I have a pair of these and they are great. I wear them more than most of my other super high end Alden/Viberg/Whites/Crockett&Jones etc pairs. The toe box looks crazy round and bulbous looking down at your feet, but from other people's perspectives they look fine. This super rounded toe box makes them way comfortable. Heal gets locked in and toes move freely...the way God intended.
Teik, I'm still continuing my study of "bootlosophy". I am writing a comment to both you and Carl Murawski to ask for a review of Jim Green's' top of the line Numzaan Boot? You each bring something totally different and entertaining to the table. I'd like to learn your viewpoints. Thank you.
perfect sneaker/boot combo. Look great IMO. Love the rough look of them. I Have a pair in Dark brown and Just ordered my 2nd pair in crazy horse. My feet are long but not very fat so I replace the insoles with a thick foam insole and it does a great job at filling in some space and adding comfort.
I like Jim Green a lot. I have the same leather of their Rambler Vellie and it’s great for throwing on for weekend yard work or running around town. They darken quite a bit and I think they look even better now.
I'm glad to see another video on the rangers! I have a pair in black that I've worn for about a month now and they are my favorite pair of boots. Durable but as light as a sneaker!
The tongue reminds me of elephant ears 🐘 I have a pair of JG razorback with Tyre soles and I just ordered a pair of their barefoot African Ranger boots that they just released in black nubuck 👍
Thank you for your video! I am currently choosing between this African Ranger and the Razorback for long walks/ hikes around Sydney. This one certainly looks more durable and nicer than the Razorback model to me. Looking forward to your next video to see how these rangers actually fare
I've had a pair since February, I love them. I replaced the insole with one made of memory foam, and I have no problems wearing these boots at my job site for 9+ hours a day.
I'm in USA, Ohio you'll like this sole better for grip, and as he says it will not collect anything in the sole because of the sole design. Even where I am due to the weather, they've very comfortable and remind me of my Red Wing 875's. Basically for an urban environment these would work better. If you plan on using them in the muck, or need the extra traction go Razorback. Oh heck, just by both! I have the Superfeet Green insole in mine. I've used them for work around the yard, and wore them around town. I just use a horse hair brush to clean them.
Nice review. Quick question, are you participating in the upcoming patina thunderdome, and will you give out your handle on your channel so followers can check your progress?
I have a pair of the Jim Green Rambler Vellies, I really do like them. 😀 One improvement is needed however ... a new, more comfortable, insole/insert with a good arch support.
@@Bootlosophy - I am OK with my regular size of 11-1/2 because of the wide toe box, but I replaced the insole with a better one. I put the Dr. Scholl's 'WORK' insoles in them ... much better. Think I'll also get a pair Dr. Scholl's 'Plantar Fasciitis' insoles and try them for comparison, they are supposed to have a deeper heel cup. 😀
About the toe cap, Jim Green Footwear channel have a video on how they made this boot and it can be seen that it's just one layer of leather on the toes that is sewn and the toe stiffener below, nothing else, no other leather layer under that. So I don't think that the toebox have two layers of leather, no way.
Following up for anybody reading this later: Yeah. 8.5 US was right for me in African Rangers. I wear an 8.5 US in Clarks and a 9 in Nike and Adidas running shoes.
i like them but the green laces would have to be switched out. cant do the green. i will definitely be buying work boots from this company knowing they are treating their employees right.
hello, yes, very much so. these are good value because if the exchange rate. high quality materials...handmade. did you decide to purchase? i have the barefoot version.
I have their Velle boot. Good construction and value, but the ugliest shoe I’ve ever owned- it looks like a clown shoe because of its duck-bill shape. The tongue also digs into my foot, which has not improved with time. I recommend buying only if you have a wide foot, such as US E-width.
Really loved this, some good South African Refences. Thanks for the support and kind words

I have a pair of African Rangers in crazy horse and love them. Some of the most comfortable boots I own.

You got the suede or smooth leather boots
Eyeing up a pair of Jim Greens to wear daily to work, as well as odd jobs around home. They seem like the perfect combination of price and quality 👌
Man I love Jim Green boots 🥾👌😎👉❤️👍great review!
I want these NOW !! I'm obsessed
This is a very thoughtful and helpful review. Articulate, comprehensive and insightful. A+

Receive mine today. I can't believe the quality that comes from this company. No break in...
Great review. I have a pair of Jim Green Vellies in Chestnut (thank you Rose Anvil) and I couldn't be happier with them.
they will flex and contour to your foot - very comfortable with and without 'mohair' socks
I love mine. They make a perfect rural law enforcement boot.
Pls do a review on the Blundstone and Redback

FANTASTIC TEIK!!!! glad to see you rocking some Jim Green!!!!

@@1976smb Got the best of both worlds with the Razorback in the wedged sole.
@1976smb, how are they on ice and snow?
Interesting boot Teik....I look forward to your further reviews on this one as you get more time with them.
Good video. This was the first I’ve heard about them. Look forwarding to seeing more as they age
Thanks for, as always, a very detailed and quality review. All reviewers should take a lesson from you!
Great video! I want a pair of these myself so glad I caught your review and you gained another subscriber! 😊
I have a few different pairs of Jim Green boots and use them outdoors on rough terrain a lot. I can recommend all of them.
Nice boots , i liked the design it fits my choice of shoes
I suggest you also try Courteney boots from Zimbabwe
I got the barefoot version, they are definitely rough on the ankle skin at first, I used the size chart on jim green site and boots fit fine
Nice review.

Yeah, I’m noticing that. I’m thinking that people should go a half size up, take the insole out, and put in a new one. What do you think?

Love the review! You’re my favorite RUclipsr. What watch are you wearing?
I can’t remember but I think it was a Seiko
Great Video. What about the other leather it's made in. The Brown Leather.
Ahhh, if I could afford every model of every boot, I’d be a happy man. Care to donate a pair? 😂😂😂
I have a pair in the same color..great show but it took most of the summer to break them in
My big toe also gets sore on my Ranger boot. Will this get better or is there a way of stretching the leather
Nice boots and nice knife. Where did you get it? Also will you do a giveaway in the future?
I always appreciate folks who use a proper pocket knife for opening packages.
@@1976smb Right? Hate seeing a kitchen knife or scissors or keys deployed in this context.

Pretty sure that when Rose Anvil cut them in half it proved it is a double layer, check out his video
Cool boots
What about the Brown Leather?
If I wear a US 8.5 in Clarks Desert Boots, I should go with a 8.5 in these, right?
Pretty much but check with them because your Clark’s desert boot in UK size is a 7.5
@@Bootlosophy Thanks!

It’s been a month sir make a short giving updated thoughts please
Would love to see an update Teik. I’m from Perth and I just ordered these too!
Quick question since I wear 10.5 US I should get the 10? Or should I get a 10.5 Uk because they are true to fit?
That is the size I ordered. They are true to fit.
i like them but the green laces would have to be switched out. cant do the green. i will definitely be buying work boots from this company knowing they are treating their employees right.
any updates after much use?
In a couple of weeks
What is cheap about $179 USD? Are boots usually more expensive?
hello, yes, very much so. these are good value because if the exchange rate. high quality materials...handmade. did you decide to purchase? i have the barefoot version.
I returned my African Ranger because they felt like I was wearing snowshoes. Too wide.
Just returned my pair. I know people said the toebox is wide but they looked like clown shoes.
Comfort is king.

The absolute most uncomfortable thing I've ever put on my feet. Requested a return within 10min of opening the box.
🤣🤣🤷♂️
Every reply I’ve had is either poor fit or great fit - nothing in between!
