6:19 I think that’s actually a fair assumption. In fact, as a weapon, the keyblade would realistically function more like a club than a sword. While Sora and other characters have used theirs to slice through buildings and enemies alike, I like to think that’s due to them infusing the keyblades with magic rather than the keyblade itself being able to cut through stuff.

FINALLY someone honors my favorite game. I watched this video just to see Infinity getting more respect. This was such a fun game, and the toys being there or not doesn't change that. You missed the Kingdom Hearts reference in Elden Ring: After you give the 4th Deathroot to the Gurranq Beast Clergyman, he goes nuts and attacks you. If you beat the crap out of him he comes back to his senses and is friendly again, an obvious reference to KH story mechanics.
I thought that was a DBZ reference.
please master please control yourself
🤣🤣🤣
Well Keyswords exist in the orginial darksiders,, although the blade looks like Clouds Buster Sword. They look nothing like a key, BUT they re keys that can open gates... IDk if you count this !
I know of another. In the mobile game Guardian tales in the kama zone there is a random chance of getting a keyblade shape artifact
Guardian tales and even in Terraria aswell
I would buy one of those king Mickey disc but I didn’t have a Mickey figure
I love World of Final Fantasy and I got the Sora medal day 1 when it was released. However I do not believe the Sora medal was released on the Switch port World of Final Fantasy Maxima. Meaning, for some reason, the Sora medal is exclusive to the Vita version for those that received it, while everything else is on the Switch version.
Yup~ i just went and bought the maxima dlc, i still want Sora medal in ps4 ver
I'm guessing other studios don't make KH references often for fear of summoning The Mouse, like Beetlejuice or Satan.
Fun Fact: Whenever I walk away from someone, I never hear them say "Please, Oh baby! don't go!"
Miitopia has a small kingdom hearts Easter egg. A mii assigned the cleric role can purchase the key staff as a weapon which looks like a keyblade while a mii assigned the mage role can purchase a zipper robe as armor and that resembles the organization XIII cloaks.
Every single reference makes my day. I always freak out over them haha
Fun fact in Adventure Quest World they have a Sword called the Azure Starblade which is in the shape of a keyblade within the description parodying Simple and Clean
In the Overwatch map Dorado there is a tent that has the Kingdom Hearts logo all over it
I was about to bring up Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 as having a potential Kingdom Hearts reference, but after actually looking into it I realized that the poster that I thought was of someone wearing an Organization XIII outfit was actually a parody of Tekken 4 cover art
Theres a weapon called Keyblade in Dicey Dungeons
There was a small Kingdom Hearts reference in the 2003 game Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon. When you enter the Praque Castle there was a small room for an IT worker there (You had to go there anyway to get a key card unlocked). And on the computer there was a wallpaper of the first Kingdom Hearts game hidden by application windows.
I cannot stop laughing over the fact that the Sora npc in WoW is basically if Sora saw Lexaeus and decided he wanted to look like him
Talking about wow reference, you have a quest item in old Uldaman that looks like a keyblade and later on you can craft it in Cataclysm and it is called Key to the Planes. There's also a shield named Kingdom's Heart but it doesn't have a visual linked
Sora, Riku, and Kairi were added to Final Fantasy Brave Exvius a while back in a gacha banner.
Young Xehanort was also added to FFBE when Kingdom Hearts Dark Road was released.
In Rayman Origins There a Flag that has the Kingdom Hearts Logo on it
I remember, as a child, staring at the statues in The Simpsons game and thinking for way too long "is that a keyblade?" Lol
I think in overwatch in one of the maps called dorado it has a few hearts shapped like the heart logo from kingdom hearts
There’s a cool but unupgradable Keyblade in dark souls 2 that you can choose to keep instead of use, it doesn’t carry over to ng + but it’s pretty solid for the first 2-3 runs
In the game Hyperdimension Neptunia: Megadimension Neptunia" there is a character named S-sha with a second personality named E-sha. On S-sha/E-sha's jacket there is a zipper in the shape of a Keyblade (S-sha and E-sha are based on Square Enix)
I agree. The new "Third party company" characters in both their default and CPU forms are heavily inspired by the properties owned by Bandai Namco, Capcom, Konami and Square Enix which they were based off of.
Recently they added a “key” blade to Rumble-verse. Thought it wasn’t a reference, but you do kh2 style spin attacks, and hold a button to fly like Peter Pan when holding the key.
I wonder, if it's not one of your franchises, do you have to always ask when referencing something in a game? I wonder if there ever are cases of companies asking another to delete their eastereggs because they didn't give them money for licensing a character or item.
Awesome video bro
1:46 Also, the sumo enemies in this level will occasionally quote Ansem.
Brave Exvius had some guest characters you could get, Neo The World Ends with You has a Simple and Clean ref in one of the questioning parts
Sora hair was just in the new Rescue Rangers movie....I paused it the second I saw it and realized it and laughed my ass off for 5 min straight
I was a bit high tho so probably wasn't as funny as I thought it was
I'd love to see a short where Deadpool begs Disney to let him in kh4 if he behave himself haha
in Evoland 2 you can find sora in a forest along with several other characters (cloud from ff7, ryu from street fighter, and mario being some of them)
FINALLY someone honors my favorite game. I watched this video just to see Infinity getting more respect. This was such a fun game, and the toys being there or not doesn't change that. Try the PC port with all the content baked in, if you do some code modifying, you can get the Keyblade and King Mickey costume without spending thousands.
0:55 I think skeleton keys that can open any door are just frequently appearing items in RPGs
Kingdom Hearts first reference ever was made for the 1928 short Steambot Willie, that took its setting straight from Kingdom Hearts II Timeless River
There's a indie video game called Castle in the Darkness. If you play Easy Mode, there is a "Key Blade" you can get.
There was a Marvel game where you could have for example Deadpool and he had a weapon that I believe even was called Keyblade and the description was Deadpool saying "A heart, a heart, a kingdom for a heart!"
In the PSP remake of FF1 in the dungeon room full of kids one of them will say "I've been having weird thoughts lately" which is the first line in the Kingdom Hearts intro.
In Thracia Overclocked a fan made hack of Fire Emblem Thracia 776, The thief Lithis is in possession of The Thiefblade. Not only is the item icon The Kingdom Key, but in battle also. It also gives Luna and can unlock chests and doors.

In actuality compared to most other weapons, the Keybrand really falls flat. Being a sword with no projectile really limits its use compared to the True Nights Edge/True Excalibur or Terrablade, and thats just taking into account swords.
The Final Fantasy 15 example may just be referring to a Skeleton Key, a generic magical item in some games that can unlock any door, or it could be a specific reference to the Magic Key from Dragon Quest games which has that same function.
there's a character in the game "Megadimension Neptunia VII" there's a character named S-sha who represents Square enix, in her regular form has a key zipper pull on her top and when she transforms into her gold third form, she has a crown like sora is often depicted wearing in KH Artwork
Kingdom Hearts got a reference in the new Chip n Dale movie, for some second you can see Soras hair.
In the anime "Date a Live" (season 4, episode 5), the boy who's named Shido, make nearly the same like Sora - he opened with his sword a portal to an other world.
In the next episode, the (normal) Shido copied the key(blade) of the girl in space and had a key(blade), too.
This was awsome! 😍
Ah I remember that Power disc, I got two from D23 Expo.
I have 400 hours (idk how that’s wut it says on my playstation) in ffxv and i lost my sh*t when i heard that easter egg
