Loved this post Craig. I have watched you for years and now going over some I have never seen before. Love your drum fills between segments. I'm a drummer, guitarist, Electrical Contractor, Father of two boys, home brewer and just a few years older than you. You have been an enjoyable part of my week for years. I love watching your posts on my Friday nights, after a long week of work, relaxing with a home brew just watching anything you did. I hope you know your awesome. (Don't listen to your opinion, listen to us. That's how you are out here). Thankyou for all you do.
Nice drumming! And brewing. ;) Thank you so much for your videos. I just brewed a Coopers English Bitter and am planning on brewing the IPA next and dry hopping it. Cheers from a fellow Canadian. And you are right, Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA is awesome.
Nice video as usual Craig (and nice drums) . Keep those videos coming to us. You know you are in for a treat with that beer.. :D Cant wait for the review video..... Cheers.
Good to see you back with a new brewing video, I find your videos relaxing to watch. I would watch you read the phonebook 😂. You got me into extract brewing many years ago and helped out immensely. I now own a grainfather and make all sorts of beer, if it hadn’t been for your videos I wouldn’t have started. Cheers 🍻
Haven’t seen you for a while Craig, probably 20 years great to see you still are brewing. I don’t rehydrate my yeast any more as it says on the packet have better results . Drums..great stuff well old mate cheers from Bluff New Zealand.
I learnt to brew from watching your videos back in 2011. I don't think there's a single video I have I missed. (I wonder if there's a way to tell that) Now I brew all grain regularly. I have brewed everything from beer to wine kits (Hardish to get is Australia) to Mead to even applejack. Everything I have learnt or have been inspired by your videos. Even have a sourkrout on the go. Will never tire of watching brew Craig. Thanks for everything. Cheers
Great video, thanks. I actually poured a Torpedo before watching. I live 90 miles from Sierra Nevada so it is readily available. And my son and I love the brewery. He graduated from Chico State so we have had many visits.
Great video again. You were always my go to for so long when I first started out with extract brewing. Have since moved on to all grain but still enjoy these videos , as a good extract brew should never be out of your rotation. Cheers!
Great to see you do another brew from scratrch, and the new drums during pauses times in brew is a bonus. Keep on getting used to them and you will master 'Tom Sawyer' on Fridays cast :) I will look forward to trying this in the future some time, when I can get all the hops together, then finally be able to check out why Jen, you and everyone raves about this so much! (17).
Torpedo has been my favorite beer since 2009. It's usually cheep here in Arizona. After a few you're ready to say good night. Magnum, Crystal and Citra is a great combination to play with. It's my go to hop schedule. Very difficult to clone at home. Cheers Craig!
Craig if you ever get the chance try Dogfish Head 90 IPA!!! Expensive here in the States around $16.99 a six pack but worth every penny in my opinion!!! Not as bitter as Torpedo and has a nicely disguised 9% alcohol! Cheers from Florida friend!!! 🎉🍺🎉🍺🎉🍺🎉
Hi Craig. AIH is a great company. Good products and customer service. I made the Torpedo recently myself. It's really good beer. I liked the video and looking forward to the comparison. Cheers! 17
I don't know why but I bought a box of 12 of these and every single one I opened right out of the fridge exploded with foam out of the bottle, didn't matter which way it was opened or what temperature it was and it was extremely annoying losing 25% of the beer just from opening it. Either way excellent video as always Craig, been watching for many years and never disappoint!
Hi Craig-seems we have similar tastes-I have been enjoying Torpedo Extra IPA for a couple years. For anyone who can't cross the border to obtain it easily-I recommend Smash Bomb Atomic IPA as a closer match than the also excellent Boneshaker...cheers and have a great day!
I that u started with a torpedo drink lol, I see the torpedo bottle fill over I think u getting drunk 🥴 just picking on u Craig love your videos... I made my first coopers the double can extracts 👍👍
Brewing is indeed all about time. For a while now, I've often thought the most important ingredient in beer is time! Especially in a secondary/bottle conditioning. "The waiting is the hardest part..."
Sierra Nevada bottled beers are bottled conditioned. It should be possible to culture the sediment in a bottle to create a yeast starter for making this beer. Thanks for all the work that goes into your videos.
Hey Craig try watching a Grainfather video (if you haven't already) check out the neoprene jacket on the kettle. I think some kind of insulation on the side of your kettle with your induction burner should be enough.
hey bro I need some advice I been watching your videos for about 4 years without attempting a home brew, but my wife recently got me a sierra Nevada homebrew kit for begginners, sierra Nevada my favorite beer.
What is the O.G of this beer? I see you didn't take a hydrometer reading. I know the store bought is a 7.2% but does anyone know if the clone comes out to be the same ABV?
I started brewing by watching your channel. I love your show. I just wanted to tell you I'm a hobby of making beer and cartoons. I made a show of you completely animated. But I would love to send it to you so you can use it in your show. Can you help me know where to send it? PS I will also give you a couple of my home brews. My beer I love brewing the most is ales. I have this amazing ale called ( Chilhowee Creek). Please let me know how you like it.
I just got a 6 pack of these for $8 at the store, I've had them before and I admit I picked them for the price point, being a cheap IPA, but I love them.
Nice Brew day!On the spoon issue ... why dont you just use your long white spoon you use in your fermenters? ... They're apparently safe to use in boiling wort. Also, run some hot water thru the chiller before adding it to the pot .... it might help to not drop the temp of that boil that much 👍im going to attempt an AG version of this sometime very soon. thanks 🍺
no worries about the DMS not evaporating. It'll boil of anywhere from above 97C (206F). Just don't close the lid (although that is also up for debate).
Craig, it would be nice to know why they call it a Torpedo! I hear it's because they dry hop it in a torpedo-shaped device that lets the wert soak through and have the torpedo deliver 500 lbs. of explosive hop flavor to the enemy ship. ;-p
Just put some insulation around your kettle, I think most hardware stores sell it?!? The sliver stuff reflex I think? I would say with a non so vigorous rolling boil you would get less bitterness? Cheers
Hey bud, don't know the extent of your allergy, but Stone has a really good IPA called delicious IPA that uses an enzyme dropping the gluten lower than ten parts per million. If your allergy is extreme then I apologize for bringing it up.
Hi Craig. I've just purchased a cooper lager DIY thanks to your vids. Quick question, being so cold here in Melbourne my brew has dropped to 18 degrees. Is that going to ruin my beer?
You could try to do a NEM - Non Enzymatic Mashing that brings with more flavor, aroma and color of the malt. The beer comes out as a session around 1.020 OG. Suggestion would be to make two beers one in the traditional method and another pure NEM with the same density. The style would be focused on the malt as an Oktoberfest or Marzen. I recently found your channel and I loved the way you are making beers. Thank You! :)
Good Day Craig- Nice to see you back....torpedo t'is a nice beer.

Watching the master do his thing! Thanks Craig, think I'm going to give this one a try. Cheers!
Thanks for the recipe Craig. From Australia

Good to see ya back Craig. Sierra does make great beers. Cheers!

I believe there is a Dogfish 120 as well? I had the 90 years ago, but haven't seen it in central Canada for a long time now.
Love it when you brew..Thumbs up
Hi Craig. AIH is a great company. Good products and customer service. I made the Torpedo recently myself. It's really good beer. I liked the video and looking forward to the comparison. Cheers! 17
Craig, got some Torpedo today. Good stuff...thank you.
Great video Craig, Going to make this very soon . Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Get a little drumming 🥁 in while steeping the grains, Brilliant! I am going to take a try at this recipe. Cheers! Great video. 📺
I would love to try this when it is ready Craig! Cheers, Andy
Great video as always Craig! I’ve missed hearing that intro song for your basic brewing videos!
Love the drums!
Great video Craig buddy cheers and 17 !!!

This happened to me with a case of golden road IPA. It was just a batch that got over carbonated. Every single beer foamed like crazy. It happens.
Love the drumcuts!

Nice drum kit Craig...Cheers.
Craig, TY from Phoenix Arizona ;
I that u started with a torpedo drink lol, I see the torpedo bottle fill over I think u getting drunk 🥴 just picking on u Craig love your videos... I made my first coopers the double can extracts 👍👍
With my 1800w induction, I insulated my small kettle and it made a big difference.
I agree with other beers, but isn't WY1056 the Chico strain, originally from SN? Probably easier, plus the yeast will be fresher.
Love this brew, one of my favs!! 17
Love ur videos and I have done a largerand dry malt together with some hops and yeast just an idea for u to try it worked beautifully
I use a 1800 watt induction cooker (NuWave). I use Reflectix to insulate my kettle and leave the glass lid on. This helps keep a nice rolling boil.
I hope you sent something back to the guy that sent the beer and the guy that sent all the ingredients. You're a lucky man.
Craig can we expect more drum videos with that new electric drum kit! The neighbours won't even have to be warned anymore 👍
I will be doing more drumming during my Friday night cast.
@@CraigTube Right on👍I tune in to C.R.A.I.G. radio most fridays!
Hi Craig I was surprised to that u are using coopers from South Australia not from usa coopers must be that good
Craig I love your posts and always look forward to them. How might someone send you a gift, if so inclined?
Hey Craig try watching a Grainfather video (if you haven't already) check out the neoprene jacket on the kettle.
I think some kind of insulation on the side of your kettle with your induction burner should be enough.
U still the Man, I hope to make a video soon. only way to learn is to watch U-Tube.
hey bro I need some advice I been watching your videos for about 4 years without attempting a home brew, but my wife recently got me a sierra Nevada homebrew kit for begginners, sierra Nevada my favorite beer.
Hi Craig dose coopers do a similar beer to this from Darren in Australia
What is the O.G of this beer? I see you didn't take a hydrometer reading. I know the store bought is a 7.2% but does anyone know if the clone comes out to be the same ABV?

you can tell craig likes his beer hahahah
I just got a 6 pack of these for $8 at the store, I've had them before and I admit I picked them for the price point, being a cheap IPA, but I love them.
when did you get the electronic drums? what type? video? review?
Craigy boy........ 35% drums by proof! Good to see you buddy.
Craig - where did you get the kit? Can you post a link?
Ever tried making your spent grains into Granola?
I also use an 1800 watt induction cooktop and found a bit of insulation goes a long way.
dry yeast addition. that was the best one.
Man I jus did a home brew of this and it turned out way to sweet an not so alcoholic do u know what coulda happened to it?
Nice Brew day!On the spoon issue ... why dont you just use your long white spoon you use in your fermenters? ... They're apparently safe to use in boiling wort.

I still use my long white spoon I have had for over 20 years.
@@canadianbrewer I'm an old MoBster too ;-) Cheerz
good video cheers
as far as boil goes boiling is boiling no matter what fast or slow boiling is 212 deg that won't change.
We missed ya Craig hope all is well!
no worries about the DMS not evaporating. It'll boil of anywhere from above 97C (206F). Just don't close the lid (although that is also up for debate).

DMS is going to be an issue, but aside from that, you need that vigorous boil to get the best efficiency possible
Drink with a burrito, a proper spicy one :P
First view and comment! Baaam! Thanks Craig!
Just put some insulation around your kettle, I think most hardware stores sell it?!? The sliver stuff reflex I think? I would say with a non so vigorous rolling boil you would get less bitterness? Cheers
you should include the clips of the you doing the actual drum transitions in the video
Craig. Have you ever made mead?
He did many years ago, watch all his content from the beginning!
Feelsbadman I'm allergic to gluten and this used to be my absolute favorite beer!
That's fine for the Coopers yeast. You can get a heat belt for future if you want.
@rob pf chur
It depends if you mean 18 degrees celcius or fahrenheit lol
That's a perfect temp. to ferment in...Cheers.
@@MikeP350 He's in Australia, so celsius. Only the US still uses fahrenheit ;-)
I always put marbles in my hops bag
"Don't forget that." Epic. #ticklepour
I get my last 2-3 gallons of water very cold, when I add to wort it gets me where I need to be....
Craig, if you partially cover the pot you will get a better boil and allow DMS to escape. Cheers
Shouldn’t be any dms from malt extract.
You could try to do a NEM - Non Enzymatic Mashing that brings with more flavor, aroma and color of the malt.

Can you use a fish tank pump to oxygen your wart if you wanted to oxgenate it?
Mark Neff yes I bought one from a home brew store.
Mark Neff I wouldn’t recommend it because as your oxygenating you will be pulling in wild yeast from the air.
Should be fine the boil my robobrew system doesn’t boil too vigorously that pot should boil off some wort so yeah you’re beer be fine cheers
lol...i have a pet wasp!
Hey Craig, do you have an email address? I’d like to get in touch with you to send you something.
Thanks
That's some good shit
go the aussie beer
Distilled “water” ;)
Craig do u have Facebook Darren from Australia
oooaaahhhheheehehhhhh
put some marbles in hop bag craig then it will sink

Torpedo is nice but it's too high in alcohol.
