Thank you for this swatch test! The thing that intrigued me the most about this brand is their claim of "no more splotchy images" - I always found the Hero Arts ink pads to be splotchy, even though a certain someone that promotes them claims that the splotchyness goes away after a minute (it does not). The real test will be with their lightest colors, as lighter colors are much harder to get a good even impression with solid image stamps as compared to very pigmented darker colors. I think the little area on your stamp that left a few white dots was from uneven pressure when you were stamping with your left hand. These remind me of chalk inks, they are very pretty.

Thanks for the comparison. I've got the full set of Ranger inks too but those Catherine Pooler ones look great... really like the shape of the ink pads as well!

Do you think the Catherine Pooler ink colors match the lid colors? The green didn't seem to be a good match. Don't get me wrong it's a great, but in general they seem a slight bit darker.

Hi Natasha, just happened across this video as I am considering investing in some CP ink pads. I was really impressed with them - but I notice that you no longer seem to use them. Any reasons for this? I would appreciate some pros and cons, your experiences with them. Thank you - as always - for you amazing videos and inspiration. Kind regards from Nicola in Germany

It's a shame that Natasha never answered this question, 'cause I would be interested as well. I asked at CP if they know if one of their european retailers will be at Creativa next week (because they only have a single retailer in Germany, 500 km apart from me), but the answer was... weird...

@@syleigen Hi Sylvia, just wanted to let you know that I have been using the CP inks for a while now and I am absolutely convinced! For me they beat a lot of the competition (I tried Memento and Distress - which I now mainly use the reinker for watercolouring - and a few others). Make sure you get the reeinkers if you want to do any direct to paper techniques (e.g. creating your own coloured cardstock etc.). You can get them in the EU (without extra customs duty costs and free of postage if your order is over 75 (I think) Euros) from Card Noveau i nBelgium - brilliant shop!

Very good comparison, I have all the inks except the umbrella one, where is that from Natasha, not that I need any more ink pads. My go to is the Distress Oxides but CPs are so juicy and fun. Tfs

Oh this is such an old video Bonnie! I think scrapbook.com used to sell the umbrella crafts inks. I think that they have been long discontinued. I can't even remember what the results were in this video! That's how long it's been, but i do like the Umbrella Crafts inks, I still have a couple left. But catherine Pooler inks are fantastic. I love them too

Have you compared catherine pooler with stampin up? Especially new stampin up pads? Where do you buy your neenah cardstock?

    • @NatashaFooteCreative

Hiya, I actually haven't gotten into the stampin up products at all. Stampin up products are very expensive here in NZ, and I feel I have my ink needs well covered with the other brands I use I guess. I've seen plenty of people use them though, and they look good.

Check Amazon for a product called “The Absorber”. Just like the Lawn Fawn’s “Stamp Shammy”, its a synthetic drying chamois. Cost is about the same, but The Absorber measures 27” x 17” compared to Lawn Fawn’s 5x7. Same color too:)

Thank you for your review. I appreciate you stamping each for demo. Just a few points and please take this lightly. You video is too long. Make it fast, in focus and on point. The stamp was new and not ready to stamp the first time, so not a good test until it became used over the process. All stamps need to be tempered. Erase the top of the stamp and it will give a good impression the first time OR use Versa Mark and stamp repeatedly and it will "treat" the image. Then it would be ready to use. The review itself, did not compare the color to the actual color on the lid; compared the ink type to another brand in constancy, smoothness, and how fast it dries; accurate fine line images; shading or blending with the inks compared to your experience or other inks.

Hero arts are blotchy in my opinion no matter what type of card stock is used, no matter if the stamp is used, red rubber or clear. I think you did a great comparison and if people think the video is too long they can always fast forward. You can’t please everyone.

Your video was just fine Natasha! I thought it was on point and informative. I think Catherine's inks are very good, and you captured that superiority. I'm not sure what video Beverly was watching as your stamp was not "new" and had been tempered. You actually mentioned that it was "stained" with ink, having used it prior to recording the video! I think the reason for the uneven area in the top right of the stamped image was that you were using your left hand, while replacing the ink pad lids with your right, and therefore getting less pressure in that area. The camera did wobble a bit but, as you said, it was early day in your RUclips videos. You are one of my favourite 'RUclipsrs', and all your videos (even the wobbly camera ones) are very informative. You deserve your success!! 😊

I find it rather nasty that people are so quick to pick out the negative stuff. You had a lot of great info. If you want your camera to shake, dance, twirl... you go for it girl! It's your video. If she is so concerned with your video and stamping skills why doesn't she have her own channel. I really like watching your videos. You are very down to earth and I LOVE listening to you talk. Your accent is great. I am from Canada so to watch videos and learn from someone across the earth is really cool. Most channels are people who live in the US, which is great but I find that getting in some of the product from the States is so incredibly expensive. There are very few craft companies here in Canada. I have watched a lot of your videos and they are excellent. Yes, you have improved a lot and also the video was great.I love your free hand doodling and lines that you do on your cards. I dont think I could attempt that because I would mess it up somehow. I love the whimsical look of those types of cards.I have the full CP Spa Collection but I am waiting for the Party collection to arrive in a day. I managed to get the full collection (minus a few colours that I didn't want) at 30 percent off. I cannot believe my luck. These are premium inks and they are absolutely wonderful, CP herself really doesn't ever put them up for sale. So I got very lucky. Canada is so close to the US but the shipping and duties are so HIGH. I appreciate the time you took to show the colours as you were featuring colours that arrive in a day. SO EXCITED!!! I do have lime Ricky and it is a solid green colour. I know that you have expanded your line of CP inks but I just want to reassure you that you are doing so well and your content is great. Keep up the good work. We can all use a little cheering on from others right now as COVID is devastating. Positive comments only!!!! :)
