Standard model Old Dutch Guy. I have 2 grandfathers, one father, several uncles who all fit greater or lesser degree in that mold. "You can tell a Dutchman, but you can't tell him much". Stubborn, always right, frustrating to work for sometimes but you always know exactly where you stand which is refreshing.
Storing+tracking tailings and slag is a common practice nowadays. Evolution in technology have consistently made it possible to extract more, and it can be reprocessed for a quick buck. This guy knows what he's doing.
I love how many of these stories we get of rerunning old strips from the 50s because with better gear and better value of gold, you can make bank off the stuff that back then they considered garbage not worth gathering.
Tony reminds me of my grandpa, dutch and no room for shittalk My grandfather died 12 years ago but his vision and way of live ill keep it in me forever
its a shame that other miners don't run their tailings when they run out of pay.. in the seasons i have watched , they have lost so much over the end. my friend grew up in colorado springs colorado.. worked in the gold mines there from 1933 till he was drafted in 43.. one of his jobs was to catch the nuggets going across the top of the carpets. he admitted he only got about 2/3rds of them.. the rest all went into the tailings. so somewhere around colorado springs are tailing piles that might have nuggets in them not just flakes..
@@gzusburrito thank you.. looks like new homes being built on it.. since the ones that got away are not small.. but big enough to wash across the top of the mats.. they should be quite nuggety..
The Homes on Gold Mesa are falling apart because of the lose tailings they were built on I would bet the property owner that built the homes did look into Gold content before having Homes built
Another Gold fined is in the rocks we put on Wildwood Casino Veneer Just look at them as you go in We got all the rocks from the Tailings from the Gold mine a mile away
What he got out of the old tailings is actually more then he figures because he has to take into account what the miners removed back in the old days from the tailings pile.
I think it'd be interesting to pit some of the bosses against each other in some interesting way, with a new excavator as a prize. They might actually be willing to do something like that if it meant a new digger...

Tony is the only reason l watch Gold Rush.He gets the job done, the others like Parker and Rick seem to have everything handled to them to get started. DRAMA QUEENS.
@bocoy noiu I've seen it in a couple of episodes that they sometimes melt their own bars from the gold, but as you I dont know where they sell those as there is no quality control or proof that this thing really is 98+ % Gold
i often wonder if these old people will enjoy their riches or is it only the quest for more that gives them satisfaction, the train never seems to arrive at the destination, they look miserable and wore out and im sure they have enough wealth to give it up
They live a rich and full life and could walk away anytime they wanted and live like kings. A D-10 dozer sells for 2 million, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. They employ 30 people and the whole family, why stop? They spend the winter in Mexico , Arizona , wherever they choose.
You can always tell the the people who live in the inner cities of California. They think the wilderness is "landscaping". Like their private flower garden. When in fact, mother nature tears herself up more in one year than all the miners in the world could do in 100-years. You may as well run along, cry your self-righteous little tears, and let the real workers get some real work done in the real world.
@@lanceleavitt7472 Not only that, but these people do not seem to have any idea how fast nature will reclaim everything when they end their digging operations.
Last week, they didn't show what was happening with Rick Ness and this week they didn't show anything about the Beets family. I don't understand why Discovery is showing so much of greenhorn Fred I don't want to see Fred until he's getting at least 500 ounces of gold!
I seems all the characters in Gold Rush have very salty language, but the Beets take the F****** cake. IMO, it really dimensions the show for me. And the beep does nothing. We all know what was said, so what's the beeping point in the beep? If "they" really wanted to eliminate the cussing, "they" have to edit out the entire sentence that a cuss word was used in. If done, the characters would stop it.
Tony is savvy miner and businessman. But Parker seems to be brilliant as well especially for his age. Tons of respect

Listening to Mr. and Mrs. Beets bust chops is great.
Tony should have his own show, he's the best.
Tony B's Gold Rush ... Big nuggets & Big Problems

I met Tony once. I wouldn’t want him as my boss but would love to have him as a friend.
I think he would be a great boss . You would know exactly were you stood with him . I can also swear back at him in Dutch . 🙂
Did he have a translator so you knew what he was saying?😄 Like has the subtitles on the show😆
