Hi, Qofy! That instrument is the Korean traditional instrument call ‘GaYaGum’ & the instrument that next to is another Korean instrument call ‘A-Jaeng’. Unlike Chinese traditional music which based on 5 scales, Korean traditional music is based on 12 scales, which sounds different from western 12 scales (7 full scales + 5 half scales). So if you listen carefully, you will find this song sounds bit different then normal mordern Korean song because this song which uses a lot of Korean traditional instruments, is built based on those Korean traditional 12 musical scales mixed with western musical scales.(FYI: BTS song ‘Idol’ is built in same way as well!) SoHyang loves to add Korean traditional instruments into her music arrangements & she does it so beautifully & brilliantly. I think what she does by adding these instruments, bringing emotional depth to those songs.
