  • With 2 months to go until the end of the year. October 12th marked the final mainline steam tour of the season which was hauled by Southern Merchant Navy Rebuild No.35028 Clan Line recreating a Summer Saturday occurrence along the the West of England Line hauling the Atlantic Coast Express from London Waterloo to Exeter St David's and back to Waterloo via the Wessex Mainline to Salisbury.
The first location takes us to Honiton where Clan Line could be seen waiting for a late inbound South Western Railway from Exeter Central to pass before being allowed down to Pinhoe and Exeter.
After trying to race the loco to Exeter to catch her moving into Riverside N.Y which as i got St David's could see her moving into the yard which was annoying. With the loco being serviced and passengers aboard again it was time for the return and the location filmed at was Pughams Crossing for final time this year which saw the Merchant Navy tackling Whiteball Bank and what a lovely evening it was to end this years season.
I would like to say thank you to all the touring company's who have operated charters this year and already looking forward to next year.
