Now, i'm back to see one of your older clip, 3060 ti vs 1080 ti. 3060 ti outperform 1080 ti in 4k in every game with lower power consumption. So 4060 ti is overpriced and too weak 👎

I bet your 2080 ti won't have the same fps as shown on the video. He tested it with I9-13900K so I am pretty sure the fps is much worse than shown on the video.

5 years and two gens later 2080 Ti still very relevant. Impressive. If you can accept below Ultra you'd be cracking 60fps on these games easy. Even at 1440p.
Why is everybody focused on how good the 2080 Ti holds up, rather than asking the more obvious question, why a significantly newer and more expensive card, performs worse!

ehh 2080ti still has dlss, shouldnt buy either card for 4k 120hz neither will be able to hit 120fps in 4k plus both have display port and most people dont play on tvs they play on monitors which have display port. powerdraw doesnt matter an extra 100 watts an hour if you played 2 hours a day for an entire month is about 1-2 cents extra by me so maybe a few dollars a month where you wouldn't notice. thats at 10 cents a kwh even at 50 cents a kwh you wouldnt notice the 5 cents per hour being used. for 2 hours of gaming a day. when upgrading never side grade unless you have to because you can afford better and a new game just wont physically run on a new game ex alan wake 2 not running on a card without mesh shaders but 2080ti has meshshaders and thats going to be the new standard so it should not be a problem.

@DR-cl5jm huh? it has the same power draw as a 3090 around 340-360 watts thats bad power consumption. a rx 6800xt undervolted or a rtx 4070 do the trick
bottom line is the 4060ti is producing the same fps and gaming experience of a 2080ti while running 110w on avg less , with over 1000mhz faster clock speeds . as the owner of 2 2080ti hybrids , thats impressive . yeah the fps are the same , but the power draw is crazy. this video is kinda biased in its presentation . It's not always about fps .... you could run 2 4060ti's in your system for the same power draw as one 2080ti
@@jmangames5562 Bottom line is the RTX 4060 Ti is just a refreshed version of the 2080 Ti with less power usage and faster clock speeds, not to mention (at least where i got it) cheaper with longer lasting driver support. if you do not already have a 2080 (Ti or not) you should get the RTX 4060 Ti if your picking between the two
Good. If your building a new pc 4060ti is better since it offers similar raw performance, has DLSS 3 & frame generation and consumes much less power, but if you already have a 2080ti upgrading is going to be a waste.
You know the funny thing is the 4060 Ti 16gb gives about 2-5fps more than the 8gb model which would mean the 16gb model would be like the 2080 Ti but uses a lot less power.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you are not using dlls3 at any moment with the 4060 ti, if that's the case is a really good option to play any game at good quality for the price
Worse? In some games it performs better, others worse but this doesn't mean that it performs worse. Did you even considered the consumption and temp? 4060ti consume nearly 50% lower watt than 2080ti while being similar in performance. It is not worse, his only issue is that the price is not good for that range card but definitely it is a better option than a 2080ti.
@@Kilson55the issue is the 4060 Ti 8GB shouldn’t even be launched. It’s a $400 card that can’t even run 1080p max without having vram issues. 16GB should have been the only card and marketed as a 4060. Every card is upsold a tier by Nvidia.
@person1745 it's hard to believe that 8gb VRAM are an issue in 1080p considering that the 3070ti has the same VRAM and it is a card used in 1440p too. I think that 8gb VRAM are a limit only in 2160p and for some games in 1440p but for the 1080p they are still fine. I'm saying this monitoring the VRAM used in most games using a 3080 12gb in 1440p, actually only Total War Warhammer 3 and the last of us part 1 used 10gb in 1440p, but I know that the last of us 1 received an update that decreased a bit the VRAM used. Could be probably more games that in 1440p use more than 8gb but we were talking for 1080p which, I will say again, 8gb VRAM are fine.
Hol' up... 8gb keeping up pace with a 11gb card at 1440p???? I thought 8gb wasn't enough like people have been screaming about these last few months... People be crazy.
I mean if you think about it from how the generation and series have been done. a 2 generation newer card 60TI series SHOULD perform on par with the 2 generation older 80TI.
Atleast I haven't experienced a single crash on mine, and I've been playing these new AAA titles at 3440x1440 resolution high settings. Don't let media fool you about 8GB not being enough lol. It's good then buy your new GPU after 5 years when you actually experienced crashes lol
what where the settings for 4060 ti? i played cyberpunk on my daughter's computer at 1440p high settings w/o ray tracing and got around a consistent 55+ fps with her 4060 ti before DLSS 3 lol after dlss and frame generation would get like close to 90 fps my old 2080 ti average was around 60 with DLSS

In 2 years the 3060ti almost beat him. After 4 years the next 60ti still lose... The 4060ti is just a bad joke! With a 24% cut to the rtx 40 shaders capacity, this is a rtx 4050. The non ti 4060 is a fkn gtx 4660 series or worse, with yours 17% cut.
This is what Nvidia should have done with the 40 Series GPUs from the getgo.. unfortunately its leveraging its monopoly Below 1080p Tier GPU * 4060 - $250 1080p to 1440p Tier GPUs * 4060Ti 8GB - $300 * 4060 Ti 16GB - $350 * 4070 - $450 1440p to 2160p Tier GPUs * 4070 Ti - $600 * 4080 - $800 * 4080 Ti - $1000 (if released) * 4090 - $1500 * 4090 Ti - $2000 (if released)
Considering that the 2080Ti is more than competitive with the 3070, it makes sense that the 4060Ti is basically a downgrade. A solid reference here is 80Ti class usually matches up with next gen 70 class, and gen after 60/60ti class. 1080Ti was competitive vs 2070S, still competitive vs 3060/Ti. If it weren't for RT and a few other architecture tweaks, the 1080Ti would still be comp with the 4060/Ti
I appreciate you doing 1440p testing which shows the 4060ti is more than capable. Do you have a video that you do 1080p testing with these two GPUs? 1080p high not ultra. 😁
This looks like a stock FE card and therefore is massively sandbagged by nVidia. My copy runs at 2050mhz/8000 too and in benchmarks is as much as 15% faster than FE cards in Timespy and a few games with a power limit set to 330W. If nvidia had competition then they could have made a card 20% faster than they did initially. This is if they paired it with faster 16Gbps GDDR6 (like the 2080super) and a full 384-bit bus (like the titan RTX) and a 350W power target. All of this makes the 4060ti even more of a clown show then it already is along with the 3070/3070ti , and 16GB of VRAM only slightly fixes things.
Turing really has held up well. If you can live without Ray Tracing and appreciate DLSS then a 2080Ti is still a good 1440p or 4K GPU. It is power hungry though.
The 8 gig 4060 wont have enough VRAM to really do DLSS, although the 16 gig model certainly does. In fact even w/o DLSS the 16 is marginally better FPS than 8, Daniel Owen did show some tests and its remarkable both the 4060Ti models have same hardware other than VRAM allotment. Issue at the moment is price its too close to other better video cards in price, there are better options even at the same price.
2080 ti gains about 5% over the 4060 ti when you go for 4k. Everyone is stuck on this old idea that buying a mid-range GPU means 4k is off the table but I disagree. 4k 144hz is pretty equal to 1440 240 as far as price. 4k 144hz monitors can be found as cheap as these GPUs so it is completely reasonable to have this matchup these days. Dlss on 4k runs like 1440p but looks like 1800p so there is def value in having 4k with a weaker GPU. Another thing.. 4k is useful for far more than just clarity in games so if you aren't super competitive.. get 4k 144 over 1440 240 imo
eh on such cards you neither run 1440p 240 hz nor 4k 120 hz even with dlss or fsr. 4k on a 27 monitor is a waste anyway, 1440p 120-144hz is the target here.
Oh and I got my 4k 144hz g7 from microcenter for $270 including 2 year protection plan. Why someone would buy a $500 GPU and run 1440p when that is an option is beyond my scope of understanding. Different strokes.
@@christophermullins7163 my guy my 4070 doesnt reach these fps you stated with dlss and even FG on. And every benchmark from like gamers nexus shows it aint happening. A 4060ti is a 1440p 60-80fps card at most in todays games

Keep in mind you'd be buying an old, used, dusty piece of hardware that has double the power consumption for more or less the same performance as a brand new card. Go with the 4060 ti
It has more vram which could last you 2 more years before it gets outdated for triple a games(very few play them nowadays) and it could last eSports games 5 more years.
1080p would be more CPU bound in terms of results. 1440p-4K in testing if you're testing GPUs basically make it more GPU bound. That's why he tests at 1440p & 4K for GPUs.
Overall 4060ti is better, but 2080ti is impressive. Raw performance wise there similar with the 4060ti winning in some games and the 2080ti winning in others, but what makes the 4060ti is DLSS 3 & Frame generation, way better power efficiency, better temps, and it will receive driver support for longer. Not worth upgrading to a 4060ti if you have a 2080ti.
People are joking, but I'm still impressed that 60 ti class card is equal with or even beats the flagship of 2 generations ago, all of this while being a gimped card and at almost half the power draw. Imagine if this card had 12gb VRAM on at least 192bit bus width, sold at 350-400$ MSRP.
The thing is, the 3060 ti that was a generation behind closed up 90% of the performance difference. That to me was the impressive part. It was also 30% faster than the 2060 Super, which it replaces. 4060 Ti isn’t impressive because it literally is a 4060 upsold as a 4060 Ti. Samsung 8nm to TSMC 4nm is a huge improvement, they could easily improve performance by 30% and still have better power efficiency.
Don't trust everything you see on the internet, just like this video. the rtx 4060 ti is getting a bit less fps because this youtuber messed with the bios settings and in-game settings. If he didn't mess with them, then the rtx 4060 ti would perform a little bit better. But even if you still have an rtx 2080 ti and thinking about upgrading, then you should probably upgrade to the 4070 super or 4070 ti.
Performance is great at those power consumption levels. Still a new PSU would only be about 100-200 if it wasn't. Not worth the upgrade from a 2080Ti most owners already have a 750W + PSU anyways.. only worth upgrading to a 4080Ti for at least + 50% performance.
Im excited for AMD 8000 APUs, they're going to eliminate mid-tier gaming cards. With expectations of GPU pricing rising once again with AI demands, APU will be more critical than ever.
What do you mean with APUs? You don't mean the g CPUs right? Because CPUs like the Ryzen 5 5600g aren't even close to an actual graphics card so I guess you mean other APUs?
Just seen it, seems interesting, but I'm not sure if that's just rumors and could end up being wrong. Also, even if it ends up being 100% true, there'd still be the issue that they would eat up their own GPU sales which can't be in their own interest. So I'd suppose they wouldn't exactly price those cheaply then

@capsloct4863 the rx 6800 destroys a 3070ti in raster. Bro a 4060ti is a 1080p card why even bither with raytracing in such a low resolutuin. And it draws 50 watts more big deal 😅 funny how you mention clock speed which tells nothing of Performance. You kinda exposed yourself there. @capsloct4863 you must be smoking crack, first of all ray tracing on a 4060ti is pointless, even in 1080p , if you want good ray tracing in 1080p you need a 4070 The 4060ti cannot even beat a 6700xt in performance much less the rx 6800. Rx 6800 sells for 479$ and has 16gbvram the 4060ti 16gb sells for 500$ and has much less raster performance, the difference is night and day in performance
@capsloct4863 NVidia cards aren't worth it unless you have the money for a 4090. The new driver that AMD just released makes the 7900 XTX faster than the 4080 and the 7900 XTX is usually cheaper
Rtx 2080 ti slightly perform better then rtx 4060 ti but the difference between graphic power wattage is huge , rtx 4060 ti performs surprisingly better at this power comsuption
So, current generation entry level gaming card (399$) is at the same level than 2 generation old supercard (999$). What's not to like? Well, the pricing of the more powerful models, that's what. 4070 ti has more power, but it's MSRP of 799$ is absolutely bonkers in comparison. Well, I'll be better off waiting for the 5060 ti to replace my 2080 super, then...
Considering it's 2 gens old, having just 8gb instead of 11gb at 400€ is extremely bad. The 3060 offered the same performance as the 1080 ti + 12gb after all at just 330€ and even this product was kinda disappointing. So I guess that makes the 4060 ti one of the worst value products Nvidia has brought out so far.
This is exactly on par for what the results should be. I have an RTX 2080 t.i. and it performs about as good as a 3070 or 3070ti. It's funny how people get on here and complain and don't know what they are talking about. The RTX 2080 t.i. was 30-40% faster than the 1080ti depending on the game you were playing. It is in no way a bad GPU.
That's why we always say competition is important , no one should buy 4080 cuz u have 7900 xtx cheaper, have more performances and have more vram so its great!. and no one should buy 4070 ti cuz u have 7900 xt cheaper, have more performance and have more vram, lol. Cant wait for 7800 xt and 7700 xt, hope for amd to defeat 4070 and 4060 ti, to make nvidiot know their fault.
This isnt unexpected. It not a rule, but generally, a card matches one level lower per genration. All things being equal, a 2080 matches a 3070, both match a 4060. So far, nothing unexpected. What IS unexpected is for a goddamned 4060 to cost as mich as a 2080! *And* for it to pull down as much power, usually the same level across generations also uses less power. i.e., a 2080 and 4060 would perform the same, but the 4k drawing 100w less, or whatever.
3000 series were a way larger step than usual. Amd is loosig on raytracing, they need to work on that. Then you'll be right. 60's cards were always the "student's cards" and it delivers it.

A solid reference here is 80Ti class usually matches up with next gen 70 class, and gen after 60/60ti class. 1080Ti was competitive vs 2070S, still competitive vs 3060/Ti. bruh look at the power draw :O
Why is the 2080 Ti's clock speeds that low? Mine out of the box sits at roughly 2100MHz and 7999mhz on the memory clock.

The 8 gig 4060 wont have enough VRAM to really do DLSS, although the 16 gig model certainly does. 2080ti is a great card ageless

I am curious to see if the 16GB VRAM version may help in VRAM heavy unoptimized games (e.g. TLOU and Hogwarts Legacy)
honestly yes but its way too expensive wwith 16
@capsloct4863 you drunk? The 4060ti 16gb costs 500. For that you can get a rx 6800 16gb that conplelty destroys the 4060ti and is also super power efficent. No reason to buy a 4060ti exept being clueless or a fanboy really
Again peoole who buy a 4060ti are suckers for nvida, every tech reviewer says that. Imaging paying 500 for a 1080p card ahahahahha. But hey ypu be happy with that and i play 1440p with my rx 6800 undeevolted to 150 watts and 20% more fps but hey at least ypu have the nvida logo on ypur card 🌚
@capsloct4863 you must be smoking crack, first of all ray tracing on a 4060ti is pointless, even in 1080p , if you want good ray tracing in 1080p you need a 4070
The 4060ti cannot even beat a 6700xt in performance much less the rx 6800.
Rtx 2080 ti slightly perform better then rtx 4060 ti but the difference between graphic power wattage is huge , rtx 4060 ti performs surprisingly better at this power comsuption
only 1.9ghz sometimes 1.8 on the 2080ti???
So, current generation entry level gaming card (399$) is at the same level than 2 generation old supercard (999$). What's not to like?
Well, the pricing of the more powerful models, that's what. 4070 ti has more power, but it's MSRP of 799$ is absolutely bonkers in comparison. Well, I'll be better off waiting for the 5060 ti to replace my 2080 super, then...
Nvidia really got a big head with the 3000’s it’s sad
4060 ti consumes 100w less, not bad at all
except price
It is bad when you factor in the price, the memory bus and the 4 year age difference. This card underperforms severely.
A card that can match an 80 class GPU from 2 generations ago while costing $400 is pretty bad.
Low power is because nVidia starts using TSMC 5nm chip. In the future, no more benefit of power saving !!!
40% is an exaggeration. 2080 Ti was 30% faster yes
40 series is a effective generation rather than normal performance leap
Look at that power consumption difference.
I DON'T TRUST ANYTHING ABOUT THIS CHANNEL, ABOVE IT NEVER DOES THE TESTS WITH THE BENCHMARKS THAT THE GAMES HAVE INTEGRATED
true
That's why we always say competition is important , no one should buy 4080 cuz u have 7900 xtx cheaper, have more performances and have more vram so its great!. and no one should buy 4070 ti cuz u have 7900 xt cheaper, have more performance and have more vram, lol. Cant wait for 7800 xt and 7700 xt, hope for amd to defeat 4070 and 4060 ti, to make nvidiot know their fault.
vram tards still exist? lol
Top tier card vs middle card? 3070 would the same
So, basically the 4060Ti has almost the same performance than 2080ti
My poor 2080ti is being forced to play cyberpunk in 4k with ray tracing and the real life mod. It hates me.
1080ti vs 3060ti : 3060ti wins most of the time
2080ti vs 4060ti : 2080ti wins most of the time
Conclusion, BUY AN AMD GPU
3000 series were a way larger step than usual. Amd is loosig on raytracing, they need to work on that. Then you'll be right. 60's cards were always the "student's cards" and it delivers it.
4060ti gives more smooth gameplay even when fps is the same, fps is only a overall performance, but details are not displayed throw fps itself.
I can't believe that?! Is that Gen 4?!😮😢😅😂
2080ti is a one in a hundred generation masterpiece 👌
It was garbage value and barely an improvement over the 1080ti. 30 series were that if it wasnt for mining
@@rx10it brought RT cores(and still has quite good RT performance) and DLSS, it aged like fine wine, unlike the 1080ti that struggles running dx12 games now on the hardware level
Evidently the textures seems inferior and lacking detail compared to 2080 ti.
Only power draw is impressive of 4060
POWERFUL?YES!Trade by nearly 100W more power consumption lol
You should include DLSS 3 vs DLSS 2 with ray tracing in these tests. Since at this point everyone knows how bad the rasterization performance of the 4060 and 4060 Ti is.
150 vs 250watt with a difference 5-6 fps is awesome
That sucks tho, but the main thing of series 40 is the DLSS 3.0 so yeah right now it can be easily beated but if you put the DLSS 3.0 on a serie 40 the 4060 TI outplay the 2080 ti
If i had one i would stil use the rtx 2080 ti for me is a beter gpu. But i must be good with my used rtx 2060 from evga it costed me 137€ boughted at the end of last year.
Is this test for real?
a second hand 2080 Ti is probably way cheaper than 4060 Ti.
260 dollars in my country 😢
Huh, turn frame generation on and see the results. The 4060 ti is awesome.
Well thats the idea behind it. I have the cheapest RTX 4060 Ti in my PC from Gainward, Ghost edition coupled with i5 12400f and 32 gb RAM and I have around 80-90 fps@1080p with full ultra and technology preview "Path Tracing". @telquin6974
and ratchet and clank?
It's broken crap, even 11 gb of vram is not enough, this game use above 13 gb of vram even at 1080 p,so broken ps 5 shit

@@Hehhhhhhhavvvv after patches not so vram hungry loke ratcher and clank, way less Vram intensvie, but it's also have problems with CPU,ram and vram usage like many ps 5 ports like spider man, where vram usage is higher and higher when u playing for no reason and in spider man u must have fast CPU for avoiding bottleneck especially on 1080 p, Ratcher and clank looks like cartoon and use 13 gb of vram, because game coded with ass

Games these days are terrible 💔
hold on, so the power draw is twice as much on 2080ti?
Great, the 4060 Ti can match a 80 class card from 2 generations behind... and let's also not forget the RTX 20 series was also an underwhelming generation since the 2080 Ti was only 20% faster than the 1080 Ti. So in reality, the 4060 Ti is 20% faster than the GTX 1080 Ti.
2080 ti is 35% faster than 1080 ti at least now
that perf difference is close, more like about ~%25, he did a video on 1080ti vs 4060ti a little over a month ago, if you want to watch the name of it is:
"GTX 1080 Ti vs RTX 4060 Ti - Test in 10 Games"

@@thewakly Sorry, I used TechPowerUp as a reference but still, it's pathetic. The 4060 Ti should smash the 1080 Ti in fact it should be comparable to a 3080.
@@HitMarkersAreFun Still weak, 4060 Ti should trade blows with a 3080.

Who cares about it being current gen the 4060ti is around the same or worse than the 2080ti just because it has the performance equivalent to an older card doesn't mean its older.... The ps5 pro isnt an older gen
