Aemma could not have been saved. She was going to die by C-section or with the baby inside her, and the longer they delayed the C-section, the greater the chance of the baby dying/drowning inside her. But she should have been told -- I'm sure she would have chosen the C-section. I think Viserys couldn't bring himself to admit that she had no chance of surviving.
