Hi, Thank you so much for this tutorial, you are fabulous and you make it so easy to follow. This is by far the best way I've come across and so glad I found you. I am now so addicted to making these book marks lol
Thank you, what a wonderful comment! And, YES, once you start making them it is hard to stop! Every scrap I see I think, "Oooh, that would make a cute paperclip." Hahahaha
These are a fantastic little gift to include with a handmade greeting card. While the card may be tucked away after the occasion, the little matching/coordinating bookmark can continue to be used and a reminder of the card and the giver's love. Thank you so kindly! Blessings.
Exactly! They are fun and easy to make, too!! ❤
Love love love the fact that you can add ribbon or a charm to top of the hidden paper clip. Thank you.
Thanks!
Thank you for this tutorial. It’s a perfect idea for an program at church where teen girls will be matched to older women for a mentorship. These will make lovely gifts for our first meeting!
Yes, and what a wonderful program. Best wishes and happy crafting 🥰❤🖇🖇
Grabbed a couple of 6 x 6 paper pads and made about 50 of these! So much fun! Put my ribbons and pretty seam binding to good use. Using pretty papers mean you don't have to stress about adding embellishments. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
WOW, 50! I believe it, it's totally doable! OMG, I'd LOVE to see them if you are up for sharing. 😁
I'd love to see them too
@@MsTsumka So do I!
This was the best and easiest way I’ve seen.
Thanks so much!
You are so right it the easiest way and all was so beautiful 🎉🎉
Thank you!!
I agree! I was just going to comment the same thing and then I seen your comment lol ❤
Thanks 😊
Love how quick and easy these are to make, and fun as well.
Thanks, I agree!! Happy crafting ❤
Hi Gina! I had finally organized my craft room while watching your video in the background. So much for organizing! I now have paper scraps and all sorts of ephemera spread around my studio. For those of you who haven't tried this tutorial - go for it. It truly is easy and the final products are beautiful. I made bookmarks that slide in from the top, but I also made bookmarks that slide in from the side and have a pocket or a small notepad on the front. You can really get creative with this!
Wow, adding a pocket is a great adaptation, I'd LOVE to see some of your makes, Zhi!
Super simple. Love your take on this idea. Great editing! I can't wait to do this, and use up some broken jewelry with the ribbons on the top!
Thanks so much! Adding jewelry to the top is a great idea!
Really cute. I often give books as gifts and I'll include one of these from now on!
Wow, that would be PERFECT! Great idea!
Best altered paper clip tutorial I have seen
Thank you! ❤🖇✂️◻📏💜🧡💚
Thanks so much for this simpler version. I make these for my students. I ask them to write monthly letters, and this a "reward" for those that do it. They seem to really like them. I needed a fast and easy one. I use a different theme each month from one of my subscriptions.
Wow, that sounds really cool. I'm glad to have helped you in your endeavor! ❤
I love that you are using these in your classroom!
This was such a quick, easy, and fun tutorial! I'm going to start making some of these this afternoon with my stash. You've got a new subscriber :)
Yay, thank you so much! Feel free to send me pics of your makes, I'd love to see them. My email address is in the description box or you can post them to my FB page!! Happy crafting! ◻✂️🖇❤

I'm brand new to scrapping/junking and am attempting to make myself a recipe book. You are a wonderful teacher! You take it slowly step-by-step and don't take up too much time with chatter - you just get to it. These book marks are a good way to start and they can easily be adjusted to the size of paperclips you have on hand. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment ❤💜🧡🥰

This is the MOST useful decorated paper clip tutorial ever!!! It's a fantastic scrap buster, way to use the small-scale embellishments, and a fantastic showcase for the beautiful but tiny rubber stamps! I am planning to use some of my handmade paper and pieces of masterboards, tiny ribbon scraps, beads, basically all the bits and bobs that I can't envision on bigger cards or projects. This has made me very happy!
Thank you for the delightful comment. I would LOVE to see how yours come out if you are willing to share!!! ❤❤❤
Such an easy way to add a flourish to a junk journal ❤️

Thank you so much, Lynette!
This is awesome! I love how simple it is - not a lot of expensive products needed - and a great use of leftover paper! I have started leading a simple craft hour at a local retirement home once a month, and this going to be my next project! Thank you :D
Thanks so much. Great idea! Happy crafting! 🖇🖇✂️◻❤🧡💜
What a great tutorial! Very well presented. And what a fun fiddely way to pass the time. I can get everything needed in front of me and watch tv - chat with my husband and make these fun very useful tags, markers, whatever. Great for recipe books. My old daily devotionals - as I don't go by the day I color code my tag according to the scripture needed. Anyway hope that makes sense and thanks for your time and expertise and for sharing it. Thanks for your great and easy to follow video on altered paper clips! I'm fairly new to making journals and want to learn as much as possible about making ephemera to add to them. I heard the width of the paper, but missed how long to cut the paper...
Thank you! Honestly, it doesnt matter, you can cut it to whatever length you want, mine are not all cut to the same size.
Love these!
Thank you!
I just love these!!!!
Thank you!
What’s the length of base
Liked the paper clips. I’ve made some but love the slot idea on top piece of paper! Also, it just occurred to me that it might also be good to stagger the front length sorter so it is a tad easier to paper clip besides being maybe more recognized as a paper clip. What say you? Since they end up on two separate sides it won’t matter but this might mean double-sided paper is better used.
Hi Rhonda, so glad you enjoyed the video. Staggering the front length shorter is a great variation and would work welll. It would also work if the back length was staggered. I've used the staggered approach on altered paperclips before, but it didn't dawn on me this time. Good catch!
I’ve seen where you do leave a bit of the paper clip sticking up, as you suggested, and then you can add a little dangle of beads/charms attached to paper clip tip with a teeny safety pin or little clasp.
Absolutely, a little dangle would be really cute, especially used in a journal!
Love your ideas!!
Thanks so much.❤
