    Churchill's only real concern about the Nazis was that he thought the British empire should be the one calling the shots, overseeing the 'lesser races', rather than some Teutonic upstarts. And in a time of high racism, Churchill was notable among his peer for his racism. There's no need to excuse any of this.

      Same reason why everyone (most at least) in politics at the time was anti nazi. It wasn't cos they disagreed with nazis, they were just mad the Nazis were sending all the "undesirables" to their countries, and they were all also racist, homophobic and anti-semitic. Also cos the nazis were fucking with the money. The rest of the world was fine with them taking Czechoslovakia, and not completely opposed to Poland. It was when they went for the Dutch and Danes that the world was like "right stop that"

    I'm sure we all remember that scene in Stand By Me where Macaulay Culkin gets stung to death. It's one of those great moments that practically defines a generation in film. Much like when Darth Vader reveals to Luke Skywalker that he is indeed his father, in Fast Times At Ridgemont High.

    The quote, "The problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves and wiser people so full of doubts," (more or less) is Bertrand Russell. I've forgotten where he wrote it (History of Western Philosphy, maybe?), but it's a favorite of mine, so it was cool to hear it here.

    The Wikipedia pages on Steiner and Waldorf Education are _wild_ -- to the point of insisting that "racial hierarchy" is not racist as long as the hierarchy, domination, and inherent superiority are "well-meaning."

      one waldorf principal literally stood up on stage at that place, and said, "Steiner protected his lexicon from the nazi's by saying "jews are great because they'll eventually evolve into aryans". Firstly- that's racist anyway, secondly, Steiner died in 1925, so who was he talking to?

    It's unbelievable that there's not more heat on these schools. My parents started one and it failed, not sure why. Maybe they actually did the research and realized their foundation was based on inherently racist ideology...or maybe they were racist (Dad was Native American so I'm not sure how this works). He was also very intelligent and I just can't see him not doing the research.

    I hope one day Evans, and this show in general, starts being honest about "organic" farming. It is not good. Not any of it. Disregarding all the fascist-adjacent bio-dynamic woo, it is objectively bad for the environment. It is more expensive because it is less efficient. "Organic" _does_ use toxic pesticides; it _does_ use toxic fertilizers. It has an artificial and arbitrary list of methods and chemicals to use that isn't really enforced or even consistent. It is a scam.
    Behind the Bastards could easily fill a 2- or 3-part series of episodes on how corrupt and destructive "organic" agriculture is.
    @RobertEvans, start reaearching it.

      @@William-Morey-Baker No. Studies have been done on this and once you adjust for food production per unit land organic and conventional farming are more or less equally bad. Organic does use less pesticides but at the cost of lower output and it just evens out in the end.

      Pretty sure applying herbicide, pesticide, and fungicide at scale isn’t great, not in the present nor long term. GMO’s would be fantastic too, if 60% (or more) of them weren’t about chemical resistant crops and self sterilizing. You make it sound like agriculture for the past 14000 years has been the worst thing ever till the present god send we’re living in now 😂

      @@TopLob just as stated . Also if one is not acquainted with anthroposophical teachings - hands off - however that is my view.
      What do i mean from a personal level is deed matters not what one thinks and by deed Steiner deserves no critique. That a racist acts by deed . A race realist by spiritual science or theory none of which has been proven wrong. Steiner stated that Blacks in mass would be better off not to migrate to Europe - not just for Europeans but for them - how relevant today. Its called the clash of civilizations however at a organic level - not forced by law- things change over time and mixing occurs. He supported that.

      @@M_M_ODonnellto be fair, defending Steiner and the Waldorf crowd/founders is pretty fucked up, like as a reminder, Steiner was too bigoted for the theosophical society and had to make his own more bigoted version. That's pretty hard to defend. That's like getting kicked out of the KKK for being too racist.

  • @TheSunship777

    Rudolf Steiners epistemology in his works like the Philosophy of Freedom go unchallenged . One is free to test it out and find out for themselves. All his works have a moral component and as to his 'occult' works one must be familiar with Anthroposophy especially the 4 fold nature of man. Steiner supported racial mixing which is a overlooked point here and as to his body soul and spirit statements on Race are still effective and not just simply a product of his age. There is racism and there is race realism. Steiner was to the later.

    Race realism and racism are not the same thing. Steiner was focused on Epoch time which is evolutionary and not so much on cyclic time . Different races have there own logos or path to development. In our Age the development - I-Consciousness is dominant . If that can be attributed to a Race or ethnos then so be it.

      Race idealism is raciology, an emphasis on racial characteristic at the expense of other factors, including the environmental. It has been discredited by advances in genetic study which have shown genetic evolution is far more fluid and rapid than thought of on the 19th century.

    • @TheSunship777
      @TheSunship777 5 месяцев назад

      @@evelynesimon5758Science just has part of the picture because of the psyche -in the body and out of the body. Science to this day has mixed views on the subject . If one has done a bit of traveling its apparent as to differences . And these differences have a relation to the blood. If everybody was the same then there would be no diversity . The real changes on a evolutionary scale have been through the individual ego and as Jung wound state "individuation". As a global entity humanity as a whole has not reached that level. As people gain more freedom to be individuals world wide then we will see drastic changes to the collective in all its aspects however the collective will be in the shadow . the collective meaning blood ties, the tribe, the Nation and the Race. That will only be a good thing if the Christ Impulse is apparent with that. Blood as a chemical substance and our DNA is from the same family tree however environment, social and cultural elements , folk-souls, have affected the blood thus the race . The Native American Indians would agree.
