That pit is the coolest thing Parker's Trail has covered yet, its unbelievable until you see it yourself
What is tis season?
is it not cool in person?
I can’t begin to imagine the look on parkers grandfather’s face! He would be so proud to see how far Parker has come
Parker’s grampa would not believe this! Great job Parker!
Parker seemed almost depressed by how much rock is moved there. But he knows there’s a difference. I can’t wait for Parker to start a claim down under
"Ya better take cover"
He's been searching forever, I thought he struck a deal on a claim down there already? Why is he still looking?
@@Rizzbulla this is old footage
@@TheSirTomo
Thanks for the info
He won’t get a look in in Australia coz he is to small
I like how there's a "camera man" as well as a camera man that films the "camera man."
Let's be honest tho ,the camera dude being recorded by the camera dude has the coolest personality out of all them
is one a Discovery channel one and the other is Parker's guy?
@@ianmontgomery7534 they use GoPro's to film the camera guy...... the camera guy we see in the show has a GoPro mounted to his camera that is facing himself and when they ride in the cars, they put a GoPro on the seat in front of him to film him..... it' only one camera guy working multiple cameras and angles.
Heaps weird how a massive show with a mega budget has more than one camera
@@ToxicMrSmith yeah but they don't usually show cameramen in action when they do.
I was in Kalgoorlie on a geophysical survey last week, right now I'm spending my weekend processing the final data for the client
I get the feeling that when Parker says "lets go check out this super pit" that he thinks it's just BS name.
I visited the pit 3 years ago, the piles of excavated timber that shored up all the hundreds of tunnels dugout by the old timers was impressive in itself. No trees for hundreds of kilometers, all the timber hauled in from the South West of the state 700 km away at least.
I'd imagine those days you hoped for a heavier cart to bring home than you brought out.
Nice perspective! This video blew my mind.
Plenty of local timber was used by the old timers , nothing tougher than local silver gimlet for instance. Early days there were several local bush rail lines known as “ woodlines” horse and cart and later trains would bring timber in from the surrounding bush to fuel the condensers to make fresh water before the pipeline form Perth was commissioned. They bought timber in for the mines also. Grew up in kalg and spent a lot of time in the bush. Them old underground workings were all still being worked in the 80’s when the superpit was a scattering of smaller pits and owned by two different companies.
Amazing.. large operation.. wish we could have seen more of it..
That's my home town, can remember when that pit wasn't there, Hahahah!!
Thank you for posting this @Discovery Australia
That is just totally awesome to see. Just wow. Car hop trays from amazon.
Dream big Parker, I wish you all the success.
Can't wait to be there, hopefully soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😍😍😍😍
Discovery Australia AKA The Danny Etheridge cameraman show!
Parker has never seen something like that in his entire whole life.
Amazing!!! I mean AMAZING‼️
Parker's trail is the only gold rush that is hard to find online.
Parker guest of gold honor!
Parker: Right boys, we're upgrading slucifer!
Sorry, Parker. The super pit isn’t an available claim.
INCREDIBLE THE PIT!!!!!
Holy schnikies. I feel so..... insignificant.
THAT is incredible.
Looks like a massive open pit quarry.I used to these things as I formerly worked in a quarry..used to see blasting, loading and hauling process all the way to the crushing plant. But this is extremely insane way to mine a billion dollars of gold..Greetings from Malaysia.
Same premise but it's size is just massive, pretty sure the pit is close to the volume of Sydney harbour
@@davidhobbs5679 its extremely enermous..i like it..everything's inside there, the Komatsu front shovel and the Cat offroad trucks were like dinosaurs of the mine
That is the same explosives that leveled the Lebanese port. The Oklahoma Federal building was also the same fuel.
I like to see the size of the tailings pile, its probably snow capped
True story the older tailings piles around Kalgoorlie that were processed using older less efficient gold extraction methods still hold economic gold grades and are worth reprocessing when the gold price is right.
So very cool. Go Parker!
I worked on the construction of the prison in kalgoolie one day we were sitting out the back of the hostel we were living in and the ground and building started to shack I nearly crapped myself I thought it was an earthquake it turned out that they were blasting under us , apparently the had to move the town over a few times because the mine keeps growing and they just dig under and then back fill
I’ve worked at Kalgoorlie & this put is huge!
Very nice video
Kalgoorlie is epic!
@ 6:19 what a wicket view for a few seconds, looks scary though I would be afraid to do this job the heights.
In 10 years time this is what Parkers operation will look like while TB is sat in his Rocking chair watching Gold Rush season 50......😎
The innuendo is gold in itself
I'm going to smell your scalp and gums
Ahhh Kalgoorlie.... I am typing this comment working on a smelter just a few kilometers away from the Super Pit.
Parker hit the BIG TIME IN DOWN UNDER IRISH SCOTS LAND OF ABORIGINES! Love Aussie gold!!!!!!
Welcome to down under Parker! We do things big here
Paddy Hannan is my great great uncle he came from canny Clare in northern Ireland and came to Australia 1860.s and came to kalgoorlie to mine gold and now it's biggest world's producer of gold
The main street is named after him in Kalgoorlie. Hannan street.
@@michellerae328 yes he was a prospector and that why he put kalgoorlie on the map and now that's we get our world's producing of gold being mined by kalgoorlie gold mining company and maybe you could set the super pit yourself too and take photo of my great great uncle Patrick Hannan too
@@nathanroberts355 His statue is on the corner near the town hall, kalgoorlie Boulder is my home town.
@@michellerae328 has the town changed much in 20 years Michelle? I worked and lived their in 2002 for a couple years and I lived and worked in Kambalda at st Ives also. Exchange hotel still their
@@bush600r2 Hahah funny you asked that just come back from there today. Exchange is still there pump'n everynight ! place hasn't changed much but hey mate & Kal & Kambalda will never change still the same, St Ives is still going. 👍
You know it's crazy when the cameramen break their vow of silence.
I want to see more about the mill!
Wow that is epic Man
Parker- "see you guys on the flip side." he's so hip
Wow a genuine earth shattering kaboom
I swear I thought this was Adam Driver from the thumbnail
I've worked there. It's a pretty cool place.
Really hoping he visited gold bar after this blast. Refreshing beverage is crucial.
Can’t wait mr Parker
The little literally is part of the town....you feel mink quakes every now and then from the blasts
I've got a feeling he will be!
Oh, there she is. I’ll watch now.
Parker has never seen the oil sands still lol
18 million dollar excavator, thats crazy how big it is.
800 ton , runs 2 x 60 litre quad turbo V16 Cummins engines
Need to get Parker hooked up with Paul Huet on some of the Karora Resources $KRR Kalgoorlie properties, lots of bonanza grade out there, would make a great show!
Wow, how does that compare to the open pit near Miami/Bisbee, AZ?
lol, as a comparison, Bisbee is a dimple on a golf ball the Super Pit is the rest of the Golf Ball.
He is like super pit with sarcasm then sees it and just drops his jaw
I won't lie was thinking Parker was dreaming a bit there lol he wants apart of that scale of mining you best hope you have billions
Proud to work here
welcome to Australia
How did this Parker become such an expert?
He’s not that’s why he keeps asking questions and learning.
What season is this?
I wanted to know what he thought about the safety.
There’s gold in them thar hills! 🤑
I seen that equipment used in the iron/steel integrated mills of Detroit Wayne County Michigan USA.
Parker sounds like Hiccup (how to train your dragon) 🐉😊
cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2:10 First step - Blasting... wrooonngg! First step drilling, although they’re tied together they’re a different process. Drill, blast, extract, process.
@My Name? One would think removal of over burden would be a thing? Then ground prep for the drill to safely drill on level ground, along with the "extension" cord to run the drill from the Gen-Set. Minnesota Iron Ranger here.
@@ducewags former WA miner here, generally ground prep is completed during extraction process to set the pad for the drill rigs, all rigs over here are mobile with Atlas Copco D65 or Pantera DP1500s generally the go to so no need for a genny. The blast will usually be sufficient for pad level if the blast engineer has calculated bore depths right.
@@adamf894 I have no clue where WA is or what your ground is like, or what your mining. Is that Washington State? or West Australia?
@@ducewags yea mate, Western Australia. Gold, iron ore, lithium etc. I’ve actually worked at this pit before.
@@ducewags Western Australia,
Wow @ that excavator
this neeeds to be on netflix

That seems cool as f*** to visit
Que suerte tiene
Go Kalgoorlie...
cool.
It is interesting that they don't use a conveyor, or bucket chain to move material to the surface of such a large pit.
50t scoops, 250t trucks and miles of road to get out of the pit. A single breakdown in a conveyor would halt the system, a broken truck is pulled out and the rest keep going
Should rename this , Alaskan Spoiled Brat !!
Me who lives in Kalgoorlie: cool
me who used to live in kalgoorlie and work in the superpit: cool
You should go see the giant iron ore mines of mt Tom priceiron ore mine and mt whale back minesite and telfer Patterson range gold mine and comet underground mine in marble bar
You could also go to see the giant “Broken Hill” iron ore operation , , , but yr can’t anymore cause BHP broke the whole hill down and sold it for fridges, washing machines, cars, bridges, anything made of steel.
anyone recognize the road from a top gear episode where they race up it?
Nope, that was an iron ore mine in the Northern Territory
I hope Parker got to see the automated haul packs.
Anyone else think the thumbnail looks like Adam Driver?
Does he make more mining gold or from being in a TV show?
tv show for sure
this is where top gear raced the bentley, bmw and gtr right? looks hella familiar
No mention of their profit margins. That's quite the operation.
Also what is adam driver doing in aus
Maybe he's filming "Tracks 2".
I want to work in there
Makes you wonder why they bother with the klondike
We are wearing HEADPHONES, turn down Your NOISE Censor!
actually the noice needs normalizing during post. its not the gain during recording.
I have exactly predicted Parker would wish to own such mining giant one day. He did it.
i am also here
I like that there is signs saying no drones but hey I suppose when u have money you can do want you want
Where is Parker now?
This is no longer Gold Rush this is PARKERS SHOW
there is no way this guy is not related to Kylo
Wooo
Why cant we see this on Normal DIscovery? Missing Parker on Gold Rush
Just imagine that pit filled with water in a couple of years
Think Big~!!!!!! ;-)-
When’s gold rush alaska new season starting
Isn't it amazing how big and efficient the project can be when funcded by the CHN gov?!
will the tv show that the government keeps 30%?
