That bright yellow/orange solution he soaked the formed pieces in was that color because of hexavalent chromium that's dissolved in the water. It's a byproduct of acid washing the steel (the blue container he poured into a vat was acid, likely hydrochloric) and then re-passivating the steel with an oxidizer. Chromium salts mix into the oxidizer solution and you get highly carcinogenic toxic hexavalent chromium. To see it so carelessly worked with, without safety glasses, is horrific.
I know, it's the India/Pakistan area and the workers have no clue what danger they're in nor can they afford a pair of safety glasses nor do their employers care because they're not required to care. That doesn't make it any less painful to watch. If I weren't struggling to survive because of being disabled myself because of poor workplace safety I'd invest the money to mail those workers a free pair of safety goggles and $5 in their native currency with a note explaining to them why they're important. There's maybe 10 people there, it'd cost maybe $100 total. The world's low valuation of life and health makes me so sad.
