i love sea of thieves so much, i played so many hours of it during the pandemic and it helped alleviate that feeling of being trapped inside all the time. exploring the vast oceans, solving puzzles, "retiring" and taking on a life of simple fishing at devil's ridge, inititiating unexpecting friends into our crew by locking them in the brig and vomiting on them, and our signature ritual of burning our boat and playing sea shanties until we drown before we get off. this game holds a special place in my heart and it's one of those that i always find myself playing again with old friends :)

Exactly. The game itself is incredibly fun and engaging. But earning all that money just for cosmetic rewards have kinda killed my interest. Owning your ship is cool but there needs to more enganging mechanings beyond pure cosmetics.
I literally don't understand what I'm supposed to do in this game. You can't upgrade your ship, your weapons, or your character. You can slightly change their cosmetics but that's it. You can't permanently keep loot or any long-term meaningful changes. You pretty much just log in sail around for a little bit gain a tiny little bit of gold, and then have to restart everything from scratch the next time you log on. Am I missing something?
I tried to get into the game but as much as you can stretch out the good things, there actually isn't much you can do besides fish, a few reskinned missions and once in a blue moon have encounters with enemy players. I think around 15-20 hours and I've seen everything this game has to offer

A couple things i might add is that although you may think seeing another player is nice, if you are not pvp oriented thats a bad thing. This game is a pvp game with pve elements. The fact you did not get absolutely dogged by some pros while filming is a miracle. Out of all the games i have ever played this community is the most toxic in all the aspects you can think. There may be more to do than in 2018 but the game is still the same. Pretty much get good or die. Which inherently makes sea of thieves anti casual.
Thats kinda just the product of an older game. The first people to leave are the most casual, so time concentrates the community to the die-hard players, and we all know what happens when you combine those types of players and pvp.
The game its self doesn't really have the most memorable story, but the journey and experience you get with friends in this game is unlike anything else. Sometime its playing music under night sky. Sometime you sailing in sloop from other galleon, ship full of gold and chest, then out maneuver them at the edge of the map with anchor while blasting tokyo drift in all chat.
I gave up on this game because I can only sail solo, and always get ganked by galleons full of xbox kids. You can join a public crew, but they always do their own thing and/or are full of kids
I’d add a “ghostly navigator” that may drive the ship towards map markers, and a game table with mini games to play alone, or in a group, so to fill those empty moments, for those who’d want it.
Been playing solo sloop since 2018. Loved being able to go to world events and clear a fortress or raise an emissary without needing to look behind my back every 5 seconds. Unfortunately i still got that paranoia of leaving my ship unattended for prolonged periods of time despite what people say about the sea being "empty" and not encountering any other crews
While I used to not mind the micro transactions I feel they take so much away from the normal cosmetics we barely get new ones. I understand it’s a business and that’s how they get money
As a person who has been at endgame for awhile I been on and off with it...the reason I continue to quit is really just the community. Toxic...toxic...toxic. Also, the pve fucking sucks. HP sponge...hp sponge...hp sponge...and the worst part of all is everything is designed to make you easily gankable by roaming pirates so no fight is ever fair. Just for heavens sake don't assume SoT is a silly PvE pirate romp even if that is what the trailers show. PvP is THE focus of the game and if you are not down for that, you shouldn't get it.
Just figured out you did RUclips, really enjoying the videos! This is one of my favorite games, I have this super cool lore/art book that adds even more to my immersion.
I have this game but haven't played it much. I'm always intimidated by the reports online that it's a grief-fest, and that the best way to have fun is with a group of friends. I don't have any friends. Well, not any friends that will play Sea of Thieves with me.
I loved this game on xbox, playing with friends years ago. I returned recently and tried doing some classic Athena voyages with friends for the nostalgia. But the only players I would run into were extremely sweaty for no reason what so ever, and we'd sink. I had just left an outpost after just spawning in and getting food, ammo, etc for my ship, and a sweaty brig team rolled up screaming racial slurs in game chat while trying their hardest to kill me and my console friends. They killed us and sunk us with ease, we're not bad players, but we're also not super good, your average player. I had to let this game go after player fights got too hard for me, I just want to have fun while fighting people, not play like my family will be murdered by a Mexican cartel if i dont win every fight. Thats not what video games were made for, they're made to have fun and enjoy.
@@Tylerrrrrb You must ride the short bus if you think we're 'too soft for a kids pirate game'. We all have the gold curse, done just about everything their is to do in the game, bad updates made the game stale and gave us not a single reason to keep playing. Imagine that.
This game would be one of my favorites if I was allowed to hunt for treasure without getting railed by assholes who waited for me to do all the work before steamrolling me and taking everything
I like the new feature were every one can fly now and never miss shots. This one time I was just chilling when someone fly over to my boat and then proceeded to aimbot me until I left the game. Really my favorite season by far
A huge issue I have with the game is that there is practically no way to have meaningful PvP, barely anybody even goes after world events anymore. I feel like people don't want to fight on any server, and they never have any loot on board either because they rush to an outpost with even the smallest amount of treasure. The most I've seen on another ship in months was maybe 2 Villainous skulls. Then even despite having nothing, people will just run away from you for 45min+ and scuttle the moment you catch them. It wasn't like this when the game initially released and it was so much more fun having high stakes battles over world events with several other crews. Every time I get on the sees now I feel like the game is dead, even if the player numbers say otherwise.
I have 1.3k hours on this game and now i find it boring however, every moment before that landmark was tone of my favorite moments in all of gaming, my only problem is rares servers taking place in a god damn shooting range lmao
Conveniently leaving out the fact that this game is RIDDLED with blatant cheaters. God mode, no-clipping, vanishing, aimbot, ESP, teleporting, they can literally go full rage hack and never get banned. You will never find a lobby without them. This game is long dead, developers abandoned it, and only return for content they made in a weekend that never works. Do yourself a favor and never play this trash game. Had great potential, wasted by careless devs.
@@MrSaviorHD ah then if you dont know already, the 2nd monkey island Tall Tale releases next month which should let you explore the rest of Melee island. then the final tall tale will release in September on Monkey Island.
Sea of Thieves is one of my favorite games of all time. Vanilla was fun with friends and the game has gotten better. I play it every 3-4 updates so its enough stuff to be new.
The main reason I stopped playing this game was when the separated the PvP and PvE servers. I loved being a pirate and chasing people down for their gold, but now those people who are there to make money play on safe servers, while the PvP folks like myself are forced onto a server where no one is doing quests since we are all there for battle. No more thieving in Sea of Thieves it seems
I honestly can’t remember the last time I played Sea of Thieves for less than 2 hours in one sitting. There’s just so much to do and it’s easy to get distracted lol.
tbh they added alot to do when u just wanna chill shit like fishing and i get that its called sea of thieves and so theres pirates but the map is too small to even go fishing so i think its kinda weird they added it.
well you are great, when i was watch i was like hey i should like video its really good. and then i see you have 37k subs. Like wtf this video is made like you have 500k and mic is good btw. I leave the like an sub (sry for my eng i hope you will understand)
I have a problem with this game. I would love it way more had it not been just customization options as your only rewards. I wish they added extra weapons and you can add or take away things on your boat. Be able to move things on your boat and mix it up so everything is more personalized. It gets so bland because as much as there is to do you know you’re grinding to replace skins that you grinded hours for already. It’s a waste of a great game with cool boat and water mechanics but it hurts to watch it now
I tried it once and was showing it to my nephews. I got a treasure and then got pursued and killed by a bunch of dudes screaming shit and calling me names. I had to mute the game because of the kids and well... Didn't bother again. Should be fun with friends, but playing alone feels mostly like you're going to get owned every time.
Thankfully they’re adding “safe servers”. You’ll be able to crew up and have no other players ships in your game. I think it’s getting added in December. I quit playing the game a few months after it came out due to griefers just wasting my time. Just know progression and money earned is gonna be 30% of what it usually is.
Hope you all enjoy the new video!

After watching more hours of videos than people have game time, im putting this on the steam wishlist...
Perfect game on sale
Just for heavens sake don't assume SoT is a silly PvE pirate romp even if that is what the trailers show. PvP is THE focus of the game and if you are not down for that, you shouldn't get it.
Very true! There is fun for both sides. Just don't expect people to be nice if all you're wanting to do is sail around peacefully.
High quality content! Love it.
Glad you enjoy it!
just came from your no mans sky video - love the content bro!
Thank you very much. Means a lot that you and some other viewers come to my other videos as well.
Just figured out you did RUclips, really enjoying the videos! This is one of my favorite games, I have this super cool lore/art book that adds even more to my immersion.
Welcome aboard matey
i dont have friends so when i played this for the 3 times i had no clue what i was doing,
The fact that there is no progression system outside of cosmetics really kills this game for me.
I literally could play the game for a solid month and wouldn’t get bored, I love sailing around so much
this video deserves way more views, keep it up
Thanks gamer!
Very well done video! I would love to see more of your pirate adventures. 👍
I have this game but haven't played it much. I'm always intimidated by the reports online that it's a grief-fest, and that the best way to have fun is with a group of friends. I don't have any friends. Well, not any friends that will play Sea of Thieves with me.
There's some nice discords that help other players find crews to play with!
"me and my console friends" are soft.. you and ur friends are too soft for a kids pirate game, imagine that
@@Tylerrrrrb You must ride the short bus if you think we're 'too soft for a kids pirate game'. We all have the gold curse, done just about everything their is to do in the game, bad updates made the game stale and gave us not a single reason to keep playing. Imagine that.
This game would be one of my favorites if I was allowed to hunt for treasure without getting railed by assholes who waited for me to do all the work before steamrolling me and taking everything
they are private servers with zero pvp...
Great video how does it not have more view? Keep it up!
Thanks Cory!
Good video, man. Earned my sub
Appreciate it gamer!
I like the new feature were every one can fly now and never miss shots. This one time I was just chilling when someone fly over to my boat and then proceeded to aimbot me until I left the game. Really my favorite season by far
Now i need this game... thank for your good work ! keep it up !
Enjoy it
Man, your vids are good, keep up the awesome content/work. You got another sub!
Thanks gamer
just to say that intro was amazing
Thanks!
your pirate voice is on point
Thanks gamer
10:30 BRO THATS THE SHROUDED GHOST!!!
Sure is!
@@MrSaviorHD yo i hope you got him! Hes so rare!
@@MrSaviorHD Why u saying “Sure is!” like it’s a normal thing. There are ppl with thousands of hours that have never found it.
id consider if it they added opt out of PVP. not gona get hunted by 4 players vs just me in a small ship.
In some way you can, but ya you can't get rid of that 100% unless you're in a story mission.
That rowboat on the back of the ship thing was the most relatable thing I've seen in a long time.
LMAO
Perfect Pirate impressive 10/10
Definitely got a new subscriber here, vid was hilarious 😅
Thanks gamer
Yep. The PVP battles were epic at launch.
I think their arena/battleground mode ruined it. Most of the PVP players went there instead.
What an awesome pirate voice.
Thanks
You need to play the Pirate's Life tall tales. They're SO GOOOOOOD
Just started Monkey Island last night!
@@MrSaviorHD ah then if you dont know already, the 2nd monkey island Tall Tale releases next month which should let you explore the rest of Melee island. then the final tall tale will release in September on Monkey Island.
Zeddy win the Blizzard award of . How many time can you say Barrel of Sludge in a single video 🤣
Sea of Thieves is one of my favorite games of all time. Vanilla was fun with friends and the game has gotten better. I play it every 3-4 updates so its enough stuff to be new.
It’s a relaxing game for me as of now
This game is fun, but it's like Minecraft, you play one week and stop for a year. Great video dude!
Thanks!
0:28 you sound extremely similar to the Rare guy who actually does the pirate voice for SoT. Nice.
Thanks!
Loving the content! Sea of Thieves has always seemed so fun to me~ maybe I'll give it a try!
Play it! Its so much fun!
Oh it’s definitely a must play. I promise. I started a couple months ago and absolutely love it. If you have the game pass it’s free even on pc
I honestly can’t remember the last time I played Sea of Thieves for less than 2 hours in one sitting. There’s just so much to do and it’s easy to get distracted lol.
Subscribed after your pirate intro!
Appreciate that!
Love the vid!
Thanks!
That was a bangin' pirate impression
tbh they added alot to do when u just wanna chill shit like fishing and i get that its called sea of thieves and so theres pirates but the map is too small to even go fishing so i think its kinda weird they added it.
I have a sun conure named mango and i can confirm birds like chicken.
Oh
Just commenting that I was here early on your channel before you get big and get millions of subs, keep up the great content 👍🏼
Thanks gamer appreciate it. I don’t expect that anytime soon. Think the No mans sky video was just perfectly timed on accident.
@@MrSaviorHD have belief brother you have high potential 💪🏽
well you are great, when i was watch i was like hey i should like video its really good. and then i see you have 37k subs. Like wtf this video is made like you have 500k and mic is good btw. I leave the like an sub (sry for my eng i hope you will understand)
I understand! Thank you very much.
I hope it gets added to playstation one day, it wont, it would add a new surge of players to it at least.
From then and now, this game is the best pirate simulating game. Actually, it's far better than Skulls And Bones lol
Skull and Bones is a mess lmao
never played the game but the night time footage looks really good graphically 👍👍
Bout damn time your back.
Check out my fallout video Jon. That thing is BANGING.
I wanted to get back into this…I might now bc of the video! Good job!
It’s a BLAST dude
@@MrSaviorHD I bet, i have to play somemtime like super soon
I have a problem with this game. I would love it way more had it not been just customization options as your only rewards. I wish they added extra weapons and you can add or take away things on your boat. Be able to move things on your boat and mix it up so everything is more personalized. It gets so bland because as much as there is to do you know you’re grinding to replace skins that you grinded hours for already. It’s a waste of a great game with cool boat and water mechanics but it hurts to watch it now
so much more fun than years ago, finally putting in the hours i feel it deserves
