I finally got the p0101 code off my 2016 Nissan versa. It was the catalytic converter. My car had acceleration issues and at around 40-45 my car would have issues changing gears. It also made a noise that sounded like air being shot out of the engine. And anything over 60 was hard sometimes impossible. But anyway I changed catalytic converter out. My car runs better than when I first got it. I have new spark plugs fuel injectors coil packs throttle body new mass air flow sensor fuel pump and catalytic converter. 😂 I definitely threw parts at it. 😝 but hey she runs like a dream now.

Hey questions here. I have 2009 corolla LE model with a persistent P0101 code. I threw everything as well EXCEPT catalytic converter, throttle body, charcoal canister. Any ideas?
It takes a bit longer to reach 3000-4000rpm around 60mph

@@jamessena1410 you can test the cat converter through the O2 port. What is it doing besides rpm does it make a rattling noise? Smell and eggie smell? Tell me symptoms of what else it doing. You can look at throttle body and rub finger for built up carbon. Also check air intake system for holes. And last but not check for vacuum leaks. I use wd 40. Turn car on spray everything with wd 40 if engine starts struggle or rev that area has vacuum leak. Also wd 40 does a great job of cleaning engine outside. So rub down after spray and engine will look way better.

@@user-pu1xq9ef9u There is no weird rattling noise. I might have missed on something. I just did a vacuum leak test only to replace the fuel filler neck and gas cap to no avail. DTC P0101 still came back on.
I have replaced most parts except throttle body, catalytic converter, air cleaner box, air inlet.
      I have replaced:
      -MAF sensor
      -Engine wiring harness
      -O2 sensors upstream and downstream
      -PCV valve
      -intake manifold gasket(orange rubber
      -spark plugs
-fuel filler neck and gas cap
      -EVAP purge solenoid
-Air intake boot (sits between air cleaner
      box and throttle body)
      -engine air filter

Hi guys sorry for this long message but i really need some help! I have a 2011 Nissan Maxima. Lately it has been jumping sometimes when stepping on the gas and having acceleration issues. The RPM is under 1 and it keeps making a jumping engine noise that sounds like vrmmm, vrmmm, vrmm, vrmm. Autozone used the diagnostics tool and said it was the mass air flow sensor. I bought a new one, mechanic installed it today and it's still having the same problem. When i turn the ceiling lights on they blink in unison with the vrmmm, vrmmm sound. My mechanic used his diagnostics tool and said the mass air flow sensor still came up even though he replaced it. He said another code came up "Bank 1 P-0101" this one. He watched a youtube video and said the gas is too rich? Whatever that means. He told me it needs to be taken to a shop to be put on a lift. He said he thinks the issue is behind the engine air intake hose. Anyone familiar with this problem and can give a resolution? I would truly appreciate it. I just spent $640 on a new alternator and a wire kit, then a week later $240 to fix some antifreeze leaking under the hood, then 2 days later this happens smh. This car is really getting on my nerves. Also if amyone can tell me by driving it with this current issue, can i make it any worse? Like will i cause further damage to my car? Should i just get this fixed right away and try not driving it?

Replaced pcv valve , new air filter , new maf sensor , and the same code still pops up . 2019 Altima under 60k . Thinking I might have a leak somewhere , I hear a slight whistle on acceleration when the code is thrown .

Excellent video. I have a question for you. I have a 2012 Rogue with a MAF problem p01 01 code. The Nissan dealer replaced the MAF. I replaced the air cleaner. I did not replace the PCV valve yet. The dealer I go to tells me they cannot fix the problem any more than they have because they do not have a Master Technician??? I am going to have to travel a ways to get a dealer with a Master Technician. The engine light has gone on twice now. It is supposedly fixed now. If not and the light goes on again and the car seems to run fine I want to turn off the engine light. I purchased a Walmart Hyper Tough HT 100 code reader. It is not much on instructions. It connects with your phone via Blue Tooth to give an explanation of the code. I do not need an explanation and I just want to turn off the engine light. My question is, do I have to use the Blue Tooth feature with the HT 100 or can I just plug it to the plug in the car, turn the ignition to on, read the code, and push the red button to clear the code??
    Thank you, Tom Spero

I've never used that scan tool, but you should be able to plug it in and, say, clear all codes. The code will come back until the problem is fixed. If the MAF sensor is good, the problem is likely in the wiring.
