Its a ticking time bomb at 500bhp on a 1600 engine and early VXR models dont do corners. It proves absolutely nothing unfortunately.
@@Bazgti250 your just a child mate, when you've driven one and worked on one then you can give all the bullshit you want! My Vectra VXR is running strong after 14 years, no issues whatsoever even with the timing chain (just have to use the right engine oil). My stock Z28NET motor can take 420 BHP on stock internals and the fastest one in the UK is running just over 700 BHP.

@@asifnoaman8978 Im a child? Where did that comment come from? I used to work at a Vauxhall dealer that serviced and maintained Greater Manchester Police's Vectra VXR fleet back in the day. I had a Corsa and an Astra VXR as my demo at one point. Torque steered, hated corners and built out of chocolate. The corsa was marginally better though, albeit not as quick. I had a Nova for my 1st car, I grew up with Nova SR and SRIs with my uncle. Same problem, no abilities to go around a corner at speed. No match for anything French from that era. Ive heard all the stories id ever need to hear about Vauxhall, never mind the VXR. So behave with patronising 'child' comment. As W.O Bentley once said 'theres no replacement for displacement'. Tuning a 2.8 litre to 700bhp is more viable than 500 on a 1.6 you helmet. That accounts for most engines, not just Vauxhall. So get down off your high Griffin. As others have said, you might have a mechanically sound motor that 14 years old now, at this point in time. But i can guarantee it hasnt been 14 years of absolute car reliability. Cars arent built to last, otherwise parts and service departments would be obsolete and Vauxhall certainly dont have that reputation for reliability.

Its very pointless running 1.6 engine at 500hp, power band is too thin.
Its not about hp number, its about power delivery, diesels make power In very narrow area.
Thats why big NA engines are Best In straight Line.
@@deaami6130 diesels make power from about 1500-4500rpm. Petrol is 3k-6.5k in a boosted low revving car. Its not a much different powerband width, just at a different point.

@@m3rri3n36 on a car with an external waste gate setup, they vent the waste exhaust gas out of the screamer pipe to avoid it going back into the exhaust system and causing turbulent airflow and high exhaust back pressure.

I have a megane r26 with about 285bhp and it is a hard to launch cleanly and useless in the wet. I can't imagine how hard 500bhp would be to get to the road through front wheels.

Trust me, I have had my fair share of track oriented cars over the years. More comfort and reliability now is what I want.

Its always wet! You should come to Australia, I can't even remember the last time it rained. I think its rained once in the last 3 months, which was only 4mm which barely waters the garden. Also we had 1 month in winter which is usually the wettest month and and we had 0mm.
