Love my Sportsman. Carried while in the Army and also traveling in at least 15 countries on holiday. Though to be honest for years i thought i was carrying a Spartan until i realise the Spartan was 91mm and didn't have file/nail cleaner. Ah well you live and learn (often from your videos lol)
I recently bought a commander esquire set NEW IN PACKAGE for 30 bucks, so I DID buy it brand new. So far pretty useful knife. Slightly smaller than my super tinker
I bought about five new old stock Wengers in the last couple of years but only because Victorinox phased them out. I think it was a good move of theirs to rescue Wenger because they were on the verge of bankruptcy. However, I think they should have kept the Wenger product line intact, instead of creating a hybrid Victorinox-Wenger product. Wengers were cool too, although not nearly as much as Victorinox. I wish both continued to coexist.
Good morning from West Michigan. Good video, thanks. I've noticed that you sometimes remove the SAK Keyring. I think that's a good thing. Someday, could you show us how you do that? I would appreciate it. Thanks, again.
The sportsman is perhaps the better of the two, I believe? I read once that Victorinox and Wenger both bought the corkscrews from a third party? Hence why they are the same! I think the maker was French?

$12 dollars is a bargain for that wenger - nice score dude 👍
Thank you!

Yes I have a video coming for that 👍
the WANGER has a much sharper corkscrew tip !
Ever tryed out one of those Swiza knives? They are somewhat more modern SAK's, with i heard Wenger lineage.
I have, I just don’t think I would like the rubber handle scales.
Much prefer the victorinox knives
I like the old style file better but the new one will strike a ferro rod, at least.
I just posted a Knife sale video of a few knives I am selling go take a look.
I agree the old one was good but the new one has a few benefits
@@markcoffman494 I've seen some reviews that the nail file on the Sportsman scratches the blade - have you found this to be the case?
@@jenwrdrp yes, that’s true.
Does the nail file scratch the blade when you pull it out, on the Victorinox?
Yes
@@markcoffman494 one would think they would turn it around. 🤨 surely people have raised this concern.
👍👍
Great apart from no scissors
Mine came with the esquire, which has the scissors

This is true they do outsource the corkscrew. It is made by French company. I’m not sure which one.
👍🏽
