  • Health anxiety, also known as illness anxiety disorder or hypochondriasis, is a condition in which a person experiences excessive worry and fear about their health. It can manifest as a preoccupation with symptoms or a fear of developing a serious illness, even in the absence of any medical evidence to support such concerns.
Taking action on health anxiety is important because it can significantly affect a person's quality of life, causing distress, disruption of daily activities, and unnecessary healthcare utilization. Furthermore, if left untreated, health anxiety may lead to the development of other mental health conditions such as depression and may even worsen physical health outcomes due to excessive worry and stress.

I feel like I went through the learning stages in health anxiety where it was pure hell and suffering, but then I eventually learned and then quit going to e.r. and quit googling symptoms and illnesses and quit acting like a victim and started facing these irrational fears, and started ignoring the symptoms, and slowly but surely the symptoms started to fade. We can all get our lives back if we keep working on it and learning, and not repeating the same mistakes over and over. 😊

That's what im doing if i feel that fear or pain tingles i just put back of my head and continue on with my day and it auctally helps tbh im still not out of the woods yet but its slowly but hopefully surely it will go away but another bad one is if your tired lack of sleep can make it worse

It’s crazy how one tiny symptom can spiral into panic. I woke up at 3 am feeling anxious and then it felt like my foot was tingly and then I got a headache and I’ve been scared I’m going to get sick for the last 4 hours. I feel my depression getting worse again which makes my body feel bad which then gives me anxiety and panic attacks. To the point I cant even sit down no matter how exhausted I am. I need freedom from this anxiety monster

Which one the symptoms or anxiety? I did his 'health anxiety program that is based more for people who chase symptoms and or have panic attacks
... I would go to the Dr for Every symptoms. So that program helped me lot with panic attacks and to STOP googling.... and that symptom would stop and I would get another and another... so I cut imagine if I was still would focus on each symptom. The bottom line is that your b ody has symptoms and or sensations and I learned 'that's ok' so then now I started his general anxiety but still half way through.... that program in general is SO good !!! So much value ..... I just had to stop for a move .... but I need to continue.

People posting they had a headache for a few days & it was actually a brain aneurysm. My brain thinks “better safe than sorry”. I go to the doctor over minor shit often bc you never know.

Hi. I don't know if this helps at all, but my mom passed away recently and my body has been going haywire. LOTS of new pains, issues, and a worsening of existing problems. My doctor explained to me that grief takes a very heavy toll on the body, and it is not unusual for these things to happen in the first year of grieving as you learn to adapt to the new life without your loved one. They will pass, and you will learn to go through life with less physical and emotional pain. I'm going through the same thing as you. Hang in there. I'm sorry for your loss. The symptoms of your body won't last forever. Do what you can to relax and take care of yourself.
