Thanks for watching the video if you did!
If you’ve been playing Fallout 76, let me know what keeps you active on the game.
I know I missed some stuff to talk about but this was the first of hopefully many videos that have this kind of style. Hope you enjoyed.
NOTE: The end of the video has audio taken off. Some copyright claim took the music off. I basically said the community is great and you should give the game a shot.

100% the camp building/crafting aspect. This is what REALLY sucked me in and I didn't even know I liked it. I did a little of it in Fallout 4 but it was just a take it or leave it vibe. When playing 76 I really didn't want to do any sort of crafting and that was a main negative for me when starting out. At first I hated that I couldn't loot a bad guy for all his gear (like in Fallout 4). I detested having to craft my own stuff, especially ammo. However as the game progresses and intertwines it into some quests where you learn how to do everything, I surprisingly started loving it a lot. Wanting to design a really cool base (using build tricks) and to collect different new items that come out, to show off to others as well as for my own enjoyment also played a factor. 2nd main thing was not having a game that got my adrenline going like other games. This stood out because I could play casually and lift up my arms and have no sweat stains like i would if I played any of the Cod games, which people never talk about but definitely can't be healthy (at one point I would get tightness in my chest from playing). With F76 I can login after a days work and just relaxingly play and have fun. But I can also put it down easily and come back to it later.

For me, it's trying new builds or tweaking my builds. You can be a power armor heavy gunner, commando, rifleman, melee fighter, bowman, etc. The perk card system is fantastic and I love min maxing to get every ounce of damage possible. There are buffs like food and chems as well. There are so many different systems in the game, including gear, and tweaking all of it for optimum performance gives me endless joy.

The fun thing is: the friendly community of F76 is basically that, what the developers had in mind with one the first story lines: get out of the vault and rebuild society as a responder. Everybody takes care for each other and for those who are in need. And it is basically that, what Travis Miles, the radio host in Fallout 4, was always talking about: a vault dweller showed up and gave you a hand or a gun.

The level scaling simplification of the game is also an issue in ESO. I miss when locations had levelled content without scaling. I like going to a place that is horrendous that I know ill be able to handle when I get stronger.

    • @TraceguyRune
      @TraceguyRune Год назад +7

Not having level scaling is what drives me away from video games. Sometimes you want to compete to story. But if the story levels you too slowly, it lures you into zones above your level. Now you get lost as you have to waste countless hours grinding irrelevant content to level up. By that point, you lose interest in the story or even forget why or what you're doing, and you log out for the last time of your life.

Fallout 76, before its release, was made by Bethesdas B team stationed in Dallas, a much smaller team, and they were given 3 years to work on it. And with constant updates and new content added over 5 years, it's a much better, and playable game. So, after a total of 8 years of development.
Starfield has been in development, also for 8 years, by Bethesdas A team, in Austin. They've been working on it since they finished Fallout 4. I'd say its worth playing through once, preferably with friends although you often are doing your own thing. It's fun to build up your camp and check out others, and crafting collecting parts and exploring can be fun. The quests were added after launch I heard, and some of them are entirely forgettable but some are fun with typical fallout humor.

This games example being you can server hop between any server of 23 other people. Or Warframe being another, hub areas having a lot of people, but you'll never see more than three other players in combat areas. It's a mmo with gameplay areas limited to a certain number, hence mmo lite

Sure you come across griefers from time to time as in any game but i guarantee if theres items you need , help with anything at all , or just something you are wanting , yiu wont have to look hard at all , 76 is the ONLY game i play and i play it faithfully (should probably touch grass😅) buuuut helping low levs and players just starting out is one of my favorite part of the game its always awesome getting a new player into this great game , there is SO much to do ,and yeah it can be a bit overwhelming first starting out but again thats what us veteran players are here for , yiu have the option to not even do the quest , you can jump straight in and just do events , start your camp , roleplay , etc. Once you really get into it and get materials, the camp building feature is pretty awesome and can be incredibly satisfying, ive seen some insane bases in this game , some players strictly play 76 for building also , no matter your playstyle or your interests there is something in fallout 76 for you !! I played this game on launch a lot. Explored pretty much everything, did most of the quests that seemed interesting and basically hit "end game". The only issue back then was, there was no end game. Also the amount of bugs was insane, I had to restart the game atleast once an hour because I got a bug where I couldn't deal damage. I tried it again after a few years when the NPC update launched and realized that they built the game around insane grinding. Once you've been around the block and seen the world and its locations, you start to see the live service aspect of it. A lot of tedious stuff to grind some cosmetics that you could buy from the shop or something similar/better. The events and stuff became repetative fast.
It was and still is a Bethesda game, with bugs and all and for me the most interesting aspect was exploring the world. Once that was done, I didn't really see why play it anymore.

But after getting sick recently, I started playing again, and I really have been enjoying it. The playerbase is amazing, the new content is great, and it just feels satisfying and endless. I changed the way I play a bit to add more diversity to what I'm doing, and it's really made it more enjoyable. I'm a solo player, but one of my favorite things is doing events and daily ops. It really adds a lot of excitement and anticipation waiting for the next big event, and you get to meet a lot of great people and see how others play, which makes me change my playstyle a bit.

If it is a quest companion, it will give you quests and when you finish them you get radiant quests. The ones defined as Lite Allies dont have quests associated to them but all of them give now radiant quests as well. The difference between the Quest Allies and the Lite Allies is that you can Romance the Quest Allies regardless of your gender and get a better buff called Lover's Embrace (same as in F4)... otherwise the buff has another name. It was different before now they are both the same with different names :) The rest is on point.

What I don’t do is give them stuff. The starting struggle is part of the experience. Learning to manage weight, the elation of building that first power armor set, managing ammo counts because you have to loot or make every bullet, finding good looking clothing options from the world, all as a new player makes it fun and interesting.

I'm level 647 with almost 500 hours in the games; and unfortunately I think I've finally hit the point of finding a reason to continue to play. I've done everything there is to do in the game, I can run through Daily Ops solo everyday, and the "dungeon"; launching nukes has lost that novelty and awe. Ik all the best Chems and food item buffs, weapon mods, armour etc etc and it's kinda sad tbh. I really want to keep playing but for end game "vet" players like me there's simply nothing left.

Perhaps make a new character with a fun challenge in mind?

@MrSaviorHD I mean the thing is, is I have every Perk card, every mutation so I can switch builds any time I like.
