  • Air India Express Cancels 90+ Flights as Employees Call in Sick | Vantage with Palki Sharma
    Air India Express will curtail flights for the next few days as the airline has been forced to cancel more than 90 flights since Tuesday night due to cabin crew members reporting sick. India's civil aviation ministry has sought a report, asking the aviation firm to resolve issues promptly and ensure facilities to passengers as per DGCA norms. But what explains the recent turbulence in the Indian aviation sector? India is the fastest-growing aviation market in the world but can it keep up with the demand? Who pays the price for these delays and cancellations? Palki Sharma tells you.

      I am very sorry to hear your comment - I have people known working on Air india express. Before commenting you should understand few things. Air india express is one of the brand which was profitable. If they were lazy and snoring what hurts you moreover your bank balance did not compensate to make such cheap comments on an other cabin crew. I personally flied on both airlines , Air india is way better than indigo in all terms. Air india supported and bought back so many Indians who were stranded on overseas during Russia Ukraine war. What did your airline do ?

    • @user-dw8ji8ts6s
      @user-dw8ji8ts6s 22 дня назад

      Let me make it straight - If indigo is taken over by jet airways for example. Jet airways decides to sit in indigo assessment panel and with no reason your contracts are cut shorten and termination emails sent out where even local location HRs are not aware and HRA allowance and other allowances are taken out despite they being a profitable airlines . Then you will understand. Also they make instant decisions of cut shortening the salary cap and reduce the age limits and reduce the BMI Standards were has international airline's like emirates don't even bother on those grounds and pay triple the salary then what is offered by airindia / indigo.
      Note :- Air india express is different from Air india. They have been always a profitable airline.

    Soo many young people want to become pilots in India, but unlike the western nations where anyone can become a pilot, you need to have done your 10th and 12th in specific subjects and have had specific percentage of marks. I know one person in family who wanted to become a pilot and was denied the chance because he was from commerce background. This needs to change sometime in future

    • @dukhi_aatma372
      @dukhi_aatma372 21 день назад +4

      That is not true. All developed western countries require candidates to show proof of completion of education, that includes Physics and Mathematics (mandatory), at high school level and with certain minimum grades. So students in these countries already fulfil the criteria by default when then pass out from High School. There is no requirement of a formal Bachelor degree in STEM subject though. So 'anyone can become Pilot' there.
      Knowledge of Physics and Mathematics is mandatory requirement all across the world for a job as a Pilot in Airline company.
      Plus, in India, in some state boards Physics is not even included as a separate subject at high school level (10th and 12th) - and students from Commerce background almost never get a formal education in Physics. So how do you expect them to complete the challenging Pilot training program and fulfil the minimum requirements?
      Last, just because there is a shortage doesn't mean we lower the bar and allow anyone to become a Pilot. It is like saying, let's admit Commerce and Arts folks to medical college because there is a shortage of Doctors! Both Doctors and Pilots have responsibility towards people's life.

    This is going to be a growing and common trend in India on our journey to privatization ( which is extremly important and necessary). A country like India cannot, I repeat cannot , have a goverment that governs and is an employer. Private company management doesn't care if you will vote for your employers again or not. I say this with a couple of family members experiencing this. People will need to be re trained if they want to keep up with the advancements in hospitality and technology. There is no way out of it. Unions in private sector are therefore weaker. A company thinks in profits and losses and a givernemnt operated corporation thinks of its employees also as possible future voters. This is also the case with govt schools, institues. Go and read more. But please understand why our tax money cannot go back to a govt run Air India with age old rules of management in 2024. Show kindness to Tata group, this country has the best corporate social responsibility records for India.

      Govt doesn't think about profits.... Govt institutions are under funded. The govt is running hospitals and schools in the remotest areas even though they are at a loss just for the public service.
      .
      For exam in my locality govt is running state rtc buses in non profitable routes because private buses won't operate in that route as it is not profitable for them ...

    I can see how dumb and illiterate to the Aviation industry common people are.
    NOBODY HAS LAID BACK LIFE in that industry to be honest, except for the greedy management in their ac offices.
    Employees are dying and selling their health , time and are treated like rubble. And you expect they are having a chill life? The every month 20-30 airline Employees are getting unfit due to health issues from over fatigue nd working
    Easy for us to sit in on our phones and comment on those poor airline employees. Try living their life and then comment.
    Now people will say they chose this profession but let me tell you when someone else chooses to change your lifestyle , sleep time, family time amd holidays according to their will on a DAILY basis even after promising something else , it takes a toll....
    Think of if yourself, i myself complain when I'm told on fri that I've to work on Saturdays as well. Imagine that on a daily basis, where you don't have any stability in life..!!
