed now. Are you still getting the same error? Reach out to Tesla on the app.

Didn't work for me but reformatting it worked like a charm but even than I have to reformat it 2 or 3 times

I had to reformat it a few times in the past but after some time I learned to wait a few hours before unplugging the usb drive.
Tesla needs to make this a high priority fix!
