After this performance Michael Bolton called So Hyang a "virtuoso" and took her on tour throughout South Korea with him. She is almost a supernatural musical experience. All less than 5' 4" and maybe 100 pounds soaking wet of her! She is more than a musical bomb-shell--she's a thermo-nuclear musical explosion!
Fun fact : Immortal Songs is a singing tv show for artists and each episode they have a different theme and for this particular episode, the theme was Michael Bolton. It was Sohyang's first appearance on the show and she was actually invited by the show producers SPECIFICALLY to impress Michael Bolton who was present. It wasn't rigged per se but it was clear Sohyang was going to win, which was exactly the reason why they invited her. Anyway, Michael Bolton called her a virtuoso, invited her on his upcoming tour in south korea where Sohyang hit a glorious mixed C6 belt note in one of the performances. She's craaaazy!!!
"elite level singing" spot on. Sohyang is one of the best female vocalists on the planet, that will always surprise and shock you by doing the unexpected. She is an absolute powerhouse who can sing any genre. She does all the arrangements herself together with her team. "That note" was a Bb5, her signature note. Love your reactions. Keep on going with Sohyang, as she has so many more performances that will surprise and blow your mind.
So Hyang is one of my new favorite singers who I found in 2020. She's a cancer survivor, and she doesn't sing for fame, fortune or a record deal, because she's turned down a few. She sings to lift people up and make them feel better. And she sings for a greater purpose, and a higher power. You've reacted to a lot of her older videos, and You Raise Me Up and Bridge Over Troubled Water are two other classics if you haven't seen them yet. It's tricky sometimes because a lot of her videos either get blocked, or you can only find an audio version, or even sometimes you might only find it on a reaction video.
To answer your question, she does like to come up with her own arrangements, and she's been quoted as saying that she's inspired by God on how to interpret each song.

This was Immortal Songs 2 which is a contest for celebrities. This one was the Micheal Bolton Special, which is why he was in the audience. Not only did she win this but he invited her to go on tour with him and while she turned down the whole tour she sang with him a few times in South Korea.
Michael Bolton saw this performance and called it "virtuoso performance" and invited her to his concert in Korea for a duet. and they sung "prayer" & "lean on me"
PS. This stage was won the 'Best TV show award' at the Banff International Media Festival.
So-hyang hits those insane high notes and just keeps going like it's absolutely nothing to her xD She leaves us feeling exhausted FOR her (in the most awesome way, of course), while she's just like "I could keep going forever but I guess the song's gotta end sometime" xD She's such a brilliant singer (not just the belting and the high notes, but everything), a fantastic story-teller and her arrangements are incredible. She's out of this world!
A fortunate for the other contestants that she was the last performer that day, so they didn't have to watch her before them, BUT also an unfortunate for them because they realized it was Sohyang, and she was going to hit them hard, very hard. The result? She won, of course.

Well that note was there on a piano, it’s an A#5 (the main note), and the other note that she would go up from that A#5 and down a couple of times was a C6.....

This is a competition. She won this one. The singers are all invited to compete. The usually all sing one song from a famous singer. In this case it was Michael Bolton. Sadly, some of the others she should have won but the winners are decided by the votes of the audience. And they are sometimes biased toward their favorite singer.

NO man ...she aint good -----she is the BEST VOCALIST in the world today without any doubt. The talent in ASIA is amazing. Can I suggest that you react to 4 sisters from the Philippines called 4th Impact. These 4 sisters have amazing harmonies that will blow your mind. these 4 sisters even did a LIVE cover of Bohemian Rhapsody ( Queen), a mostly acappella version of Imagine ( john lennon), an amazing cover of I'll be there ( Jackson 5), and covers of "this is me" & " Never enough" from the movie the greatest showman. They wont disappoint you

Beyoncé? Really? Sohyang does all of these arrangements - music, chorus, orchestra, and staging. Comparisons are useless. There is no one like Sohyang. Her pitch is flawless. If she slides up or down to a note, Blues or Gospel style, she hits it. It is always intentional.
If your need for musical equilibrium compels you to do it, you can go looking for things to pick at her about or compare her to, but you won't find them. . . .
