Really enjoyed the video! I personally see no value in creating new happy lives. Whilst happiness is good for us once we exist, I don’t see it as a reason to create someone. That having been said, humanity will very likely have a future for at least some time, so I hope that goes as well as possible (and of course the future of non-human animals too). In general, I’m quite skeptical about the future. Even if it does go well, the continuation of our species (or any species) always carries the inherent risk that at some point it may get much, much worse. If we increase our population size, we are increasing the number of potential victims that will succumb to a catastrophic event. For me, this is not a risk worth taking.
At my age, the best possible world I can imagine is one where the Human does not exist. I have no problem with the possibility of human extinction, as I think this ensures survival of almost all other life on this Earth, and any other planet the Human might colonize. We are so destructive. Do I hope that humans can evolve into a more beneficial, sustainable life form? Yes, but only if I set aside my lifelong cynicism for a bit. Enjoyed hearing your thoughts about this topic, which includes several different related considerations; thanks for posting!
Do you think humanity is more likely to create a utopian or dystopian future?

Survival of life is survival of suffering. So our extinction doesn't solve that...
@@decipheritalian It does if we aren't here to compound it 1,000-fold.
This question entirely depends on if we stick with capitalism or more beyond it. We’re headed towards dystopia if we stick with capitalism.
Love your videos. Incredibly thought provoking.
Thank you!
It's better to be Optimistic about the Future
Nice video man, I enjoyed!
My pleasure, and thank you!
What's the best possible world you can imagine? Are there any works of fiction that closest depict this for you?
Major slay as per usual
Best possible world = happy humans, happy animals and unlimited pasta everywhere
That sounds pretty good to me!
@@spacescienceguy You're not an antinatalist when you want the best world to include procreated humans.
